Chapter 7: Mage-type Goblins
Bang! Bang!
The goblin threw two more stones, hitting the robot in the face. The Rx Pursuer, under attack, became hot on half of its body, and its speed suddenly increased. With a whoosh, it rushed to the Thrower Goblin’s side.
Boom! A violent explosion sounded, and the Thrower Goblin was blown to pieces. Li Feng’s experience bar surged dramatically.
Ding! “Killed Thrower Goblin. Game character level increased to 11.”
“A damaged Pursuer’s speed actually becomes this fast.” Li Feng was a little surprised. The speed of the reddened robot was so fast that even he had difficulty seeing it clearly. He suspected that only players with a speed value of at least 9 could keep up with the robot’s movements.
Then he felt a little delighted. “The previous goblins were all foolish and didn’t know how to deal with the robot. I didn’t expect to force out one of the Rx Pursuer’s abilities today. This is an unexpected surprise.”
“I can still summon five more robots. Continue exploring.”
Li Feng calmed down and set off again. Now, with Mechanical Heart, his stamina was recovering every moment, greatly enhancing his ability to fight continuously. This was also why he was still playing the game before entering the dungeon.
He had already wasted a year and needed to put in more effort than ordinary people to catch up. Moreover, he could also learn about the dungeon monsters, killing two birds with one stone.
In the game.
Following the forest deeper, the trees became denser, and the view was somewhat obstructed. Li Feng raised his hand and summoned a Pursuer to scout ahead. After walking a few hundred meters, a new situation occurred.
“What’s going on? It’s getting cold around here.” Suddenly, Li Feng in the game shivered, and even the Pursuer in front slowed down.
Whoosh!
An ice pillar shot out from the forest on Li Feng’s left, heading towards the robot. With a crack, a layer of frost formed on the robot.
Li Feng looked in the direction of the sound and found that the attacker was a bluish Ice Goblin, holding a staff, with a cold look in its eyes.
“Hiss, this is a mage-type evolved goblin.” He gasped. The previous Thrower Goblin, although it had skills, was still in the category of physical attacks. But this Ice Goblin could use ice magic.
Outside, players who had transferred to the Mage class were generally called “Mage” (honorific). Although they were fragile, their attack power was terrifyingly high, making them much more popular than ordinary Warrior classes.
“The Thunderbolt Gobzan Dungeon is indeed not that simple. These small monsters are already so difficult to deal with. I wonder how powerful the BOSS is.” Li Feng summoned another Pursuer and attacked the Ice Goblin.
The Ice Goblin, seeing the two Rx Pursuers, looked indifferent. It waved its staff and chanted a magic spell.
Two five-inch-long ice pillars appeared in front of it. The next moment, they shot towards the Pursuers like bullets, extremely fast.
Bang! Bang!
Both robots’ bodies turned red and hot. The first one, in particular, had already been attacked once and showed signs of exploding.
Whoosh! Whoosh! The robots’ speed kept increasing, but under the slowing effect of the frost, their speed couldn’t increase much, only slightly faster than before.
Boom!
The Ice Goblin attacked again, directly shattering the first Pursuer, which exploded in mid-air. The surrounding heat rose, giving the second Pursuer a chance to break free from the slowing effect. It quickly rushed to the Ice Goblin’s side and exploded.
Ding! “Killed Ice Goblin.”
Hearing the system notification, Li Feng breathed a sigh of relief. He looked at the experience bar, which had increased by one-third. He only needed to kill two more Ice Goblins to level up.
But he was also a little frustrated. This Ice Goblin seemed to counter his robots. The ice magic had a slowing effect. Without the cooperation of two Pursuers, he might have been in trouble.
Rustle! Rustle!
At this moment, three more evolved goblins emerged from the forest.
◈◈◈
One was a Thrower Goblin carrying a wooden basket, one was a blue-skinned Ice Goblin, and the last one was a red Flame Goblin.
Li Feng was a little speechless. He did want to see evolved goblins, but he didn’t want to die. He silently assessed the strength of both sides.
With his current stamina, he could only summon three more Pursuers at most.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Three hexagonal star arrays appeared, and three Pursuers rushed out. But before they could attack, the three goblins made the first move.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The middle Pursuer was directly hit by a triple attack and exploded. The next moment, all the heat from the explosion was absorbed by the Flame Goblin. The remaining two Pursuers, under the attack of the Ice Goblin, were slowed down.
Li Feng, on the side, provided support. Unable to summon more Rx Pursuers, he directly raised his novice standard pistol and shot at the Ice Goblin.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
After a year of hard training, Li Feng’s marksmanship didn’t disappoint. All the bullets hit the Ice Goblin, but the damage was pitiful, deducting ten health points at a time.
Even though the evolved goblins had extremely low defense, it couldn’t offset his low base stats. With only 5 strength points, he dealt almost no damage.
Boom! Boom! At this moment, the remaining two Rx Pursuers were also destroyed. Before he could react, a ball of flame directly engulfed Li Feng.
“Finished off, without even seeing the BOSS’s face.” Li Feng looked at the darkened screen and frowned unconsciously. He had underestimated this Thunderbolt Gobzan Dungeon. With his current strength, he couldn’t dominate it at all.
He rubbed his head and then activated the Mechanical Heart breathing technique. Fifteen minutes later, his stamina finally recovered to half. Just as he was about to continue playing the game, the bus suddenly braked hard, almost making him drop the phone in his hand.
It turned out that while Li Feng was immersed in the game, the bus had already departed, and now, it had just arrived at its destination.
“Finally here.” The students on the bus stood up excitedly.
Many people were coming to a dungeon for the first time, feeling a mix of anticipation and unease.
Because every year, many players died in dungeons. This was not like the game Li Feng played. Once you died, there was no chance to start over.
“How did we get here so fast?” Li Feng put away his phone, got off the bus, and said somewhat dejectedly. At the same time, he hesitated in his heart, wondering if he should withdraw from this activity.
“Fast? You’ve been playing the game for two hours. I’m impressed.”
Qin Anran rolled her eyes at him, then excitedly said, “This is the wilderness. It’s my first time here. The scenery is really nice. I heard that before Global Digitization, many people liked to camp in the wild. I wonder if it’s true.”
The scenery outside the bus was indeed beautiful. There were towering trees everywhere, flowers in full bloom, and bees and butterflies flying around. However, fifty years ago, Great Xia Nation followed the path of technology, achieving rapid technological development at the expense of the natural environment. Rivers were polluted, fields were barren, and large areas of ancient forests were cut down.
After Global Digitization, with the emergence of dimensional creatures, the path of technology declined, and the natural ecology was restored. Ironically enough.
