Chapter 19
Michael lowered his voice as if to tell a secret.
“I told you I’d introduce you to my friend, right?”
I couldn’t understand why he was lowering his voice when everyone could hear him anyway.
‘He said he was a bit of a j*rk but cute…… Could that be the Honey Badger?’
It was a ratel, known as a honey badger in Korea.
Michael said.
“This guy was fighting a lion without fear.”
Sir Lancer seemed intrigued.
“This little guy, you say?”
As Sir Lancer approached, the honey badger bared its small teeth and growled, “Kyang!” It made a sound.
Its spirit was quite fierce.
“Yeah, it was fighting five-on-one.”
Michael chuckled as if he liked the honey badger’s spirit and tried to touch its forehead.
Snap!
The honey badger refused my brother’s touch.
“Ouch! You little rascal, how dare you bite me!”
It seems that it’s okay for it to ride on my brother’s body, but it doesn’t like my brother touching its body.
“I almost bled. You think I’m letting you off the hook because you’re cute?”
It seemed to have bitten him quite hard, but there wasn’t even a small scratch on my brother’s finger.
I asked.
“What happened to the other four?”
“What do you mean?”
“You clearly said it was fighting a lion five-on-one.”
He saved one.
Then what about the other four?
“What are you talking about? I told you it was fighting five lions!”
“……”
They say it’s the bravest animal in the world, and it seems like that’s true.
“They were ganging up on it unfairly, so I taught them a lesson.”
“……So, five lions?”
“Yeah.”
I realized once again that this world was a fantasy world.
This little guy, who doesn’t look that different from me on the outside, taught five lions a lesson.
“……How do you teach lions a lesson?”
“I just made them kneel and raise their hands.”
“Does that work?”
Michael tilted his head.
It seemed like he finally noticed something was strange.
“Oh, yeah. That works?”
Sir Lancer chimed in from the side.
“Sometimes, ruthless violence can turn the impossible into possible. Did you hit them a lot?”
“I was just trying to teach them a lesson, but they slapped me and bit my neck. So I got angry.”
“And then? Did you use your sword?”
“Hey, they’re big, but I can’t use a sword on such weak and timid creatures.”
“Then what did you do?”
“I just did the same to them.”
It’s such an absurd story.
He said he acted like the lions.
“I’m not a bad guy who would use a sword against an animal friend.”
I discovered something interesting.
My brother was talking to Sir Lancer, but it seemed like he was actually watching Chief Attendant Dailtha’s reaction.
“I could have been on time, but I was a little late because I was rescuing a poor animal friend who was in an unfair crisis. I was late because I was exercising chivalry, so Sir Lancer, please understand my situation.”
“Oh my, you exercised the chivalry that I spoke so highly of. This is not a scolding, but something that needs praise. Hahaha!”
What was even more interesting was that Sir Lancer was also watching Chief Attendant Dailtha’s reaction.
“See? I told you.”
“That’s right, Your Highness.”
What was even more interesting was that they both knew they were watching Chief Attendant Dailtha’s reaction.
It was like watching rabbits united in front of a lion named Dailtha.
I could clearly realize.
‘The real power in this palace is definitely Chief Attendant Dailtha.’
I need to get on her good side.
I smiled brightly.
“Chief Attendant Dailtha. I’m hungwy. Wanna eat wif me?”
It feels like my tongue got shorter.
Must be my imagination.

Isabel did not let her guard down against Karin.
‘She might be collecting the mana contained in my breath.’
She didn’t know how far the research on Narvidal had progressed.
‘It’s also suspicious that she’s being so devoted to me.’
She must have some ulterior motive.
She tried her best not to show any flaws while diligently learning magic theory.
Karin’s magic skills were real.
“Teacher. I have a question.”
“Go ahead.”
“Do you know about honey badgers?”
“I do.”
“How can you explain the strange distortion of mana that I feel from the honey badger?”
“It’s a rare but existing case. Usually, this happens when they eat a mana stone that contains mana. It’s a phenomenon often found in fearless animals like honey badgers. They eat anything.”
“But what is it that makes you think you can do something using that distortion?”
Karin looked at Isabel.
She knew what Isabel was talking about.
‘It’s magical intuition.’
Very rarely, there are people who have a sense of automatically grasping a certain magical flow.
People call them geniuses.
Isabel was scared of Karin’s eyes.
