Ch 384: Put Down The Statue
They divided their tasks. The White-robed Servant was responsible for pursuing Chen Wen, while the Giant King charged recklessly, blocking Chen Wen’s path.
Soon, a large area of buildings was leveled by the Giant King. Chen Wen’s maneuvering space shrank, forcing him to change positions.
Chen Wen began to feel fatigued. The loss of life force hadn’t significantly reduced his strength, but his stamina had deteriorated considerably.
He couldn’t sustain a full-power battle for long.
This wouldn’t work. Soon, he wouldn’t be able to stop them.
He pondered for a moment. He decided to target the weaker opponent. Of the two, the White-robed Servant was slightly weaker.
Chen Wen aimed to attack him, weaving through several alleys.
The White-robed Servant pursued relentlessly but once again lost him.
The Giant King blocked from the other side. Although they didn’t see Chen Wen, they knew he was in those alleys.
The two searched from different directions.
Chen Wen hid around a corner, climbed onto a roof, jumped back into the alley he’d just passed through, and stealthily approached the White-robed Servant from behind, swinging his spiked club at the back of his head.
Sensing danger, the White-robed Servant immediately rolled forward to dodge. Chen Wen’s spiked club missed, and he spun around, sweeping with his tail.
The White-robed Servant rolled on the ground, and before he could stand up, he was struck squarely by Chen Wen’s tail, flying into a building.
Hearing the commotion, the Giant King rushed over.
While the Giant King hadn’t yet arrived, Chen Wen launched a fierce attack on the White-robed Servant.
The White-robed Servant desperately defended himself.
Chen Wen didn’t expect to eliminate the White-robed Servant with a single surprise attack; that was unrealistic.
Seeing the Giant King arrive, he quickly climbed over a building and ran into another alley.
The Giant King charged forward, ignoring the injured White-robed Servant, smashing through buildings in pursuit.
Chen Wen had just landed in the alley and hadn’t yet steadied himself when the buildings around him collapsed, sending a shower of gravel down.
Chen Wen quickly dodged, simultaneously pointing his staff, and a bolt of lightning struck into the dust cloud.
A muffled groan came from within, followed by several boulders flying out of the dust cloud. The Giant King charged out from the dust cloud, holding a stone pillar in both hands, following behind the boulders, swinging the pillar at Chen Wen.
Chen Wen swung his spiked club, knocking away the flying boulders.
The Giant King’s swinging pillar was instantly upon him. Chen Wen quickly cast defensive magic to block the pillar.
The Giant freed one hand, aimed his palm at Chen Wen, and a beam of light shot from his palm towards Chen Wen’s chest.
Chen Wen had armor and scales underneath, so he wasn’t worried. He smashed the pillar and then dodged the Giant King’s Holy Light magic.
He glanced at his armor; a hole had been burned into it, but it hadn’t been pierced.
The White-robed Servant gave himself a quick healing, then ran to surround Chen Wen.
Chen Wen quickly ran into another alley, and the Giant King continued to smash through buildings in pursuit.
Chen Wen’s fatigue intensified, and the Giant King and White-robed Servant pressed closer.
“So you like smashing buildings, huh!” Chen Wen thought to himself.
He turned and ran towards the church.
The Giant King, consumed by anger, blindly pursued, not noticing Chen Wen running towards the church.
The White-robed Servant gradually found the surrounding terrain increasingly familiar.
While still doubtful, he burst from the alley into an open area. He then realized that the church was ahead, and on the other side, the Giant King was charging forward with a fist aimed at the church.
“Stop! It’s a church!” the White-robed Servant shouted.
Only then did the Giant King clearly see that the building was a church, but he couldn’t stop, and his fist struck the church wall squarely.
Boom~
The church shook violently. Fortunately, the church’s construction was far superior to ordinary houses, preventing it from being completely demolished by the Giant King’s punch.
