Apocalypse: Little Zombie Loves Farming Game – Chapter 151

Bronson Speaks

Ch 151: Bronson Speaks

A week later.

Youxiang lazily leaned on Qiao Yue’s shoulder, her head rubbing against her like a coquettish kitten. “Woof woof, Yueyue, my hands are so sore! They feel like they aren’t even mine anymore; I can’t even lift them.”

Usually, the Farming Game was her favorite thing, allowing her to immerse herself in it and forget her worries.

But this past week, playing the game day and night had almost driven her to collapse. She felt nauseous just looking at the Game Panel.

Sure enough, when something once deeply loved becomes mandatory work, even the deepest love will gradually turn to aversion.

Qiao Yue’s face was full of tender affection. She held Youxiang’s somewhat numb and weak hands, gently kneading them, massaging them while softly saying, “Let me massage you to relax.”

Youxiang gently closed her eyes, enjoying this moment of comfort. The corners of her mouth turned up as she sweetly said, “Mmm, Yueyue is the best. With you by my side, I don’t feel as tired.”

Qiao Yue massaged Youxiang’s hands while saying, “The walls around the Base perimeter all depend on you. The Defense System is now fully installed. That’s the result of your hard work these past few days.”

Youxiang opened her eyes and sighed softly, “But this is far from enough. The Base still lacks so many things—food, supplies, everything.”

Qiao Yue blinked her eyes, thought for a moment, then said, “You could arrange for other Zombies to go out and search. Many hands make light work; maybe they can find a lot.”

Youxiang helplessly shook her head. “I’ve already arranged that, but it’s not like the early days of the Apocalypse. There are fewer and fewer good things to scavenge outside. Everyone has gone out several times with little to show for it.”

Qiao Yue patted Youxiang’s shoulder, comforting her, “Then you’ll just have to work hard.”

At this time, Bronson walked over, carrying a cup of Shishi Fruit Tea, gently placing it on the table in front of Youxiang. His voice was gentle as he said, “Miss, your drink.”

Hearing this familiar and clear human language, Youxiang suddenly raised her head, looking at Bronson, her eyes wide. “You can speak human language? What’s going on? Did you teach yourself?”

She knew that Bronson had always been a Zombie who loved to learn.

The thick stack of Books she had given him before, he read them with relish every day. Now cooking was a piece of cake for him; all kinds of full-course meals were within his capabilities. He had also explored and learned gardening and tea ceremony.

Therefore, Youxiang’s first reaction was that Bronson had taught himself human language.

Bronson smiled and nodded, “I suddenly knew how last night. I don’t know how it happened myself.”

Qiao Yue also echoed from the side, “Yes, I was also startled when I heard Bronson speak last night. I wanted to tell Little Youxiang immediately, but thinking you were still busy in the Bedroom, I didn’t disturb you. This is so much better now. Finally, we won’t have to communicate using the Tablet anymore; that was really troublesome.”

“Hmm?” Youxiang suddenly seemed to have caught something new, her eyes instantly lit up. She abruptly stood up, leaned towards Bronson, her head slightly tilted forward, carefully examining him, not missing any subtle changes on his face.

Bronson stood quietly in place, his posture straight, courteously and calmly allowing Youxiang to examine him. He maintained a gentle smile, his eyes calm and friendly.

After a few minutes, Youxiang finally withdrew her gaze.

She sat down again, gently sipped the Shishi Fruit Tea in front of her, then slowly said, “Butler, I’ve noticed your facial expressions don’t seem as stiff as before, and your eyes are more vibrant.”

Bronson nodded slightly, “Yes, these changes have happened unconsciously. I feel like I’m slowly becoming more human-like, more and more like a human.”

Youxiang gently stroked her chin, thoughtfully nodding, “You must have leveled up.”

Qiao Yue was completely baffled by this, and couldn’t help but ask, “Leveled up? Why would you level up? There must be a reason behind this.”

Youxiang put down her Cup, slowly leaning back against the soft Sofa, her eyes revealing a thoughtful look. “It should be because of the Shishi Fruit.”

Qiao Yue listened, subconsciously glancing at the cup of half-drunk Shishi Fruit Tea on the Coffee Table. A hint of surprise flashed in her eyes. “Shishi Fruit? Does it have this kind of effect?”

Youxiang crossed her arms, seriously explaining, “The Shishi Fruit’s description mentions it’s beneficial to Zombies, but before I didn’t understand what the benefits were. Now I do. It must be this leveling-up change.”

After listening, Qiao Yue asked, “Now all Zombies eat the Shishi Fruit, so won’t all Zombies become very human-like in the future?”

The more Zombies resemble humans, the more helpful it will be for Youxiang’s goal of establishing a Base where humans and Zombies can coexist—it’s a good thing.

Youxiang looked at Qiao Yue, “But for now, these are just my guesses. Whether it will turn out this way is still uncertain. We’ll pay more attention to the changes in the Zombies within the Base later.”

Youxiang and Qiao Yue chatted for a while longer. Feeling rested, they decided to return to the Game.

After all, they still didn’t have enough Game Gold Coins.

She stood up, stretched out her arms, and loosened her stiff muscles. Just as she was about to say something, she suddenly seemed to remember something, looked around, and asked, “Huh? Where’s Mimi?”

Qiao Yue was slightly startled, then said, “Isn’t Mimi always in your Bedroom? Maybe she’s sleeping in some corner?”

She hadn’t seen Mimi for a long time either, but remembered that Mimi had last gone into Youxiang’s Bedroom.

Youxiang said affirmatively, “Mimi isn’t in my Bedroom; I didn’t see her at all. Forget it, I’ll go look in the Bedroom.”

After saying that, she searched her Bedroom, but didn’t find her.

Youxiang frowned, walked to the center of the Villa, took a deep breath, and shouted, “Mimi, it’s dinner time!”

In the past, as soon as she shouted like this, Mimi would immediately dart out from some corner and happily circle her feet.

However, this time Mimi didn’t appear as usual.

Youxiang muttered to herself, her face full of confusion. “Strange, she should have already appeared by now. What’s going on? Did she run out?”

Qiao Yue stepped forward, “Maybe she’s not home? Maybe she ran out to play by herself.”

Youxiang scratched her head, “Maybe she really went out to play. Forget it, I don’t have time to worry about her now. Yueyue, please keep an eye out for Mimi. Tell me immediately if she comes back.”

Qiao Yue nodded and said, “Okay, go ahead and get busy.”
