Chapter 95: Outing
“Ah? Second Brother said we’re going on a trip tomorrow?”
In the living room, Ao Tian couldn’t help but exclaim when he heard Yang Xuanshuang say that.
Usually, Second Brother Lin Yu is like a mythical dragon, rarely seen, a truly busy person. But he just got engaged yesterday and today he’s saying they should all go on a trip together, and it was proposed so suddenly without any prior warning. This made Ao Tian very puzzled.
“Mm, he said he suddenly felt like going for a visit, so he apparently took two extra days off.” Yang Xuanshuang replied.
Seeing that his Third Sister and Fifth Sister beside him hadn’t said anything, Ao Tian rubbed his forehead helplessly and complained, “He just got engaged, and instead of staying home to spend more time with Sister Lin Xi, he wants everyone to go on a trip together? And even if we’re going on a trip, there should at least be some prior planning. This is just too…”
“Ah, this, he said he’s already planned it.”
“Oh?” Hearing Yang Xuanshuang say that, Ao Tian and Su Yuoluo’s eyes lit up. Traveling was an extremely rare and precious thing for children like them who grew up in an orphanage. They had never traveled before, of course, that one time their Third Sister dragged them out as free combat power doesn’t count.
“Alright then, where are we going?” Su Yuoluo asked excitedly, her eyes sparkling. It was clear she was already looking forward to this trip.
Yang Xuanshuang lowered his head and looked at the message on his mobile phone: “He said since he only has four days off, it’s too late to go far, so we’re going to Jinling, which is nearby.”
“Ah, this… Sigh, alright then. Looks like we’ll have to wake up extra early again tomorrow.” Ao Tian was very helpless. Waking up early was no different from torture for him. That feeling of dizziness and nearly blacking out as soon as he sat up was more unbearable than killing him.
Yang Xuanshuang smiled slightly upon hearing this and reached out to gently comfort him, “Alright, it’s rare that we’re going out together. Don’t worry about it. Sister Lin Xi’s family will be going too tomorrow. Don’t oversleep and keep Lin Xi’s parents waiting.”
“Sigh, alright then.”
Afterwards, after assigning seats and packing their luggage, everyone returned to their rooms to get an early rest. The night passed uneventfully.
Early the next morning, around six o’clock, Ao Tian was startled awake by Fuyun smacking him in the face.
Although he was very unhappy in his heart, he had no choice but to get up and grab some food to feed the little guy.
But then he started to worry: “If we all leave, what will happen to this little guy? We can’t just let it starve for a few days, can we?”
“This little guy eats meat. We can’t leave fresh meat out for that long in this weather, otherwise, it would probably start to maggot.”
“Should we take it with us? That seems like quite a hassle.”
“But if we don’t take it, won’t it tear my house apart?”
“Fine, fine, forget it. We’ll take it. I’ll just have to inconvenience myself a bit.”
Finally, after much thought, Ao Tian decided to take it with him. Alas, he had put so much effort into creating this little creature, he had to raise it even if it meant tears.
Since they had decided to wake up at 6:30 yesterday, and there were only about ten minutes left, Ao Tian didn’t lie back down. Instead, he tiptoed to the door of his Third Sister’s room and knocked softly.
After hearing some movement from the room, Ao Tian gently pushed the door open and went inside.
As soon as he gently closed the door, Ao Tian turned around and saw his Third Sister stop scrolling on her phone and staring at him with a displeased expression.
Liu Lan’s gaze made Ao Tian a little uneasy, so he tentatively asked, “Third Sister, I’m planning to bring Fuyun along, what do you think…?”
Liu Lan didn’t respond to Ao Tian, instead continuing to scroll on her phone. Ao Tian was very helpless seeing this; it seemed her anger had not subsided, so he left her room to wash up.
Before long, the sisters woke up one after another. Just as they finished washing up, Second Brother Lin Yu arrived at the doorway with Lin Xi’s family in his car, and he had also brought breakfast for them.
After greetings, everyone began to assign seats. Originally, Lin Yu would drive Lin Xi’s family, and Yang Xuanshuang would drive Ao Tian, Liu Lan, and Su Yuoluo, making it two cars. However, Liu Lan suddenly said she would drive too and insisted that Ao Tian follow her. Although everyone was a bit puzzled, they didn’t say much. After some arrangements, they got into the cars one by one.
As soon as Ao Tian got into the car, he released Fuyun from his bracelet to let it get some air. Although the bracelet could store living creatures, they could not be inside for more than eight hours at a time, otherwise, there was a risk of suffocation.
Just as Ao Tian was contemplating Fuyun’s food source for the next few days, his Third Sister threw a bag from the front seat.
“This is… dried meat?” With his keen sense of smell, Ao Tian immediately recognized the contents of the bag.
“Alright, so Third Sister, you were prepared all along. As expected of my good sister!” He had thought his Third Sister was indifferent, but unexpectedly she was well-prepared. At this moment, Ao Tian’s heart was filled with joy. This had solved a big problem.
However, Liu Lan didn’t say anything in response to Ao Tian’s praise, and there wasn’t even any obvious change in her expression. This made Ao Tian very disappointed. He regretted it immensely now. If only he hadn’t been so foolish and done that back then.
While Ao Tian was still regretting, he didn’t notice that Liu Lan’s head was slightly raised, the corners of her mouth curved upwards slightly, and a hint of a smile and pride appeared in her eyes. But because she was wearing sunglasses at the time, Ao Tian didn’t notice her every move.
In fact, she completely understood that what Ao Tian did that day was out of concern for her and she had long forgiven him in her heart. However, due to her status as an older sister and her tsundere nature, she hadn’t shown it. She simply wanted to wait for Ao Tian to admit his fault first. After all, for an older sister like her, how could an older sister be wrong? If there was a mistake, it was the younger brother’s fault.
But Ao Tian was a true straightforward man, so he naturally couldn’t guess his Third Sister’s intentions. At this time, he was also feeling a bit sleepy and leaned against the car door, falling asleep.
Liu Lan glanced at the sleeping Ao Tian in the rearview mirror, and her chest felt a pang of frustration: “Sigh, what a big pig’s trotters!”
