The Demon King and the Hero’s Border Life – Chapter 459

Ch 459: "thank You, Boss." "go To Sleep, Infinite."

Ch 459: “thank You, Boss.” “go To Sleep, Infinite.”

Grey’s shout startled both Bal and Nirvana. The two of them sprang up from the sofa, and Xiao Jiu, who was in Bal’s arms, was flung off like she had been from Phia’s legs before. However, this time Xiao Jiu was smarter; after stabilizing herself in mid-air, she flapped her wings and flew, landing safely beside Philia.

“What’s wrong with Wu Xian?”

Nirvana, leaning on his cane, quickly walked to Grey, showing his urgency.

“Wu Xian suddenly went berserk.”

“Tsk… How could this happen now…”

Bal also quickly asked Grey.

“Are the children at the orphanage alright? No one was hurt?”

“No, he suddenly lost consciousness in the orphanage’s front yard and started attacking passersby. Luckily, the passerby attacked was an adventurer, and he dodged. You guys should hurry over.”

“I understand. Grey, wake Phia and Nia up; I’ll go ahead.”

“Okay.”

Bal grabbed his long sword hanging on the coat rack and rushed out. His current task was to minimize the damage caused by the rampaging Wu Xian. Bal enhanced his body, jumped onto the rooftop, and began moving across it at high speed. When Bal saw Wu Xian, he had already cornered the passerby.

“Tsk… Ultimate Technique・Weapon River Galaxy!”

Bal projected numerous armaments and hurled them at Wu Xian. Wu Xian sensed the armaments and batted them away with his arms. Bal took the opportunity to move the passerby to safety, then he provocatively led Wu Xian outside of town.

Once outside the town, Bal no longer had to hold back. He drew his long sword and confronted Wu Xian. Since the Inverted Tower incident, Wu Xian was no longer Bal’s match. Bal continuously used his body technique to dodge Wu Xian’s attacks while counterattacking with his long sword. Considering Nirvana, Bal didn’t use lethal force. His current mission was to hold out until Phia arrived with the antidote.

Before long, Bal again used projection armaments to pin Wu Xian to the ground. With his hands and legs pierced, Wu Xian roared, and a bead of sweat appeared on Bal’s forehead. If Wu Xian continued to struggle, his limbs might be irreparably damaged.

“Remove the armaments!”

A familiar voice sounded behind Bal. He turned to see Phia arriving with Nia, Grey, and Nirvana. Bal immediately dispelled the projection armaments, and Phia activated Gravity Magic the moment they vanished.

“Fall!”

Powerful gravity pressed down on Wu Xian, and his wounds began to bleed. While maintaining the Gravity Magic, Philia used Healing Magic to treat Wu Xian’s injuries, then she turned to Nia.

“Nia, inject the potion!”

“Okay!”

Nia grabbed the first potion and ran. Braving Phia’s Gravity Magic, she plunged the needle into the prominent vein on Wu Xian’s arm. After injecting the potion, she returned to Phia’s side.

“Inject the second one in five minutes.”

“Yes!”

Phia watched Wu Xian; his body displayed the same reaction as the mole—he began to convulse.

“Is everything really alright?”

Nirvana was somewhat worried; he asked Nia, who shook her head.

“There wasn’t enough time for more experiments. We can only say that the mole displayed the same reaction.”

“Alright.”

Five minutes—in the past, it might have been something to joke about, but now, to those present, these five minutes were exceptionally long.

Bal kept his eyes fixed on his pocket watch. Seeing that five minutes were almost up, Bal began the countdown.

“Ten seconds left, Nia!”

“I know!”

Nia ran out, positioning herself where Phia’s Gravity Magic couldn’t reach. Seeing Bal’s signal, she injected the potion into the same spot.

Nia returned to Phia’s side, already preparing the third potion. But at that moment, monsters, drawn by the battle, came to interfere. Bal and Grey were about to intervene, but Nirvana stopped them.

“Leave these to me. You focus on Wu Xian.”

“Then we’ll trouble you. Take this, for self-defense.”

Bal patted Nirvana’s shoulder, giving him his short sword. Nirvana accepted the short sword and held it in his free hand. He limped towards the monsters. At that moment, rain began to fall, wetting everyone’s faces.

“Nia, get ready.”

Bal patted Nia’s shoulder. Nia nodded, her right hand clutching the last potion. When the time came, Nia enhanced her body and dashed out. Resisting Phia’s Gravity Magic, she held the syringe high and injected the potion into Wu Xian. For a moment, the Beast God’s markings briefly appeared on her body.

After injecting the potion, all they could do was wait. Phia and Grey observed Wu Xian’s condition. Bal grew impatient; he drew his long sword and went towards Nirvana, only to see the bloodied Nirvana limping back.

“No need to come over, I’ve killed them all.”

“Are you not hurt?”

“Are you underestimating me?”

“Just worried.”

“How’s Wu Xian?”

Nirvana looked at Wu Xian, who was still enduring Phia’s Gravity Magic, though Phia had now reduced her magic output.

“We have to wait; nobody knows what will happen next.”

“Alright.”

Nirvana went to Phia’s side; he was also anxious.

“About how long?”

“Hard to say. Though the reaction after the injection is the same, considering the difference between Wu Xian and the mole, I think we need to wait for over ten minutes.”

“Alright.”

Everyone stood there watching Wu Xian, whose struggles had lessened considerably. Thirteen minutes after the injection, Wu Xian’s berserk symptoms subsided. Phia immediately released the Gravity Magic, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

“It seems to have worked.”

“Can it be cured?”

“It’s difficult. All we can do now is help him extend his already short lifespan. Next, it depends on whether he can escape that shadow.”

“I understand.”

Nirvana, leaning on his cane, walked to Wu Xian’s side. Wu Xian opened his eyes and looked at Nirvana.

“Shopkeeper.”

“Are you feeling better?”

“Not really. My body feels like it’s been crushed by stones.”

“Do you remember what happened?”

Wu Xian shook his head.

“Sorry, Shopkeeper. Did I go berserk again?”

“Yes, but Phia and Nia have injected you with the potion to treat you. Rest now.”

“Shopkeeper, I have a request.”

“What?”

“Kill me.”

Phia, who was examining Wu Xian’s body in the distance, suddenly sensed something amiss.

“No good, Wu Xian is going berserk again!”

Hearing Wu Xian’s words, Nirvana’s eyes widened. He couldn’t understand why Wu Xian would say that.

“Why? Give me a reason.”

“Shopkeeper, I feel magic surging within me. Soon, I’ll go berserk again. Shopkeeper, please, kill me. I’m tired.”

“How… how could this be…”

Nirvana collapsed beside Wu Xian. Wu Xian grabbed Nirvana’s cane; he knew there was a blade hidden inside and also knew his most vulnerable spot.

“Shopkeeper, I’ve enjoyed working with you, but I have to go ahead. I’m sorry, Shopkeeper.”

As he spoke, Wu Xian’s body began to convulse; one of his eyes turned red. Bal and the others sensed Wu Xian’s anomaly, and they all drew their weapons.

“Don’t come closer!”

Nirvana shouted from where he was.

“I can handle it!”

Nirvana grasped the blade’s hilt; his expression was impassive as he plunged the blade into Wu Xian’s temple. As Nirvana acted, Wu Xian showed a look of relief.

“Thank you, Shopkeeper.”

“Sleep, Wu Xian.”

After ending Wu Xian’s life, everyone stood there, letting the rain fall on their faces.

Wu Xian was dead.