However, cracks spread like a spiderweb from the point of impact, and the head of a statue on the outer wall fell off.
“Uh~!” The Giant King was somewhat flustered.
This was a great disrespect to the God of Light. He looked at the White-robed Servant with an innocent expression, seemingly asking what to do.
Seeing the cracks and the fallen statue head, the White-robed Servant nearly fainted.
He wanted to scold the Giant King, but this wasn’t the time for infighting; capturing the creature was the priority.
“We’ll deal with this later. Let’s capture that thing first,” the White-robed Servant said.
The Giant King breathed a sigh of relief; the White-robed Servant wasn’t going to explode.
He was about to rush out to chase Chen Wen when the White-robed Servant’s voice came from behind: “No next time.”
The Giant King paused, looked back, and saw that the White-robed Servant had already circled around from the other side. He quickly followed.
Chen Wen could fly and could cross rooftops to reach the other side, so he wasn’t afraid of being surrounded.
Several times, the Giant King instinctively wanted to smash through a wall to pursue, but he stopped himself in time.
This creature was truly disgusting, using the church as a shield.
But soon, Chen Wen did something even more disgusting.
While they were drawn to the back of the church, Chen Wen ran into the Great Hall of the church. Looking at the majestically standing statue, he smiled, then pulled out the statue, including its base.
At that moment, the White-robed Servant and the Giant King reached the church entrance.
“Hahaha! You stupid fool actually ran into the church. Let’s see where you run now!” the Giant King laughed as he charged in.
The White-robed Servant followed closely: “This is a good opportunity. Don’t let him escape.”
They rushed into the Great Hall and saw Chen Wen pulling out the statue and carrying it on his shoulder.
!!!
They immediately stopped, as still as statues.
“Put… put the statue down!” the White-robed Servant said nervously.
The Giant King also threatened: “Put down the statue, or I’ll twist your head off!”
Chen Wen just smiled at them, then swung the statue at them.
The White-robed Servant’s vision went black, but the Giant King managed to remain calm, pulling him back quickly.
Chen Wen carried the statue and chased after them.
Seeing Chen Wen chasing after them with the statue, the White-robed Servant trembled with anger, pointing at Chen Wen and shouting: “This is sacrilege, blatant sacrilege! You will be punished by the God of Light!”
However, Chen Wen ignored him, using the statue as a weapon to attack them.
It was a statue. Chen Wen dared to be careless, but they didn’t dare. They didn’t dare to directly receive Chen Wen’s attacks, nor did they dare to counterattack, fearing they might damage the statue.
They only dared to dodge.
Chen Wen had been chased for half a city, and now it was his turn to chase them.
The Giant King and the White-robed Servant ran separately.
Chen Wen mainly chased the Giant King, but the White-robed Servant didn’t dare to run too far, afraid that Chen Wen would damage the statue, so he only dared to maintain a distance, looking for an opportunity to retrieve the statue.
The Giant King was chased to a house, his back against the wall. Chen Wen swung the statue at him. The Giant King instinctively wanted to dodge, but the White-robed Servant quickly reminded him not to.
If he dodged, the statue would hit the building. What if it was damaged?
The Giant King had to use his body to receive the statue’s impact.
The statue smashed into the Giant King, smashing through the building and sending him into another alley. The building also collapsed.
Chen Wen passed through the collapsed building, continuing to chase and attack the Giant King, just as the Giant King had smashed through buildings to chase him, but this time the roles were reversed.
The White-robed Servant watched with a pounding heart. He wasn’t worried about the Giant King, but about the statue.
Fortunately, the statue’s material was special and not easily broken.
Chen Wen chased and beat the Giant King for half the capital city, smashing countless houses.
The White-robed Servant continuously healed the Giant King; otherwise, who knows what state he would be in.
Although Chen Wen tried to minimize his magic power usage, his body became increasingly fatigued, and his movements slowed. The White-robed Servant noticed this and was looking for an opportunity to grab the statue.
