Ch 18: Again Taken Advantage Of
Si Shuo tried hard to stay awake, listening to all of his words, word by word.
She is a modern person, and the concept of love and marriage she has accepted is different from that of the Beastmen. One emphasizes the spiritual level, and the other emphasizes survival.
But I have to say that Ji Liang’s words softened her heart a little.
She said weakly, “How do I know if what you’re saying is true?”
Ji Liang chuckled, “The beast mark is proof of my sincerity, Little Shuo Shuo. I won’t touch you, just let me in, okay?
I’ll infuse some spiritual energy into you to make your body feel more comfortable. If you resist, it will damage your body.”
“No! I can’t open the door for you,” Si Shuo said, her gums bleeding a little from biting the handkerchief so hard.
Ji Liang sighed softly, “Alas, Little Shuo Shuo saw through me again. Okay, I won’t go in. Is it okay if I transmit spiritual energy to you through the door?”
As he spoke, a stream of warm, cool air squeezed in through the crack in the door and slowly caressed Si Shuo.
She almost moaned out loud in comfort, and the tightly furrowed brow instantly relaxed.
“Good girl, the cold winter has just passed, and your weak body can’t stand the coolness of the night. Spread the beast hide on the doorstep and cover it with another layer, and I’ll continue to send you spiritual energy.”
Suddenly, the spiritual energy stopped. Si Shuo subconsciously grabbed a handful of air, hummed softly, trotted to the inner room, and brought the beast hide to spread and cover herself. Only then did she whisper, “I, I’m lying down.”
Ji Liang hissed, really wanting to break down the door.
Does the little female know what it means to say these words to a male?
He finally managed to get the little female to lower her guard against him, but he could only be blocked by a wooden door, transmitting spiritual energy to her from a distance, letting most of the spiritual energy dissipate into the air.
However, that spiritual energy lowered the temperature in the cave, making Si Shuo in heat much more comfortable.
“Then you should get some sleep. I’ll stay here until dawn and then leave,” he said, leaning against the door, looking at the clear, cold moonlight in the sky, his voice full of tenderness.
Si Shuo curled her lips slightly, “Thank you, Lord Ji Liang.”
“If you really want to thank me, make me a bracelet when you’re free during the day,” Ji Liang said, raising an eyebrow unceremoniously.
Si Shuo had never seen anyone climb a pole faster than him. But he had helped her so much, so she could only sullenly agree.
Before long, Si Shuo, who had been tormented for two days and hadn’t rested well, couldn’t resist the drowsiness and fell asleep, snoring softly.
She had no dreams all night. Si Shuo opened her eyes and habitually touched the beast mark on her wrist, telling Zhi Le that she was awake and that she missed him.
When she woke up, she realized that she was sleeping at the entrance of the cave. Remembering what happened last night, her face couldn’t help but turn red, and her body temperature rose a little more.
Looking at her pitiful two-digit beast coins, Si Shuo didn’t dare to splurge on ready-made meals from the supermarket. Fortunately, she had bought a bag of rice and a bag of noodles before, each weighing a hundred jin, enough for her to eat for a long time.
Moreover, the things she bought from the supermarket could be temporarily stored in the storage cabinet and wouldn’t take up her space.
She scooped out some noodles, poured in some water, added an egg, salt, and wild scallions, and mixed it into a batter.
She brushed a thin layer of oil on the stone pot, scooped a spoonful of batter and spread it flat. After the batter solidified, she flipped it over, making a pancake every two or three minutes!
Si Shuo stacked up a lot of scallion and egg pancakes, which were soft, chewy, salty, and fragrant. It was one of her favorite breakfasts. Paired with thick millet porridge, it was so satisfying.
She put the uneaten egg pancakes into her personal storage realm. She opened the door, took the fruits that Zhi Le had gathered, and ate them while basking in the sun.
Yi Mei heard the noise and poked her head out, waving at her and silently mouthing, “Si Shuo, did you hear any noises last night?”
Si Shuo stiffened all over. Ji Liang said that he had set up some kind of defensive barrier to isolate the sound and smell, so how could anyone have heard it?
She shook her head.
Yi Mei slapped her forehead, “I forgot that you can’t hear, Si Shuo.”
◈◈◈
She pointed slightly excitedly below, continuing to just mouth the words, “Your sister brought a rogue beastman back to the cave last night. He’s a small team leader from the Dark Crow Merchant Band, a level five Crocodile Beastman named You Wei!”
“Oh my, the two of them made such a big commotion last night. As expected of a rogue beastman, that fierce look of his made my Rong Xing much fiercer than usual…”
Si Shuo was dumbfounded. Is this something she can listen to for free?
Yi Mei looked at her silly expression and laughed, “It’s a good thing you can’t hear, or you’d miss your Zhi Le so much, right?”
Si Shuo glared at her, snorting. She was just trying to provoke her at this time…
Yi Mei nudged her and nodded her chin.
Si Shuo followed her gaze and saw Bu Meng and two other rogue beastmen going in and out, acting as laborers, carrying things into Yu Jiao’s cave.
But she also saw Ji Liang strolling over. The way he walked so lazily, he didn’t look like a beastman at all, but more like some ancient prince out for a stroll!
He looked over at her, hissed teasingly, and smiled as he touched his wrist.
Si Shuo pursed her lips and didn’t look at him. But she still went into the cave, packed up some things, and sat at the entrance with Yi Mei, holding a shallow wicker basket and doing work.
She had already sewn four sets of spring clothes for herself and two sets for Zhi Le.
In addition to clothes, she also made a lot of accessories, such as fluffy head flowers, brooches, bracelets, necklaces, and wrist guards.
Yi Mei and the others thought they were pretty and followed her to make some too.
Si Shuo looked through her sewing basket, looking at the beast tendons, beast fangs, and beads. These things were more feminine.
She shifted her gaze to the beast hide, picking out three colors: black, red, and gold. She also chose hides with good hardness and elasticity, and she took them to the cave and used an eyebrow razor to remove the hair little by little.
Si Shuo took scissors and cut the de-haired beast hide into thin strips of about the same thickness.
She used two strips of the same color, and braided the three colors together in a three-strand braid. The end had a flat clasp for adjusting the length.
This kind of bracelet was simple and generous, and the contrasting colors matched his style of clothing. It didn’t look feminine, but rather a bit cool.
She couldn’t help but put it on her wrist to take a look. The more she looked at it, the better it looked. She made one for Zhi Le in a cyan, white, and light blue color scheme, and hers was white, pink, and blue.
The females liked them very much when they saw them and followed her to learn.
The bracelets were simple and pretty, and when Si Shuo was teaching the females, she braided a lot of them, completing one in five or six minutes.
When it was time for lunch, she took the bracelets to the square to sell to the traveling merchants. She exchanged them for some trinkets and slipped the bracelet to Ji Liang.
Ji Liang couldn’t help but hold her hand, “Little Si Shuo, am I that shameful? Did you specially braid this bracelet for me?
You made so many that you’re even selling them…”
His hands were warm, cool, dry, and smooth. Si Shuo couldn’t help but want to take them and press them against her face.
Si Shuo was unable to refute his words. Why was she so foolish? Why couldn’t she help but braid so many because the bracelets looked so good, giving him another reason to take advantage of her!
“Then what do you want?” Unable to pull her hand away, Si Shuo was a little anxious, afraid of being seen by other beastmen, and asked in a low voice.
Ji Liang slowly played with her hand. The little female’s hand was too soft and smooth, wanting to take a bite…
Ji Liang: Hiss, I’m a snake beastman, the best at climbing up the pole…
