Chapter 2: Yang Wei and Sheng Xu
A mysterious symbol appeared in Li Feng’s mind, radiating a blinding light.
“Is this the skill imprint?” It was his first time experiencing this. With Global Digitization, learning skills had become simple. As long as one obtained a skill book, they could learn the skill.
However, at the Beginner Level, very few people possessed skills. Most didn’t even have the eligibility to enter dungeons, and coupled with the extremely low drop rate, Beginner Level skills were extremely rare and precious. Only the most powerful and influential families could acquire them.
And Lin Ling’er, who had defeated him, possessed a Beginner Level skill called Inch Strike. Otherwise, Li Feng wouldn’t have been defeated by someone of a higher level.
“I wonder how strong my skill is?” Li Feng felt an itch in his hands, wanting to try it out, but he restrained himself.
If he were discovered, it might lead to more trouble.
He directly opened his attribute panel to see what changes had occurred.
Player: Li Feng.
Class: Unclassed.
Life Level: Beginner Level.
Strength: 5.
Intelligence: 6.
Speed: 7.
Stamina: 4.
Breathing Technique: Pi Xie Breathing Technique.
Skill: Rx Pursuer.
“My Intelligence actually increased by one point.” Li Feng’s eyes widened in delight.
At the Beginner Level stage, as long as one of the three main attributes reached 9 points, one could start preparing for class transfer.
Rx Pursuer was a magic-type skill, directly increasing his Intelligence by one point.
“If I learn two more magic skills, I might be able to consider transferring to a Mage.”
The Mage class was a very expensive profession. For the previous Li Feng, it was only a distant dream, but now it seemed within reach.
“Fortunately, I held back when I was level one. Otherwise, I would probably regret it.” Li Feng felt a sense of relief.
At level one, he could have extracted two skills: Knee Kick and Rising Shot.
However, after seeing the descriptions of those two skills, they were too ordinary, so he chose to give up. Now, he was finally seeing the rewards.
Currently, he only needed some special and powerful skills. Skills like Gatling Gun obviously required a lot of Stamina and Strength, which wasn’t suitable for him.
The skill Silver Bullet was good, but it required a good weapon. In the game, a standard novice pistol was provided for free, but in reality, it was difficult to obtain such a firearm, making it somewhat impractical.
“Continue grinding monsters, test the skill, and level up at the same time. When I reach level ten, new skills will appear.” Li Feng was filled with anticipation.
In the game.
Li Feng directly used the Rx Pursuer skill. He felt a large amount of energy being drained from his mind, accompanied by a feeling of weakness. A hexagonal star formation appeared on the ground, and a silver, rectangular robot emerged from it. With a timer on its back, it charged towards a goblin not far from him.
Boom!
A loud explosion rang out. The goblin collapsed to the ground, its limbs blown off, unable to move. Its health was almost depleted. Li Feng fired more than a dozen shots to finish it off.
The entire process took just over a minute.
And most of that time was wasted on the misses from his follow-up shots.
Li Feng grinned, unable to contain his laughter.
◈◈◈
In the past, it took him half an hour to an hour to kill a single goblin. He had to be extremely careful because a single mistake could result in instant death, forcing him to start over.
It was never this easy. One Rx Pursuer, and the goblin was practically dead.
And so, he immersed himself in the joy of killing monsters.
“Killing monsters with skills is fast, but the consumption is too high.” Ten minutes later, as he was preparing to kill his sixth goblin, he suddenly felt a wave of weakness.
Li Feng in the game and Li Feng in reality were connected. As expected, the sixth summon of Rx Pursuer failed. The commotion alerted a nearby goblin, which immediately charged at him and tore him to pieces.
“Rest for a while, then continue. I should be able to reach level seven today.” Li Feng stopped. The weakness in reality also affected him in the game.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have wasted a whole year.
Just then, three students approached, attracting his attention. Li Feng looked up. There were two males and one female.
However, he wasn’t familiar with them. They probably weren’t very well-known.
“Li Feng, hello. My name is Qin Anran. I’d like to invite you to join us for the Summer Dungeon Hunt.”
Qin Anran was tall, with long, flowing black hair and bright, piercing eyes, but her appearance was quite ordinary.
The two males stood on either side of Qin Anran, their gazes calmly fixed on him.
“Summer Dungeon Hunt.” Li Feng asked curiously, “Why are you inviting me?”
He had heard of this event. It was organized every year for graduating high school students to hone their skills and get accustomed to dungeon life. Participation would add a significant achievement to their resumes, greatly benefiting them whether they went on to university or directly entered the workforce.
The top three performers would also receive bonus points for the Gaokao.
Every graduating class took this event very seriously because a good university meant a better future.
However, Li Feng was surprised that someone was inviting him to participate in the hunt. His year-long obsession with the game had become known throughout the entire grade. Everyone saw him as a hopeless internet addict.
“We’re short one person. The Summer Dungeon Hunt requires teams of at least four to enter.” Qin Anran said candidly, “Also, I don’t believe that you, who was so prominent a year ago, would really fall so far.”
“Are you in or not? Other students have already formed their teams. We’re the only three left in the entire grade.” The male student next to her spoke up.
“Alright, I agree.” Li Feng stood up, dusted off his pants, and said casually, “Introduce yourselves!”
The Summer Dungeon Hunt would be extremely beneficial to him. Li Feng naturally wouldn’t miss it. Moreover, there was still a week before the hunt began. By then, he could raise his game level and maybe even compete for a top-three spot.
“My name is Yang Wei.”
“My name is Sheng Xu.”
The two male students spoke at the same time, wearing lewd smiles.
“Pfft!” Li Feng nearly spat out a mouthful of soda. He looked at them strangely and asked, “Your names are quite… unique. Have you ever had a paternity test with your parents?”
“Screw you.”
Their faces darkened, and they gritted their teeth.
Because of their names, they had been teased a lot in class. It was an eternal pain in their hearts.
The new book has been signed, and the contract has been sent out. Please feel free to add it to your collection.
