How is this Dragon so Popular? – Chapter 13

Ch 13: Let's Make Some Clothes

Ch 13: Let’s Make Some Clothes

After Ge Wei and the Winged Human left, the Winged Human took her back to their tribe.

Ge Wei had previously agreed to give them a 20% discount on her next visit to sell goods, but it was only a verbal agreement. They needed Ge Wei to sign a written agreement with them.

This was experience the Winged Humans had gained after suffering countless losses; all agreements must be documented in writing.

Ge Wei didn’t mind and went with them to the tribe.

Their tribe was located in a forest of towering trees, and their houses were built in the trees.

After signing the agreement, the Tribe Leader happily entertained Ge Wei.

This was extremely important to them.

Ge Wei returned to Wickel City the next day.

Upon entering Wickel City, she found that a section of the city wall had collapsed, and a construction crew was repairing it.

The highest point in the city was Butri Castle, and now half of Butri Castle was charred black, with one corner also collapsed.

Ge Wei was shocked and guessed that the Black Dragon was responsible.

She returned to the trading caravan and inquired with her subordinates, only to learn that the Black Dragon had attacked Wickel City yesterday.

Fortunately, magicians and paladins intervened, preventing the Black Dragon from causing much trouble.

“Guild Master, it’s a pity you weren’t here yesterday. There was a Black Dragon wearing armor, wielding a weapon—an iron rod—and beating the soldiers to a pulp.”

“Yes, it turns out the rumors in the city these past few days were true.”

“Unfortunately, they flew north. The magicians who pursued them said they had already left the territory of the Wickel Duchy. Otherwise, Guild Master, you could have seen them too.”

Ge Wei felt a pang of sadness: Had they left?

She had finally befriended a dragon and hoped to do business with him in the future, but now he was gone.

It might be difficult to see him again.

After regaining her composure, Ge Wei said, “Who said I wasn’t here yesterday?”

Her subordinate was slightly startled, but quickly reacted, remembering that the Guild Master had specifically changed clothes before leaving yesterday.

That subordinate slapped their mouth: “Yes, yes, yes, the Guild Master was here all day yesterday.”

Ge Wei changed back into her usual clothes and then went to Butri Castle to see Dir.

Dir was directing servants to repair the walls; an iron rod was on his desk.

Ge Wei saw the iron rod. Wasn’t that Chen Wen’s weapon?

A strange look flashed in her eyes, but she quickly looked away.

“Dir, are you alright!”

Dir turned around, saw her arrival, and a slight smile appeared on his worried face.

“Miss Ge Wei, I’m fine.” Dir invited Ge Wei to sit down. “Is everything alright at your merchant guild?”

“The merchant guild is fine.”

Dir sighed, looking at the large iron rod on the table, and said, “Do you think there really are dragons in this world who use weapons?”

“Haven’t you seen one?” Ge Wei said.

Chen Wen’s weapon being here means he must have met Chen Wen.

“I still can’t believe it. Dragons are so proud, so confident in their own strength. Why would they use external objects as weapons?” Dir said.

“Perhaps they died too much and finally figured it out,” Ge Wei said.

This statement enlightened Dir. Dir frowned and pondered for a long time, then said, “If that’s the case, then we’re in trouble. If the dragons abandon their pride and begin to learn from humans, then humanity will be in trouble.”

Ge Wei was startled. She hadn’t expected her casual remark to make him think so deeply, especially since he wasn’t interested in politics.

“If humanity is in trouble, that’s a problem for the kingdom and the church. Don’t worry about it,” Ge Wei said.

Dir’s brow relaxed. Yes, that’s something the kingdom and the church should worry about.

“Look at me, I’m worrying unnecessarily. It’s just three dragons anyway, and the one who uses weapons is still a young dragon. They shouldn’t be able to cause much trouble in the short term.”

Ge Wei picked up on some unusual information.

Three dragons? Wasn’t there four?

It seems I should go back to the valley another day.

The two chatted for a while.

Ge Wei then left.

On the way, she saw the distraught Tailin and inquired with the maid who was guiding him.

The maid knew he was a good friend of Dir’s, so she didn’t hide anything.

Apparently, Enqi led troops out to capture the Black Dragon. On the way, they encountered the Black Dragon, and half of the soldiers were killed by the Dragon Flame.

Several of the five magicians and five paladins also died.

Enqi himself was injured.

Tailin was lucky and was unharmed.

However, Enqi didn’t intend to let him off. He said that there was only one injured Mother Dragon and one young dragon who used weapons in the valley.

