Blade Catchers – Chapter 370

The Cave

Ch 370: The Cave

Xu Liang and Liu Ke cautiously continued along the cave passage, the light growing dimmer, and the surrounding environment becoming increasingly sinister.

As they walked, they finally saw some stone bowls scattered on the ground, with what seemed to be food scraps remaining in them. Seeing this, Liu Ke whispered to Xu Liang, “It seems someone lived here before, and not too long ago. We must be extra careful when we go inside; there might be some danger waiting for us.”

Xu Liang nodded, indicating understanding. The two continued to move forward slowly, the cave passage gradually widening. They could even see a few faint lights flickering in the distance.

However, at that moment, a faint conversation reached their ears. Liu Ke and Xu Liang exchanged glances, immediately becoming nervous. They quickly found a hidden corner to hide in, holding their breath and eavesdropping on the conversation.

“Hey, do you think Master will succeed this time?” a voice asked anxiously.

“How would I know? Who can say for sure about Master’s business?”

“But this time Master captured a Dan Family member, maybe that will help him.”

Hearing the words “Dan Family member,” Liu Ke and Xu Liang both frowned, secretly pondering: A Dan Family member was actually captured.

“Let’s hope so. The Opening of the Furnace is tomorrow; we absolutely can’t have any mistakes.” The second voice sighed.

“By the way, did you feel the wind pick up? Could the Seal outside have loosened?” The first voice suddenly asked anxiously.

“Impossible. Master’s Seal isn’t so easily broken. You must be mistaken.” The second voice quickly reassured, “The Opening of the Furnace is tomorrow. We can’t scare ourselves. We must stay calm.”

Listening to the conversation, Xu Liang and Liu Ke were full of doubt. They decided to investigate after the two left. After a while, the two stood up and walked deeper into the cave. After they had gone far, Xu Liang and Liu Ke came out of hiding and followed the direction of the lights.

Not far away, a fish suddenly swam leisurely past the two. This fish seemed unusual; it had no gills and no eyes, like a ghost, silently moving through the air.

Liu Ke’s gaze was drawn to this peculiar fish. He stared intently at it, questioningly asking the Mantis beside him, “What is this thing?”

The Mantis glanced at the fish and replied nonchalantly, “Oh, that’s an Yinlu Flower Fish.”

“Is there anything special about this thing?”

After a moment’s thought, the Mantis said, “The most special thing about this thing is that you can’t touch it, and it can’t touch you. However, it is said that the person who keeps this fish can see other people through its eyes.”

Liu Ke and Xu Liang exchanged glances, instantly understanding the fish’s function. However, the fish seemed unaware of their existence and continued to swim nonchalantly.

Seeing this, the two continued to walk forward. As they walked, a strange herbal scent gradually entered their noses. This herbal scent was very peculiar, containing not only a blood smell but also an indescribable gamey smell.

The two found the smell increasingly strange, but they didn’t stop, instead quickening their pace to leave the place as soon as possible.

However, at that moment, a series of hurried footsteps came from ahead, accompanied by a man’s shout: “Master, no good! The Seal is gone! Someone broke in!”

The voice revealed a hint of panic and urgency.

Immediately, another voice rang out, with a hint of anger: “Hmm? Which son of a bitch broke in?”

“I… I don’t know!” The previous voice trembled.

“Oh my, what good are you? You didn’t even notice someone coming in!” The angry voice became even louder.

Hearing this conversation, Xu Liang and Liu Ke’s hearts tightened, knowing they had been discovered.

They quickly prepared for battle, gripping their weapons tightly.

At this moment, the man did not search as expected, but instead said, “Yang Ci, Yang Bei.”

“Yes!” Yang Ci and Yang Bei responded in unison.

The man continued, “You two once learned Divine Techniques from me. Now, you two find that son of a bitch.”

“Yes, Master,” Yang Ci and Yang Bei responded without hesitation.

Then, the man pointed to several more people and ordered, “All of you guard here. Absolutely do not let anyone approach the Dan Chamber. If anyone dares to break in, I will not spare you, I will kill without mercy!”

“Yes,” the people who were pointed at responded.

After giving these instructions, the man turned and walked back to the stone house behind him. He walked to the entrance of the stone house, suddenly pushed hard, and a huge stone slowly moved to the “door” of the stone house, completely blocking it.

In the cave, Yang Ci and Yang Bei exchanged glances. Yang Ci looked worried and said to Yang Bei, “Brother, what do we do?”

Yang Bei thought for a moment and replied, “Don’t worry, this cave isn’t big, and there are more than fifty of us. I don’t believe the enemy’s numbers will be more than ours. We’ll just search carefully, and we’ll definitely find him.”

Meanwhile, hidden in the shadows, Xu Liang softly asked Liu Ke, “What should we do next?”

Liu Ke slightly raised the corners of his mouth, showing a resolute expression, and replied, “What else can we do? Fight! Sooner or later they’ll find us, so instead of waiting for death, let’s take the initiative!”

“Good, let’s do it!” A fierce light flashed in Xu Liang’s eyes, and he opened the Sword Case. Six beams of Cold Light shot out like lightning.

Six beams of Cold Light instantly charged into the crowd, and screams rang out. Yang Ci and Yang Bei did not expect the enemy to attack so decisively, and were momentarily thrown into disarray.

Yang Ci hurriedly used a Divine Technique, summoning a Shield to protect his companions. Yang Bei shouted loudly, commanding everyone to counterattack.

Taking advantage of the enemy’s confusion, Xu Liang’s figure flashed, darting through the crowd. His Long Sword continuously waved, the sword shadow flickering, and wherever he passed, blood splattered.

Liu Ke was not to be outdone; he struck several Marks.

Inside the cave, Blade Light and sword shadows flew, and Firelight blazed. Those sent to find them suffered heavy casualties under the Attack of Xu Liang and Liu Ke. But Yang Ci and Yang Bei had learned Divine Techniques, and quickly stabilized the situation, organizing an effective counterattack.

Just as the two sides were at a stalemate, suddenly, a low roar came from the depths of the cave, as if something terrifying was about to awaken. Hearing this sound, Yang Ci and Yang Bei’s faces turned pale, and they cried out in terror, “Damn it, Master’s Treasure has been disturbed!”
