Chapter 329: Fairy Jiji
The sunlight released by the Sunlight Mushroom was not intense, and it was warm, just right for the fairy born from nature to recover. Right now, Owen could see that the complexion of the fairy lying on it was recovering, and her posture had also changed from the initial tense and uncomfortable curl to a relaxed, spread-eagle position. Her expression was very comfortable, but Owen still couldn’t tell the fairy’s gender. As for lifting the leaf-made clothes, he wasn’t that vulgar. After all, what’s the difference between that and licking a goddess figurine?
However, Owen was really curious because fairies have three genders. Initially, they are neutral, and when they are mature enough, they will transform according to their own will. This generally happens after they come into contact with humans or elves. Otherwise, carefree fairies wouldn’t even be aware of gender issues and would never mature. This is also a kind of happiness because maturity comes at a price.
After watching for a long time, Owen suddenly felt that as long as the looks were good, gender wasn’t really that important. The fairy in front of him had delicate features and was light and delicate, easy to push down. If she fell into the hands of certain people, she would probably live a life of being a delicacy.
Thinking of this, Owen couldn’t help but shake his head. From what he knew about fairies, this was very common. Because fairies who drink morning dew, eat fruit, and sleep among flowers exude a fresh scent similar to a mixture of floral and fruity fragrances, their bodily fluids are even sweeter and more delicious. Many people even like to drink fairies’ bathwater, believing it to be refreshing, beautifying, and kidney-nourishing. Anyway, with the fairies’ size, a teacup is just right, perfect for soaking and then drinking.
Drink bathwater.
Owen shook his head again, thinking those people were really perverted. Even beautiful women fart and poop, what’s so good about bathwater?
But, if it’s a fairy…
Owen’s gaze gradually became strange. Fortunately, Kotana was by his side, bringing him back to his senses.
Not knowing how long it would take for the fairy to wake up, Owen told Kotana to go take a bath first, and he would go later.
However, when arranging the room for sleeping, Kotana refused to sleep alone and wanted to sleep with Owen.
Unfortunately, Owen wasn’t very confident about his current moral state, so he ultimately decided to sleep here together. Anyway, with carpets, a kotatsu, and a fireplace tended by Ailu, they wouldn’t freeze.
After an unknown amount of time, the groggy Jiji swayed as she tried to sit up, but the Sunlight Mushroom was too slippery. She lost her grip and slid right off the mushroom. With a cry of “Ouch!”, Jiji desperately flapped her wings, but before she could take flight, she plunged headfirst into the soft soil.
Fortunately, fairies are light and delicate, and their dragonfly-like wings aren’t just for show. Their flapping frequency is extremely fast, providing some cushioning. So, the fall wasn’t serious. She rubbed her head and stood up.
“This!” Jiji looked at the vibrant jungle in front of her with a shocked face, as if she had returned to the past. At that time, the mountains were green, the water was clear, and everyone played among the flowers all day long, foraging for food in the forest. When they were thirsty, they cupped their hands to drink dewdrops, and when they were hungry, they hugged berries and ate them in big mouthfuls. Occasionally, they would exchange honey with bees and be happy for a long time.
Unfortunately, disaster struck. A big hole appeared in the sky, the ground was shattered, and the whole world was falling apart.
The Fairy Queen took the remaining fairies and hid in the Divine Stone, waiting for the day when the disaster would pass. But more and more fairies fell into a deep sleep due to weakness, leaving only Jiji, who had been entrusted with an important task by the Fairy Queen, to wait alone for the day when the disaster would pass, and then take hope to awaken everyone.
But as time passed, loneliness and despair increasingly gnawed at her heart. Sometimes, Jiji felt that day would never come.
The excited Jiji flapped her wings hard and flew up. The natural power emitted by the surrounding plants automatically gathered around Jiji, turning into specks of light that fell down like dust and then disappeared into the air, leaving only a short trail of light dust.
But soon Jiji, who was flying in the air, discovered that she had not come to a new world, but that the Divine Stone had become strange.
The Divine Stone was occupied?!
When Jiji realized this, she was completely dumbfounded, so stunned that she even forgot to flap her wings. If she hadn’t been flying low, she wouldn’t have just landed on the Sunlight Mushroom and been bounced off by its round and plump shape. Instead, she would have been flattened and ready to be used for making tea, only good for one brew.
“My home is occupied, what should I do, what should I do!” Jiji paced anxiously, not noticing a pair of cat eyes that were already close at hand. It was only when she was swatted to the ground like a fly with a paw that she belatedly began to tremble.
Fairies are so small that facing Ailu is like humans facing a Tyrannosaurus Rex. It’s not bad that she didn’t pee her pants on the spot.
“Don’t eat Jiji!” Jiji cried out in fear, but instead of sharp teeth and a gaping maw, what came was a juicy grape.
“Don’t be noisy, Master is sleeping.” Ailu filled a fruit shell with water and carefully placed it in front of Jiji, whispering.
“Eh?” Jiji blankly lowered her head and took a bite of the grape. The sweet flesh proved that she wasn’t dreaming, so she slowly calmed down. Jiji didn’t sense any malice from Ailu, nor did she perceive any danger.
Although fairies are useless, they are very sensitive to good and evil, but they are easily deceived. At the moment, a grape and a shell of water made Jiji regard Ailu as a friend who could share food with her.
“You have a Master?” Jiji didn’t quite understand what “Master” meant, but judging from Ailu’s appearance, it must be a great existence like the Fairy Queen.
“Yes, Ailu’s Master is great and benevolent.” Ailu liked Jiji very much and brought more fruit to entertain this little friend.
Having to rely on stored, shriveled, and moldy nuts for sustenance, Jiji hadn’t eaten fresh fruit for a long, long time. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have thought she was dreaming when she smelled the aroma and flew out of her hiding place in a daze. Now, looking at the fruit that almost surrounded her, she couldn’t resist.
As she ate, Jiji started to cry, and then she burst into tears.
If she weren’t so small, her cries would have woken Owen and the others long ago. Therefore, Ailu didn’t stop Jiji from crying because she felt that her new friend needed a good cry to let the pain in her heart flow away with her tears.
Jiji cried for an unknown amount of time, then she took the initiative to talk about her experiences, including her longing for her former home, her hope for the future, and her current despair and loneliness.
“Master is a powerful lord. Not only does he have a vast territory, but he also has a forest. You can ask Master to take you in. You don’t eat much anyway.” Ailu helped to come up with ideas. She felt that her benevolent Master wouldn’t refuse because he was too rich and too benevolent.
Jiji was moved by her words, especially after learning that the plants here were all cultivated by Ailu’s Master. She made an important decision: to awaken the Fairy Queen.
Jiji alone couldn’t awaken the Fairy Queen because the Queen was too weak now. So, she had to find someone to help, and the best candidate was her new friend’s Master.
