Chapter 46: The T-Virus and the Gorgon
It was not until spring was approaching that Owen was ready. He had delayed many things for this, but he believed it was worth it. If successful, this would not only be Maya’s rebirth, but also proof that his thinking was correct.
Owen took Maya through the dungeon passage in his study to the secret chamber. This was her first time in her master’s most secret place.
“Take off all your clothes and keep only the psychic headband. It will help with your upcoming enhancement.” Owen said to Maya, then carefully opened a suitcase containing two syringes of different colors. If you didn’t know better, they looked like some kind of blue o*al solution. But in reality, these two syringes were the T-virus and the antidote.
“This is the T-virus, and this is the antidote. First, inject the virus from the sole of your foot. You must stay awake and carefully feel the mutation in your body. Once the mutation starts to reach your head, immediately inject the antidote in your neck.” Owen carefully instructed. Although he didn’t know if this method would work, the virus entering from the sole of the foot would definitely reach the brain slower than injecting it in the neck. As for whether the virus would flow throughout the body through the blood vessels, he couldn’t care less. He wasn’t an expert, and he was already prepared for the worst.
Maya took the T-virus and the antidote, and without any hesitation, walked into the Synthesis Furnace, which looked anything but benevolent, staying with a coffin. She wondered if it was prepared for her.
After the T-virus was injected, Owen couldn’t observe the changes inside Maya at all, and could only see the changes in her expression. But Maya’s expression didn’t change at all?
Although serving maids are not agents, their training is just as rigorous, if not more so. Whether it’s noble etiquette or emotional control, serving maids are not allowed to show their emotions easily, because this could mean the difference between life and death. So, it was impossible for Owen to see anything from Maya’s expression.
Just when Owen was wondering if the T-virus wasn’t acclimated, the psychic headband on Maya’s head began to emit a faint light and vibrate constantly. This was a phenomenon that occurred when the psychic power reached the upper limit of the equipment. Obviously, the T-virus was working, and the effect was unexpectedly good. It had actually enhanced Maya’s psychic power so quickly.
When the psychic headband started to crumble, Maya decisively injected the antidote into her neck. She didn’t hesitate for a moment because of the continuous surge of power. Power was never her pursuit.
After Maya injected the antidote, Owen became even more nervous.
Mutation is not a program, it can’t be stopped just by saying stop. If it crosses the critical point, he would have to activate the backup plan before Maya loses her mind, but the consequences would be unpredictable.
Fortunately, Maya did not disappoint him. There were no abnormalities during the observation period. She remained rational, her physical fitness returned to its peak, and her skin became taut and shiny. Obviously, the vitality of the damaged cells had been restored.
But this was not enough. How could Owen, who had been preparing for so long, only have one T-virus enhancement?
In fact, the T-virus was only to give Maya the foundation for a new round of enhancements. The real enhancement was just beginning.
As the Synthesis Furnace started, even though he had seen it countless times, Owen’s palms were still sweating with nervousness. He had a 70% to 80% chance of success with the T-virus enhancement, but only a 50% chance with the second enhancement. If it weren’t for a little selfishness, Maya wouldn’t need the second enhancement at all.
So, if Maya’s enhancement failed, it would be his responsibility. How could Owen not be nervous?
When the Synthesis Furnace opened, Owen unconsciously swallowed. Looking at Maya, who walked out with a unique posture, swaying her hips, he always felt that the long red hair sweeping across her buttocks was moving?
“How do you feel?” Owen picked up the clothes beside him and handed them over, asking with concern.
“I’ve never felt better.” Maya didn’t take the clothes. Instead, she stared at Owen with a strange look. How should I put it? It was like a snake looking at a bird’s egg, and was her tongue a little too long?! It was even forked!
He shouldn’t have chosen a Gorgon as the synthesis material. This was Owen’s only thought as he was pushed down.
The T-virus enhancement was really just the foundation, enhancing Maya’s cell strength and life, while also activating her telekinesis, giving her stronger psychic power. This was the only way she could withstand the drastic changes of fusing with a monster, maintain her self, and dominate her consciousness.
The second enhancement was the main event that Owen had prepared for Maya: a Gorgon.
The advanced form of a poisonous snake is a Basilisk, and the advanced form of a Basilisk is a Gorgon, which is a high-level monster on the same level as the Goblin General.
However, unlike the Goblin General, the Gorgon used as Maya’s synthesis material was an upgraded version, fused with one more piece of hero equipment than the Goblin General. Therefore, although its strength did not reach the level of a super monster fused with a hero’s heart, it was still stronger than the Goblin General, reaching a critical point, belonging to the top-tier units like the Teutonic Knights.
But the Gorgon’s ability is not brute force, but petrification and magic.
Name: Maya, Age: 38, Bloodline: Gorgon, Profession: Head Maid/Warlock, Magic Power: 700/700.
Leadership: 40, Strength: 45, Intelligence: 70, Politics: 60, Charm: 80.
Specialties:
Management: Always able to organize messy affairs in an orderly manner.
Gorgon 15: Petrification +8, Transformation +3, Curse +3, Summoning +1.
Skills: Petrification Ray, Snake Hair Entanglement, Curse Kiss, Viper Summoning.
These are Maya’s current attributes. Even in the Three Kingdoms period, she would be a well-known strategist, not to mention that with magic skills like Petrification Ray, she could even fight a third-rate general with a Strength of 60.
However, Owen did not expect that Maya would become a Warlock through the Gorgon’s bloodline. Apparently, the role of the Synthesis Furnace was far more than what its required exchange progress value could measure.
It was the spring plowing season, and there were a lot of things to deal with every day. So after a pleasant time, Owen was left panting in the secret chamber, while Maya went to work, swaying her mermaid-like waist.
Owen lay on the bed with lifeless eyes, not wanting to move a finger. Before, Maya was just insatiable, but now she had learned to take the initiative to extract.
Owen estimated that he had lost at least three pounds and was mildly dehydrated, not counting the physical exertion. It was terrifying. Just thinking about it now made him shiver, and he couldn’t help but wrap himself tightly in the slightly damp quilt, curling up like a shrimp without a sense of security, and falling into a deep sleep.
After sleeping for almost a day and a night, Owen groggily got up and staggered to the greenhouse. He asked Dier to prepare a p*t of nourishing herbal medicine and drank it before he felt a little warmth.
Just one woman had reduced him to this state. Dier, whom he had booked, was obviously a big stove that used men as firewood just by looking at her appearance. He dared to rush in headfirst without knowing the depth, wasn’t he afraid of setting himself on fire?
He really didn’t know how those nobles in the Empire managed to have a bunch of women and still handle it with ease.
Owen once again couldn’t help but want to enhance himself, but considering the future, he suppressed this urge.
Even without Superman’s bloodline, the Nephalem from Diablo would do. The hybrid of angel and demon, surpassing both, known as the first generation of humans with limitless potential.
If he had these two options, he would be willing to save up progress values for ten years, but unfortunately he didn’t.
