Chapter 30
Viaton thoroughly searched the Elbe Mountains.
While doing so, he felt an artificial mana flow in a place famous for being the habitat of the high-ranking monster, Ogre.
‘Magic barrier?’
Ogres are monsters with exceptional physical abilities. There’s no way such monsters could handle magic.
This is a trace of a human.
‘Is there a crazy human who has made a nest in Germa Plateau?’
Even though he thought there couldn’t be a human who had settled in this place teeming with Ogres, Viaton followed the traces of mana and walked in.
On the way, he encountered numerous magic traps.
Fireballs flying in and poison needles flying in were just a minor part of it.
“D*mn it!”
Viaton swung his sword.
He almost had his neck cut off by the blades imbued with sword energy flying in from 14 directions.
“What kind of crazy b*stard is this!”
Eventually, he found a cabin.
The area around the cabin was also full of dangerous magic traps, so he had to be careful.
“I guess it’s a Magic Swordsman.”
An old man was standing in front of the cabin.
He was standing with a cane, his physique was small, and his beard was very long.
“Old man. Do you know me?”
That was the first encounter with Teyselon.
Teyselon basically hated having his territory invaded.
He raised his long eyebrows and glanced at Viaton.
“I hate humans.”
While pretending to be talking to Viaton, Teyselon was actually chanting a magic spell inwardly.
A green magic circle appeared above Viaton’s head, and from there, a rock even bigger than the cabin fell down.
Bang!
Dust rose with the sound.
He turned around, laughing heartily.
“Why do you come into someone else’s house without permission? That’s why you d*e.”
He stopped as he was about to enter the cabin.
‘Huh?’
Swish━━━
A sound tickled his ears.
He reflexively looked back.
The huge rock was split in two.
“If I had been a little less cool, you would have died, old man.”
Viaton’s light green eyes darkened a little.
It was because of the murderous intent.
The murderous intent was a very murky energy.
“What are you talking about?”
And Teyselon prepared another magic chant.
The second-in-command of the Swordsmanship Empire couldn’t stand it anymore.
Using footwork, he narrowed the distance in an instant and put his sword to Teyselon’s neck.
“Let’s talk. Stop attacking me out of the blue.”
“I have nothing to talk about with a swordsman!”
He basically hated humans, but he hated swordsmen even more.
“I’m not a swordsman, but a Magic Swordsman.”
“I hate that even more.”
“Why?”
“If you’re going to learn magic, learn magic, if you’re going to learn swordsmanship, learn swordsmanship, you bat-like b*stard who’s half-assed in both!”
Viaton sighed.
Should I just k*ll him?
He contemplated it, but he couldn’t bring himself to do it because Isabel’s face, who had told him that he was a wonderful a*ult, came to mind.
Suddenly, a small mana bullet was shot from Teyselon’s nape.
“Khahaha! It’s a white phosphorus fireball that burns even underwater!”
White flames soared up Viaton’s body.
Teyselon laughed heartily as if it was good riddance.
Viaton raised his mana once.
Sword energy began to frost over Viaton’s sword.
He lightly swung his sword and scattered the sword energy.
As the sword energy that had penetrated the flames cut through them like shattering them, the flames quickly died down.
“You, what the h*ll are you?”
“Viaton, First Chief Aide of the Bilotian Empire.”
Viaton’s voice sank a little.
His patience had reached its limit.
“I thought you wouldn’t be an ordinary guy, but a bigger shot than I thought came.”
“Are you willing to talk now?”
Teyselon nodded.
Only then did Viaton sheath his sword.
Then, Teyselon said.
“Hing! You got tricked!”
A huge rock fell on Viaton’s head again.
As if the rock wasn’t enough, 7 lightning strikes followed.
“This old geezer!!”
Their battle continued for 12 hours.
And 12 hours later, Teyselon gasped.
“Huff…… Huff…… If I were 10 years younger, you would have died by my hand.”
Viaton’s breathing was relatively normal, but his clothes were in tatters.
His clean and tidy uniform was almost unrecognizable, and his skin color was more visible than the color of his clothes.
And it took another 4 hours to start a normal conversation.
“Okay. I understand that you hate humans, you hate swordsmen, and you hate Magic Swordsmen even more. I hate you too. I think I’m going to get a phobia of you.”
“Then get the h*ll out.”
“But Her Highness the Princess asked me to deliver this to you.”
“Princess? Is there a Princess in Bilotian?”
“Don’t you read the news?”
“Would there be a news bulletin here?”
Viaton exercised patience and told him various stories.
He also delivered the Siberun Mana Stone and the letter.
Teyselon didn’t believe it.
“How can a six-year-old create this kind of magic formula and apply the Inversion Theory to make a cold air mana stone?”
“Do you know Karin?”
“I don’t.”
“She’s a promising and outstanding mage in the Mirotel Magic Federation, and she said that she’s a genius who would appear once in ten thousand years.”
