Chapter 5: Lin Ling’er
“That internet addict who was obsessed with mobile games for a year, I think his name is Li Feng. I didn’t expect him to have mastered a Beginner skill without realizing it.”
At the training ground, the white-bearded old man smiled as he watched the departing figures. He stopped sweeping, threw the broom aside, and left with his hands behind his back, muttering, “Interesting. The most useless group in the whole grade might bring a big surprise this time.”
Outside the campus! Eight buses were parked there.
By the time Li Feng and the others arrived, the place was already crowded.
“It’s so lively. I wonder which team will get the top three this time? But I’m afraid everyone will be shocked this time. We have a trump card,” Qin Anran said with a smile.
Yang Wei and the others nodded in agreement. They tacitly avoided asking about the origin of Li Feng’s Beginner skill.
Everyone has their own secrets.
Li Feng was happy with this arrangement, as he didn’t want to make up an excuse.
“All students who have chosen their teammates, please come here to register and form temporary teams.”
Several teachers were maintaining order in the distance.
Students in groups of twos and threes walked over. They had already chosen their teammates before entering the dungeon.
“Is that? She’s here too. Isn’t the Summer Dungeon Hunt only for senior students?”
Many people looked at the group forming teams in surprise, with most eyes on a female student, Lin Ling’er.
“This Lin Ling’er is amazing. I heard she defeated several senior students to participate in this event,” someone revealed.
“Hiss, the people teaming up with Lin Ling’er are also impressive. Jiang Sheng, Xu Luo, and Chen Dali,” someone gasped.
Jiang Sheng, the top student in the senior year, wore a white tracksuit. He was tall and had a steady gaze. Rumor had it that both his Stamina and Strength attributes had reached 9 points.
Xu Luo, ranked fifth in the senior year, was the top female student. She was also incredibly strong, but she followed the Mage path, with her Intelligence reaching 8 points.
And finally, Chen Dali, known as the ‘Little Tank’ in the grade, had amazing defense. It was said that his Strength might have reached 9 points.
These three had almost reached the minimum requirements for class transfer.
However, for these three geniuses, they all had their own unique breathing techniques. Prematurely transferring classes before reaching their limits would ruin their future, and no one would do that.
While everyone was focused on Lin Ling’er’s group, Li Feng and the others squeezed their way to Zhou Zhengyang and said, “We want to register as a team.”
“You… are you sure you want to team up?”
Zhou Zhengyang looked at them and frowned. The three lowest-ranked students in the grade were forming a team. How weak would their combat power be? He advised, “This dungeon is not as simple as you think. Compared to previous events, it’s the hardest one yet. Giving up might not be a bad choice.”
“What’s the dungeon for this event?” Li Feng asked, looking up with a calm gaze, without the fear he had imagined, a change from his usual decadent image.
This made Zhou Zhengyang look at him a few more times. He said, “Thunderbolt Gobzan.”
“How could it be that place?” The group exchanged glances.
Li Feng couldn’t help but frown. Chengde County had three Beginner dungeons: Thunderbolt Gobzan, Dark Cat Forest, and Loran Depths.
Loran Depths was the easiest, with monsters that Li Feng usually grinded, goblins.
Dark Cat Forest was a gathering place for cat demons. They were fast, and the environment was dark and densely forested, perfect for ambushes. One moment of carelessness could result in a fatal attack from the darkness.
As for Thunderbolt Gobzan, it was the most dangerous dungeon. The monsters there were also goblins, but unlike those in Loran Depths.
◈◈◈
In the Thunderbolt Gobzan dungeon, those goblins had evolved to a certain extent and developed various skills. For players who hadn’t undergone class transfer, it was a death trap.
Li Feng hadn’t expected the school to go this far, setting the event dungeon in Thunderbolt Gobzan. This would be a great test for his agility.
“That’s why I’m saying you should give up this event. Otherwise, someone might really die,” Zhou Zhengyang said seriously.
“What do you think?” Qin Anran looked at Li Feng. If they had three sets of Basic Armor, she would definitely give it a try. But Li Feng was too fragile and could easily be killed instantly.
Yang Wei and Sheng Xu also looked at him, seemingly deferring to Li Feng’s decision.
This surprised Zhou Zhengyang a little, because Li Feng was the weakest in this group, but he seemed to be the center of it.
“Go. You’ve all been preparing for so long. It wouldn’t be right not to go,” Li Feng smiled, feeling something stir within him.
For the past year, he had been playing mobile games and had never truly faced dungeon monsters.
“That’s right. We even got three sets of Basic Armor, a Magic Pistol, and three Longswords. It would be a huge loss not to go,”
Yang Wei gritted his teeth.
“Basic Armor? You guys managed to get this stuff? You really went all out. No wonder you dare to team up and go into the dungeon. Even some newly promoted Professional players don’t have this stuff.”
Zhou Zhengyang was speechless. Seeing Qin Anran and the other two put on the Basic Armor in front of him, they looked like the foolish children of old landlords.
Then he looked at Yang Wei curiously and asked, “Why is there a big hole in your armor?”
Yang Wei’s face darkened. He didn’t want to talk about it. Should he tell him that he overestimated himself and challenged someone, only to be beaten up?
Qin Anran and Sheng Xu covered their mouths, trying not to laugh.
“They all have Basic Armor to protect them. You’re the one in the most danger in this event. Are you sure you want to participate?” Zhou Zhengyang looked at Li Feng.
“Sure. They’re the main force. I’ll just watch from the sidelines,” Li Feng said calmly.
This made Yang Wei and the others roll their eyes.
“Alright then. I won’t stop you. But remember, your life is the most important thing. If you really can’t make it, don’t hesitate to quit,” Zhou Zhengyang warned.
Li Feng nodded. After registering, they boarded the bus to wait. However, Yang Wei and the others’ attire still attracted a lot of attention.
People around them looked at them with envy and jealousy. “Damn, if I had such a rich dad, I’d dare to solo the Thunderbolt Gobzan dungeon even if I was the lowest-ranked in combat power in the grade.”
“Yang Wei, when we enter the dungeon, lend me the Magic Pistol,” Li Feng, sitting in his seat, said casually.
His class in the game was Gunslinger, so using a pistol was his old profession.
“Can you handle it? If you haven’t practiced with a pistol, it’s hard to hit the monsters,” Yang Wei mumbled, especially since the monsters in the dungeon moved very fast.
But at this moment, Li Feng had already taken out his phone, opened the game 《Hero Legend》, and started grinding.
When his game character reached level 15, new skills would appear.
