Chapter 26: No Need for Goodbyes, We’ll See Each Other Soon
“We are here, we are here! Didn’t we come?” Hearing this, Qiang Ge hurriedly ran over with a smile.
If he didn’t act understanding now, his wife would explode in the next second.
“Yeah, Mom,” seeing this, the girl also chimed in and followed.
“If I hadn’t said anything, you two wouldn’t have come!” The woman scolded angrily, placing a plate in front of Li Li: “Come on, Big-Faced Cat, it’s time to eat. You big chubby guy, eat more. This should be your last meal at our house.”
“Meow~( Alright, thank you, Auntie. )” Li Li, looking at the three steaks and two eggs on the plate, licked his lips and said.
This trip was truly worthwhile; having steak for breakfast. The food quality instantly jumped a level.
Compared to him, his clear-headed Litter Shovel Officer was probably still gnawing on toast, right?
“Big-Faced Cat, is the steak delicious? If you get hungry in the future, you can always come to my house for dinner.” Sitting beside him, the girl said while stroking Li Li’s big head.
“Meow~( You said it yourself! Then I won’t be polite. )” Li Li, who was eating, paused and replied.
He didn’t care if the other party was being polite or meant it; he would definitely come over to eat in the future.
“Do you know how far it is from Sleepless City to here? A full six kilometers, and that’s the straight-line distance. Do you want to run this little guy to death?” The woman, cutting the steak, said with a smile, “Don’t let Big-Faced Cat turn into Thin-Faced Cat, all his fat gone from running.”
“Wouldn’t that be better? Then Big-Faced Cat can eat more.” The girl said, stroking Li Li’s big head, “Big-Faced Cat, stay well over in Sleepless City. When I have time, I’ll go visit you. Don’t forget about me.”
“Meow~( I won’t forget, I won’t forget. I may not have other skills, but I have a good memory, especially for those who are generous. )” Li Li muttered to himself as he finished all the meat on the plate.
Then, he sat on the chair, blinking his big eyes, looking at the family of three in front of the table, waiting for them to finish eating and take him back.
“This little cat eats really fast. An ordinary family probably couldn’t afford to raise you, right?” Seeing this, the woman couldn’t help but say. If she hadn’t seen it with her own eyes, she wouldn’t have believed a cat could eat so fast.
She had only cut a few slices of her steak, and the meat on the plate had been completely devoured by this Big-Faced Cat.
It was hard to imagine what kind of family could afford to raise Big-Faced Cat.
“So why don’t we just go ahead and keep Big-Faced Cat? That way we can help him ease his family’s burden.” The girl’s eyes lit up as she spoke.
Since Big-Faced Cat was such a burden on his family, they might as well make it even heavier.
“Honey, we can’t do that. We can’t take things that don’t belong to us. Besides, Big-Faced Cat might be family to someone else, do you understand?” The woman, after hearing this, put down her cutlery and educated her daughter.
They weren’t barbarians or bandits; how could they just s*atch something that belonged to someone else?
“Okay, I understand.” The girl lowered her head and dared not speak again.
If she continued talking like this, she guessed even her father would scold her.
“Alright, a family should be happy when they eat breakfast together. I’m done eating, sweetie, hurry up.” Qiang Ge put down his cutlery, got up, and went to get his briefcase.
“Okay.” The girl replied, quickly finished her steak, and went to get her schoolbag.
Li Li was left sitting on the chair, blinking his big eyes at the woman.
Seeing this, the woman couldn’t help but scratch Li Li’s chin and smiled:
“Alright, Big-Faced Cat, you can go home now. Bye-bye, you chubby fellow.”
“Meow~( Bye-bye, see you tonight. )” Li Li replied. He had already unlocked a new food refresh point and developed a new temporary Litter Shovel Officer. Of course, he had to come over whenever he had the chance; otherwise, he wouldn’t be doing justice to their invitation.
“Big-Faced Cat, let’s go. I’ll take you home.” While Li Li was muttering, the girl picked him up: “Mom, see you at noon. Big-Faced Cat and I are going downstairs.”
“Okay, remember to put Big-Faced Cat back where he came from.” The woman reminded her.
“Don’t worry, Mom. I’m very reliable.” The girl laughed, stroking Li Li’s big head as she walked downstairs.
“Honey, I’m leaving.” Qiang Ge said, holding his briefcase, and followed them out the door.
“Okay, drive carefully. Remember to take Big-Faced Cat back.” The woman reminded him.
“Okay.” Qiang Ge nodded in response, closed the door, and left.
Twenty minutes later, in front of the closed night snack shop, a small car stopped. Two figures got out of the car.
“Dad, is this where Big-Faced Cat lives?” The girl looked around and asked.
This was Big-Faced Cat’s neighborhood? It seemed quite big.
“Yes, this is where the little cat lives.” Qiang Ge said, looking down at his watch, “Alright, put the cat down. We should get going, don’t waste too much time here.”
“Okay.” The girl nodded and put Li Li down: “See you in a few days, Big-Faced Cat. Don’t forget me, my name is Yue Yue.”
“Meow~( I won’t forget, see you tonight. )” Li Li replied, watching the two get back into the car.
“Bye-bye, Big-Faced Cat.” Yue Yue shouted, rolling down the window. The car turned a corner and drove away.
“Meow~( Bye-bye, bye-bye. )” Li Li muttered, turning his head. It was still early. Let him see if there were any kind-hearted people nearby willing to feed a poor little kitty.
“Steamed buns, fried dough sticks, steamed dumplings! Come and buy them if you want, come and buy them! Selling steamed buns, selling steamed buns!”
The loudspeaker at the entrance of the steaming bun shop kept blaring. Passersby, rushing to their destinations, bought their buns and continued on their way.
As they walked, their eyes were always drawn to a chubby figure approaching.
“Mimi, you look so sad. Is something bothering you?” A white-collar worker, holding steamed dumplings, stopped in front of Li Li and asked.
Why did this tabby cat look so pitiful? What kind of grievance could make a carefree kitty look like this?
“Meow~( I’m……touching porcelain, no! I’m looking for kind-hearted people. )” Li Li replied, lowering his eyes and pouting slightly, showing a pitiful expression.
He was a master at acting pitiful to beg for food.
Just by slightly raising his head, he had already fooled the other party.