“Ten thousand years haven’t passed yet.”
What he meant was that it hadn’t been ten thousand years since the genius Teyselon himself was born.
“Haa……”
Viaton pressed his throbbing temples.
“I want to just beat you up and take you, but then Her Highness would scold me, right?”
“What?”
“It’s nothing.”
“Anyway, I don’t want to. I like it here.”
Teyselon looked at the Siberun Mana Stone again.
He was actually tempted.
“If you really want me, tell her to come herself.”
“Hey. Didn’t you see the portrait?”
“I did.”
“How can that cute six-year-old come here? Have you forgotten where this is?”
“Is that my business?”
Teyselon was thorough to the end.
Knowing that he couldn’t win a one-on-one battle with Viaton, he prepared a teleportation spell while talking.
He could prepare it much more secretly than an attack spell, and he activated the spell while Viaton was distracted by Isabel’s portrait.
Viaton’s body gradually disappeared.
He wasn’t sure, but it felt like he was being teleported to the middle of the Ogres’ habitat.
“This crazy old man!”
“Hehehe.”
“If I come back here again, I’m not a human but an Orc!”
Teyselon waved his hand.
“Let’s never see each other again. You’re a collection of hateful conditions!”
✦✦✦✦✦✦
Sir Viaton was clean and tidy as always.
Come to think of it, his skin was very clear too.
“Your Highness. That old man is hopeless.”
“But I really need Sir Teyselon.”
“Please don’t call him ‘Sir’. He’s a terrible human scum who can’t be given such a grand title.”
I wasn’t sure what happened, but I needed Teyselon.
Well, the male lead also had a hard time in the beginning when he met Teyselon.
“I can’t let Your Highness meet such an uncivilized person.”
“Did he perhaps say to come directly?”
Sir Viaton flinched.
He slightly shook his head.
“He, he didn’t.”
“Teacher Viaton!”
I made eye contact with Sir Viaton.
Sir Viaton’s light green eyes were very pretty. And I also noticed that those eyes were shaking.
“I don’t like teachers who lie.”
“Tha, that’s……”
I asked again.
“Did you perhaps fight?”
“……”
I eventually heard what Sir Viaton had gone through.
It seemed that Sir Viaton had suffered more than I thought.
Thinking about that made me feel a little sorry.
“Thank you so much. You’ve worked so hard. I’ll never, ever forget your grace.”
“Really?”
“Yes!”
“Forever?”
“Yes!”
Sir Viaton grinned.
It seemed that his heart had softened a little.
“You must remember it for at least 16 years.”
I talked about this and that with Sir Viaton.
Even doing nothing was fun during the time I spent with Sir Viaton.
Just looking at his face made me happy.
After quite some time had passed, I said.
“I think I’m greedy. I keep getting greedy.”
Now only 15 years are left.
It’s a long time, but it’s also a short time to leave something behind in the world.
To do that, I needed the help of the Archmage Teyselon, who was the male lead’s companion.
“I hope people will remember Isabel’s name even after 15 years, even after 25 years. I hope people will remember me as a good person.”
“……”
“Please help me, Teacher.”
“……”
“Yes?”
In the end, Sir Viaton granted my request.
“But you must promise me one thing. You must never leave my side. The Elbe Mountains are a dangerous place.”
“Okay.”
I moved to the Elbe Mountains, nestled in Sir Viaton’s arms.
✦✦✦✦✦✦
For the first time in my life, I experienced staying out overnight.
The sounds of monsters at night were a little scary, but it was fun because it felt like camping.
It was like a romance I had vaguely dreamed of in the hospital, and I had achieved it unexpectedly.
Crackle, crackle.
I stared endlessly at the burning bonfire.
The red flames swaying here and there were pleasing to the eye.
The night sky was full of twinkling stars.
“Teacher. Look! Even though it’s night, I can see the clouds flowing!”
A pleasant breeze blew.
The sounds of insects filled the surroundings.
The night air was very refreshing, and the spicy soup that Sir Viaton had boiled was so delicious that it made my eyes water.
‘I wonder if ramen broth tastes like this?’
I had never even tasted ramen in my previous life, but I somehow felt that it might taste like this.
Sir Viaton was looking at me.
Sir Viaton’s eyes were full of love.
Everything was so good.
I felt a ticklish sensation in my chest, so I expressed that feeling out loud.
“I suddenly feel happy.”
“I’ll make you happy every day.”
“I’m so glad I met Teacher Viaton. I’m a really lucky child.”
Sir Viaton gently stroked my hair.
His touch was so gentle and soft that I felt sleepy.
“No. The one who’s really lucky is me. Your Highness……”
It seemed like Sir Viaton said something, but I was too sleepy to hear it properly.
✦✦✦✦✦✦
A few days later.
Sir Viaton and I found a shabby cabin.
Creak━━━
The cabin door opened.
An old man with a bushy beard was visible.
He was grinning.
“Orc b*stard, you came?”