This is bullshit! The Mother Dragon wasn’t injured, and there were two young dragons.

Enqi was injured, and more importantly, he lost face in front of his father and older brother. He took his anger out on the man who brought false intelligence, demanding that he pay the price.

But Tailin was from the kingdom, so it wasn’t easy to kill him. He was dissuaded by the Duke, and after paying a small sum of money, he was let go.

Of course, this “small sum” was from the Duke’s perspective. Tailin paid Enqi all the money he had earned from this trade, including the cost of goods.

That’s almost half his fortune.

Ge Wei ignored him and returned to her merchant guild.

…………

In the valley, after the Mother Dragon and the Second and Third Sisters left, only Chen Wen remained. He wasn’t sad.

Perhaps dragons don’t have the concept of family, and he didn’t consider himself one of them.

Or maybe he was used to it. After all, in his past life, every time he opened his eyes, he was surrounded by medical equipment.

Every day, he flew freely in his territory. When he was hungry, he would catch prey and have a barbecue in the valley.

He even specifically bought seasoning from the villagers of Yangqiu Village. He lived a rather comfortable life.

A few days later, Ge Wei came to Yangqiu Village and learned from the villagers that Chen Wen was still in the valley. She was delighted.

She came to the valley, but Chen Wen wasn’t there. He had gone to patrol his territory.

It wasn’t until evening that Chen Wen returned, carrying his prey.

Seeing Ge Wei waiting for him in the valley, he was also happy. The valley had been lonely with only him for the past few days.

Ge Wei and Chen Wen entered the valley and saw various animal hides piled up by Chen Wen. Her eyes lit up.

While many of the hides were sheepskin, there were also many from ferocious beasts.

These hides from ferocious beasts were valuable and could fetch a good price.

Doing business with Chen Wen didn’t necessarily mean selling him things; buying from him was also an option.

He was a dragon, and he would consume many beasts regularly, so there would certainly be no shortage of hides in the future.

They talked business while eating.

Although Chen Wen wasn’t short of money, he didn’t dislike having more. Those hides were useless to him anyway.

Speaking of hides, he suddenly realized something: He had been naked since transmigrating to this world.

Should he get some clothes to cover himself?

Considering that he would eventually grow to over twenty meters tall and fifty or sixty meters long, making clothes based on his current size wouldn’t work.

So he ordered a set of clothes in his adult size from Ge Wei.

Hearing that Chen Wen wanted to order clothes, Ge Wei was surprised. What dragon wears clothes?

But when she thought about Chen Wen, she understood.

Making such large clothes would require a lot of fabric pieced together, a considerable undertaking.

Moreover, making such large clothes would easily arouse suspicion, so it would be best to have the Winged Humans make them. After all, they knew of Chen Wen’s existence.

The key was that she had a good relationship with the Winged Humans and could trust them.

Ge Wei also had selfish motives. The Winged Humans were very poor, and she hoped to bring them some income.

After finalizing the details, Chen Wen paid a deposit. Ge Wei rested in the village for a night, and the next day, she had the two Winged Humans from last time come and pick her up to their tribe to discuss making the clothes.

The Winged Humans were very happy to receive the deposit and repeatedly assured her that they would definitely make the clothes well and keep Chen Wen’s secret.

Chen Wen, suffering from a congenital disease, could only lie on the hospital bed his entire life. At 20 years old, his life came to an end. Before he left, he looked at the small world outside the window, his eyes filled with longing and unwillingness. When he woke up again, he found himself transformed into a black dragon. Dragons are powerful and have long lifespans. He decided that in this life, he would travel to every corner of the world. ... Many years later. "Have you heard? The Church's Holy Knight Legion and the Magicians' Guild joined forces to attack the black dragon but failed, suffering heavy losses!" "What! Are there many black dragons? Is the Dragon Clan making a comeback?" "No, no, there's only one black dragon." "One black dragon? The Holy Knight Legion and the Magicians' Guild joined forces and still lost?" "Of course! I heard that black dragon was wearing demon-repelling armor and wielding a large wolf-tooth club; both are equipment comparable to sacred artifacts." "How come I heard that black dragon defeated the Holy Knight Legion and the Magicians' Guild using magic." "Don't be ridiculous! Black dragons aren't people, how could they wear armor and wield weapons? You're even more ridiculous, using magic! With the single-mindedness of the Dragon Clan, can they learn magic?" "You know what, that black dragon is indeed popular among people."

why does a dragon need clothes, it doesn’t have primary or secondary sexual characteristics to hide for modesty.
