Ch 371: Nosebleed Gourd
A tremendous boom echoed, as if the entire cave were about to collapse. Immediately afterward, a section of the cave wall suddenly exploded, scattering rubble and filling the air with dust. Amidst this chaos, a Strange Thing shot out like lightning.
Liu Ke looked closely and saw an extremely strange Object emerging from the hole in the wall. This Thing looked very strange; it was a pile of organs arranged in an orderly fashion!
These organs seemed to belong to some Creature, but what was puzzling was that the rest of the creature’s body seemed invisible, completely unseen. However, these organs were clearly visible and continued to function, as if this pile of organs were an independent life form.
Liu Ke was astonished. He immediately turned to the Mantis beside him and anxiously asked, “Mantis, what kind of Demon is this?”
The Mantis, hidden in its Clothing, observed the Strange Thing through a gap, its Voice slightly trembling as it replied, “This… this isn’t a Demon.”
Hearing this, Liu Ke swallowed his Saliva and said, “You mean it’s an Evil Calamity!”
The Mantis took a deep breath and slowly said, “Yes, it is an Evil Calamity.”
Liu Ke’s Eyes widened, his face filled with an expression of disbelief.
“You mean, an Evil Calamity that can appear during the day?”
The Mantis nodded, replying affirmatively, “Yes, it’s an Evil Calamity, but whether it can appear during the day…”
Liu Ke subconsciously took a step back, a wave of Fear washing over him. He muttered to himself, “Someone can actually raise an Evil Calamity…”
At that moment, seeing this, Xu Liang unhesitatingly activated his six Flying Swords, which sped toward the Evil Calamity like shooting stars. However, something unexpected happened—the six Flying Swords, just as they were about to strike the Evil Calamity, suddenly seemed to be swallowed by an Invisible Force, disappearing instantly without a trace! Immediately afterward, as if by magic, the six Flying Swords all flew back into Xu Liang’s Sword Case.
“What… what happened?” Xu Liang looked at his Sword Case in astonishment, his face full of Suspicion.
At this time, the Mantis explained, “This is a Nuhu, an extremely rare Evil Calamity. It possesses an ability similar to reversing time; whenever it suffers a fatal Attack, it can return its opponent to their Condition before the danger occurred.”
Liu Ke gripped the Hilt of his Long Sword at his waist, his Knuckles turning white from the force. He stared at the pile of floating organs; a beating Heart suddenly swelled slightly, and the surrounding air seemed to tremble—this was a sign that the Nuhu was about to launch an Attack.
“Xu Liang, don’t force it! You have many swords, but they can’t withstand this!”
Before the words were finished, the Nuhu’s Liver suddenly began to rotate, and a jet of dark green Poison sprayed out like a fountain. Xu Liang hastily summoned his remaining three Flying Swords, intending to weave a defensive net in the air, but as soon as the Flying Swords touched the Poison, they smoked as if corroded by strong acid, and one even broke in two. The broken blade flew back, nailing into the stone wall near Xu Liang’s cheek, the Blood splattering onto his Clothing.
“It really bounced back…” Xu Liang retreated, covering his cheek; his eyes were full of shock as he looked at the broken sword.
Liu Ke seized the Opportunity, stepping forward and pressing his left hand to his forehead. A Mark resembling a Flame lit up on his forehead. As the Mark glowed, his Long Sword suddenly became scorching hot, the Patterns on the Blade completely illuminating, as if magma were flowing within.
“This is the ‘Five Nuo Seal,’ it can temporarily tear apart illusory power!” Liu Ke shouted, charging toward the Nuhu under the glow of the Mark. “Xu Liang, distract it with your Flying Swords, I’ll strike its core!”
Xu Liang immediately understood, controlling his two remaining Flying Swords to circle the Nuhu at high speed, the Blade Light like dancing silver snakes. The Nuhu was indeed attracted by the Flying Swords, its floating organs beginning to move erratically, clearly preparing to counter the Flying Swords’ Attack.
At that moment, Liu Ke’s Long Sword, carrying fierce Golden Light, slashed forward, the Blade wind aiming straight for the constantly beating Heart in the center of the Nuhu.
“Now!” the Mantis suddenly shouted, “Its time-reversal Ability is weakest against Mark-type Attacks!”
The Nuhu seemed to sense the danger, its Heart contracting sharply, and the surrounding organs instantly coalescing into a mass.
But Liu Ke’s sword had already fallen, the Golden Blade Light cleaving the air, striking heavily against the mass of organs.
A piercing shriek rang out, and the Nuhu’s mass of organs trembled violently, several kidney-like Organs exploding directly, splashing dark green liquid all over Liu Ke.
But the next second, Liu Ke suddenly groaned, staggering back a few steps, clutching his lower abdomen, Blood welling up at the corner of his mouth.
He looked down and saw a deep Wound on his lower abdomen, identical to the cut on the Nuhu.
“Half the damage was reflected…” Liu Ke gritted his teeth, wiping away the Bloodstains. The Mark on his forehead dimmed due to overuse. “But it’s definitely injured!”
Xu Liang seized the opportunity, throwing the broken sword’s Hilt at the Nuhu. The broken sword suddenly exploded in mid-air, its fragments raining down like shooting stars onto the floating organs. The Nuhu’s Heart swelled again, attempting to activate its time-reversal Ability, but this time it was half a beat too slow—although half the fragments were reflected back, several still pierced into its lung-like Organs.
“Effective!” Xu Liang’s Eyes lit up. “Liu Ke, how much longer can your Mark last?”
Liu Ke wiped the sweat from his face, his Long Sword supporting him as he stood unsteadily. “I can use it once more… but this time I must hit its Heart!”
The Nuhu seemed to be completely enraged, all its Organs suddenly turning toward Liu Ke simultaneously. Countless fine blood vessels appeared on the surface of its beating Heart, forming a net-like covering over his head. This time, it was going to use its most deadly Attack.
The two immediately attacked it from both sides, but suddenly the two appeared twelve steps away, their wounds unhealed, while the Nuhu’s wounds were healed.
“Damn it, Evil Calamities are truly difficult to deal with.”
Just as Liu Ke and Xu Liang felt despair, the Mantis suddenly emerged from Liu Ke’s Clothing, shouting, “I have a Method! Liu Ke, use the Five Nuo Seal again, but don’t attack this time, wait for my signal. Xu Liang, prepare everything you can use to Attack.”
Although Liu Ke and Xu Liang were Doubtful, they could only comply. Liu Ke once again activated the Five Nuo Seal, two golden Marks appearing on his hands.
“Liu Ke, use the Five Nuo Seal to trick it. Your Five Nuo Seal can’t be used to kill, but it can be used to deceive, right?”
Liu Ke understood. He pretended to attack the Nuhu with all his might, the Five Nuo Seal on his body radiating brightly, making a show of preparing to strike. The Nuhu fell for it, quickly activating its time-reversal Ability, preparing to withstand the imminent Attack.
But soon it found that the two people had disappeared, which greatly puzzled the Nuhu.