Indifferent eyes that seemed to read her mind completely.
It was terrifying to have the final boss read her mind.
“What specifically do you feel you can do?”
“I don’t know exactly. But I think I can be friends with the honey badger.”
“Let’s study that together.”
From that day on, Karin increased the class time and frequency.
* * *
Several days passed.
“Do you want to be friends with the honey badger?”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“It’s cool. My brother said it even fought a lion.”
“Is that cool?”
“Being brave is cool. It seems like it lives bravely, not bowing down to reality.”
Several more days passed.
Karin gave her a small hint.
“If you use the Droiwell Theorem, the equation seems to be completed to some extent.”
She won’t understand it anyway.
But Karin liked watching Isabel engrossed in magic theory.
‘She always purses her lips when she concentrates.’
How cute those small, dainty lips are.
So, today, she secretly observed Isabel again.
Isabel read various symbols and equations densely written on a paper about the size of an A4 sheet.
Many of them were familiar.
Magic equations had a lot in common with modern mathematics.
“However, it cannot be perfectly completed because there is a number that cannot be defined by the magic equation that Her Highness learned.”
“Wow, that’s cliché.”
Solving problems using modern knowledge.
It was a very common cliché.
“Excuse me?”
“I mean, the definition of the origin of the square number is not clear.”
“……Then can Your Highness express it clearly?”
Isabel was a student who had gone through the Korean college entrance exam process.
She quite liked math and got into Korea University through the math essay exam.
So, answering the final boss’s test with math was a very common cliché.
‘Since Karin, the final boss, is a genius mage, her standards must be incredibly high, right?’
It was clear that the knowledge of an ordinary(?) Korean student wouldn’t be that special.
“The magic number here is negative, but the problem is that it has to be in the form of a square number, right?”
“……Yes, that’s right.”
“A square number resulting in a negative number doesn’t exist in the concept of real numbers.”
Karin was greatly shocked.
But she maintained her composure on the outside. She had promised herself to be a strict teacher to Isabel.
She asked in a cold tone.
“Then what concept should we use to solve it?”
Seeing that, Isabel misunderstood.
As expected. This is nothing to a genius mage.
She freely unleashed her knowledge from her past life.
“If we draw the complex plane using the concept of imaginary numbers like this, the value of z can be seen as a point on the coordinate plane and corresponds to the sum of the real number a and the imaginary number bi. Right?”
“Yes. That’s correct.”
It was a very basic concept.
Isabel thought so, and Karin’s attitude clearly showed it.
Karin still asked in a calm tone.
“Then how can we find the value of r, the root that should be substituted into the final magic equation?”
Thump! Thump!
Karin’s heart felt like it was going to explode.
No matter how fast the growth of Bilotian’s bloodline was, this was definitely not something that should come out of a five-year-old’s mouth.
Her understanding of magic equations was beyond imagination.
“If we set the angle between them on the plane as theta and calculate it…… Eventually, the value of z can be obtained through trigonometric functions…… If we do it like this…… then…… it can be expressed as the sum of cosine and sine functions.”
Isabel looked at Karin with bright eyes.
She felt relieved that she wouldn’t be caught out on anything this time.
‘Thank goodness. I’m going to get through today safely.’
But Karin asked again.
“However, the equation is too complex to be solved manually, right?”
Wow, another test here?
Isabel was nervous again.
She thought she did well for a five-year-old.
As expected, it didn’t seem to satisfy the eyes of the genius final boss.
Isabel had to answer even more diligently.
“If we use the concept of linear algebra and perform matrix calculations, I think we can solve an equation of this level. It’s a four-by-four(4×4) matrix.”
A Korean college entrance exam veteran.
Isabel, who passed the Korea University math essay exam and whose hobbies included linear algebra and various STEM studies, eventually derived the final value.
And Karin said shortly.
“Well done.”
In fact, she couldn’t say anything more in detail because she was trying to hide her surprise.
Just a word of praise was the best she could do.
“Really?”
“Yes.”
It seemed like it was almost the first time she had heard the words “well done.”
Isabel felt a little proud.
“But.”
Karin looked at Isabel.
Her eyes felt very sharp.
“……Yes?”
Isabel definitely saw it.
The pure flame of desire flickering in Karin’s eyes.
The left corner of Karin’s mouth twitched.
‘That’s definitely the final boss’s dangerous eyes and gesture?’
