Chapter 63: Up to the Sky
“Who knew the buildings here were so fragile?” the dust-covered Jackal said.
“Nonsense, you think this place is like your hometown, full of stone caves?” The Swordsman cursed and grumbled, not forgetting to comb his hair.
Thankfully, he was far enough away, otherwise his hairstyle would have been messed up.
“Stop arguing, stop arguing. That guy is gone,” the Mechanic said. She couldn’t see the Zombie King in her field of vision.
It seemed like the other party had gone after the cat and the Little Dwarf again. She didn’t know what that chubby cat and the Little Dwarf had done to attract so much hatred.
“Really? Then I think we can get ready to wash up and sleep. After all, staying up late is a woman’s biggest enemy,” the Witch said, yawning. It was almost time for bed.
Otherwise, staying up late would make her old, and she didn’t want to be like those thousands-year-old old women.
“Makes sense. Everyone, find your own place. I’ll sleep first.” The Sorcerer took a blanket out of his Spatial Backpack, threw it on the ground, and lay down.
Soon, rhythmic snores rang out.
Everyone was stunned. Was this guy a pig?
“Roar~”
“D*mn it, wait until I complete my final transformation, then I’ll deal with you. Now I’m going to catch those two little guys.”
On the other side of the street, the Zombie King looked at the hot air balloon floating in the sky and climbed a tall building.
He jumped from building to building, using them as springboards. His height increased each time, but he still couldn’t reach the balloon. However, he did not give up easily.
He didn’t believe the hot air balloon could fly forever. It would definitely stop.
“Gururu~ (Brother Cat, this guy is so patient. He keeps bouncing around down there, trying to jump up. )” Matthew said nervously when he saw this.
“Meow~ (Don’t be so scared, he’s still flesh and blood after all. Unless he can fly, he can’t do anything. When we get a little higher and fly into the clouds, he won’t be able to see us at all. We just need to wait quietly for the time to be up. )” Li Li, who was lying down, said nonchalantly. They were floating so high now.
This big zombie, did he think he was a spring man? He still wanted to catch up, don’t even dream about it.
Besides, they had just taken off, and they would be able to fly higher later.
“Gururu~ (That makes sense. )” Matthew nodded as he looked at the city getting smaller and smaller below.
He heard snoring and turned to see that Li Li had fallen asleep.
“Gururu~ (Brother Cat falls asleep so fast, I should sleep too. )” Matthew muttered and lay down as well.
He had experienced so much today, it was even more exciting than everything he had experienced before.
“Roar~”
“D*mn it, it’s rising so fast?” The Zombie King clenched his fists as he looked at the hot air balloon, which had become a black dot in the sky.
Then, he ran towards the distance.
The balloon was floating too high; there was no way to catch up. He had to use some technological power.
“Meow~ (What a beautiful day, I can go back tomorrow. )”
Above the endless white clouds, a red sun hung high in the sky, casting dazzling sunlight.
Li Li, who had woken up from his dream, stretched and then lay on the edge of the basket to enjoy the scenery.
The sky was so blue, the clouds so white. The round, big sun was as charming as an egg yolk. It would be great if he could eat it.
“Gururu~ (Brother Cat, you’re awake? Where are we going now? )” Matthew, who was munching on a cabbage leaf, asked.
“Meow~ (Of course we are waiting here for the time to be up. Otherwise, if we land on the ground, that brainless zombie won’t let us go, right? )” Li Li said, biting the cabbage with a “crunch.”
Although there was no meat to eat when he woke up in the morning, he wasn’t picky about having cabbage. He considered it a cleanse for his intestines.
“Gururu~ (That’s true, but why is he chasing us? )” Matthew still didn’t understand.
“Meow~ (You ask me, who should I ask? Maybe he thinks we are easier to bully. )” Li Li said. Who knows why this ghost zombie was chasing them? If he knew, he wouldn’t be so depressed.
“Gururu~ (That’s also possible. After all, you pick the soft persimmon to pinch. )” Matthew nodded thoughtfully.
In terms of strength, they were indeed the easiest to deal with. After all, besides this reason, he really didn’t know what else about them would be worth such relentless pursuit.
“Meow~ (By the way, do you have anything that masks scent? I thought about it carefully yesterday, if we could mask our scent, that brainless guy wouldn’t be able to chase us anymore. )” Li Li looked at Matthew and said. Since the other party could buy things from the mall, he should be able to buy something to mask scent, right? As long as their scent wasn’t detected, they wouldn’t be tracked.
“Gururu~ (I don’t have a scent. Even the most powerful hyena can’t smell me. )” Matthew sniffed himself when he heard this.
Their Forest Elves were vegetarians, and they didn’t sweat, so their scent was very faint, almost non-existent.
Therefore, there was no need to mask their scent.
“Meow~ (So that guy is tracking my scent? )” Li Li immediately understood.
Good heavens, it turned out this zombie had been chasing him the whole time.
“Gururu~ (That should be right. That big guy is chasing you, Brother Cat. If it was because of the sound, we are much farther away from the lab now. )” Matthew nodded. Now it seemed like that was the case.
When he was sitting on Brother Cat’s back, he also noticed that Brother Cat’s scent was a bit strong.
“Meow~ (Since that’s the case, why don’t you hurry up and buy me a treasure that masks scent. )” Li Li said. The other party knew what was going on, so why wasn’t he hurrying up?
“Gururu~ (No problem, but Brother Cat, remember to pay me back in Comprehensive Network Currency later. )” Matthew reminded him. It was fine for him to buy it for Li Li.
But after Li Li took it, he would have to give him Comprehensive Network Currency after the novice tutorial was over. He was very weak and needed a lot of Comprehensive Network Currency to buy items.
“Meow~ (Don’t worry, I’ll give it to you. What are you afraid of? Isn’t my share of the Evolutionary Potion still in your Spatial Backpack? If I don’t give it to you later, you can just not give me the potion, right? )” Li Li reminded him. Why was this little guy so suspicious? It wasn’t like he didn’t have anything pawned with him. Was he afraid that he wouldn’t be able to freeload?
