Ch 319: if Line (1)
Time flies, and the three children have all grown up, started their own families, and moved out of the Old House. The servants in the house have all been transferred away, leaving only Gu Qingyin and Huo Yunjing behind.
As usual, Gu Qingyin finished her evening cultivation and planned to go to sleep.
Huo Yunjing walked in carrying a palm-sized small vase.
Some ethereal patterns were painted on the vase, hazy and unclear.
“What’s this?” Gu Qingyin took it and looked at it, becoming more and more confused. She closed her eyes, “A defective product, probably.”
Huo Yunjing placed the vase on the bedside table and examined it for two seconds with narrowed eyes, “A treasure offered by the little ghosts below, they say it has a very magical effect.”
“How do you use it?” Gu Qingyin became a little interested, but as soon as she asked, she couldn’t help but yawn. She rubbed her eyes, “Never mind, I’ll go to sleep first and study it tomorrow.”
“Sleep then.” Huo Yunjing went to the bathroom to wash up again.
——Although he is still a ghost, he has become accustomed to living like a human. Daily washing, eating, and sleeping are all essential.
By the time Huo Yunjing returned, Gu Qingyin was already fast asleep. He lifted the blanket and got into bed, skillfully wrapped his wife in his arms, and closed his eyes.
After a brief slumber, Gu Qingyin suddenly woke up with a start. The next second, she was blown by a strong wind and couldn’t open her eyes—she was running at full speed!
Gu Qingyin was momentarily dazed and quickly stopped. A familiar figure flashed past in front of her. She was even more puzzled. Was that Candle Dragon? But wasn’t Candle Dragon dead? She looked around in confusion, and the surrounding scenery did look a little familiar.
Was she dreaming? But it felt too real.
Gu Qingyin looked at the direction where Candle Dragon disappeared and suddenly turned around and left. Back then, she missed twenty years because of chasing Candle Dragon. If she had to do it again, whoever wants to chase can chase, she doesn’t care anyway.
Before she had gone far, Huo Yunjing’s phone call came. After Gu Qingyin answered, she opened her mouth and shouted, “Husband! Do you miss me? Wait, I’ll be home soon.” She thought, it’s a dream, of course, there’s no need to take a car or a plane, you can go wherever you want with a thought.
She wanted to go back to the Old House right now to see Huo Yunjing and the babies.
The phone was quiet, with only the sound of breathing.
Gu Qingyin looked at the call interface and asked in confusion, “Husband? Can you hear me?”
“…Yes.” Huo Yunjing’s voice was a little apprehensive, “Aren’t you handling a commission? Why are you coming back so soon?” He paused and asked, “Are you, not angry anymore?”
Gu Qingyin couldn’t remember why they had quarreled and gotten angry, so she said “Tch” and acted very generously, “Couples don’t hold grudges overnight, I’ll be home soon.”
Huo Yunjing breathed a sigh of relief without showing it, “Where are you? I’ll have someone pick you up.”
Gu Qingyin looked around, “I’m in the wilderness, a place that’s hard to describe.”
“Send me your location.” Huo Yunjing’s voice was a little cold, “Stay where you are and don’t move.” With that, he hung up the phone.
Gu Qingyin blinked, said “Oh,” and got used to Huo Yunjing’s gentleness and consideration. Suddenly being so indifferent, she was a little unaccustomed to it.
Not knowing how long she would have to wait, Gu Qingyin rummaged through her satchel, took out a simple tent, and set up a small table, put on a teapot and a fruit plate, and waited while eating and drinking.
About an hour later, the rumbling sound of a helicopter rang out.
Gu Qingyin crawled out of the tent and saw the helicopter landing. A man in a suit and leather shoes jumped out of the plane, walked up to her, and respectfully nodded, “Madam, President Huo asked me to pick you up.”
Gu Qingyin looked him up and down, found him a little familiar, and nodded with a smile, “Thank you for your trouble.”
The helicopter only took her to the airport, and then she transferred to the Huo family’s private plane, which flew directly to Yuncity. Upon landing, she was picked up by a car and taken back to the Old House.
Only after returning home did Gu Qingyin realize that Huo Yunjing had not returned at all. She narrowed her eyes, a little unhappy, but turned her head and forgot about him—men are not as important as the babies, who are only six months old and laugh when you tease them.
Gu Qingyin first went back to her room to wash up and changed into soft home clothes before going to the nursery. She was originally impatient, but when she really got to the door, she didn’t dare to open it, feeling a bit like a homesickness.
Taking a deep breath, Gu Qingyin pushed open the door.
The setting sun reflected on the warm-colored floor, the wind chimes gently swayed, making a pleasant sound, accompanied by the little babies’ babbling… The warmth made Gu Qingyin’s eyes instantly turn red.
“Madam?” The nanny turned her head, looking surprised, and then smiled, “You’re back. Xingye has been looking for you as soon as he opens his eyes these past two days.”
Gu Qingyin curled her lips and slowly walked to the crib, looking down at three almost identical little faces—the triplets were most alike when they were born, and the differences would become greater as they grew older. At this time, those who were familiar with them could already distinguish them well.
As soon as she approached, the child on the left, who had no expression, turned his head and stared at her with his black grape-like eyes, then stretched out his little hand towards her.
Gu Qingyin immediately felt her heart melt and quickly reached out to pick up the child, “Does Xingye miss his mother?”
Little Xingye seemed to understand and his little mouth drooped as tears were about to come out.
Gu Qingyin quickly coaxed him, her voice as gentle as possible, “Don’t cry, don’t cry, Mommy is back, and won’t leave again, okay?”
Little Xingye didn’t know if he understood, but he suppressed his tears in grievance, just staring at his mother with red eyes.
The two left on the crib seemed to feel something and suddenly cried out “Wah.”
Gu Qingyin could only put Little Xingye down and go to coax the other two, and the nanny came over to help.
But the triplets, who were usually so easy to take care of, were particularly difficult to coax today. Only Mommy could make them feel better, and they would continue to cry as soon as Mommy put them down.
When Gu Qingyin was in a state of desperation, Huo Yunjing pushed the door open. Her eyes lit up, “Quick, coax your sons, I don’t know what’s wrong, they keep crying.”
Huo Yunjing stood at the door for a few seconds, as if confirming something, then slowly walked over, leisurely took off his watch, and took Little Xingchen, who was crying and hiccupping, from the nanny’s arms.
Little Xingchen smelled the familiar scent, and his crying slowly stopped.
Gu Qingyin breathed a sigh of relief and looked down, Little Xingye was still looking at her with grievance.
Gu Qingyin’s heart softened and she picked up Little Xingye again, coaxing him softly.
The nanny brought over the milk powder, and the three children fell asleep after drinking it.
Gu Qingyin tiptoed out of the nursery and let out a sigh of relief, “They were so clingy today.”
“Because you were gone for too long.” Huo Yunjing lowered his eyes slightly to look at her, his gaze a little complicated, “I thought you wouldn’t come back.”
Gu Qingyin blinked, “My sons and husband are all here, how could I not come back?”
Huo Yunjing’s expression became even more complicated, “Before you left, you said you wanted to divorce me.”
