Ch 370: Jiang Feng Assassinates Brother Hu To Save Hu Yueqian
Jiang Feng quietly slipped into the courtyard, quickly selecting a relatively well-fitting black shirt and a pair of dark trousers.
Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly heard footsteps coming from inside the house. Jiang Feng was startled and quickly hid behind a water jar. He saw a middle-aged woman come out of the house; she was carrying a basin of freshly washed vegetables and walked straight to the kitchen on the other side of the courtyard.
Jiang Feng noticed that this woman looked a bit like the woman who had insulted Old Woman Yang. He thought, “Could this be the eldest son’s family?”
He cautiously walked out from behind the water jar and quietly left the courtyard.
Standing outside the gate and looking at the house again, it was indeed very close to the location of the eldest son’s family in his memory.
He found a corner to change his clothes and walked aimlessly. Unknowingly, he arrived at the Guanyin Temple again. In this bustling place, he felt that he would not look so conspicuous.
Sitting on a bench, watching the bustling tourists, his heart was full of confusion. Before coming here, he had thought everything was too simple, but now that he was really here, he found that things were far more difficult than he had imagined.
What could he do to change what had already happened? He looked down at himself. At this moment, except for a dagger and a lighter, he had almost nothing, which made him feel even more helpless.
He pondered for a long time and also observed for a long time. He found that the Guanyin Temple, compared to his last visit, did not seem to have been completely developed and renovated. The square under his feet was also much smaller, there were very few parking spaces, and the tourists’ clothing styles were still those popular several years ago. From this, he inferred that the current time period was at least three or four years earlier than his first visit.
However, Old Woman Yang’s third son looked too young. According to the information recorded on the stone wall, Old Woman Yang’s death and burial took place more than thirty years ago. Jiang Feng didn’t spend much energy trying to figure out these detailed differences. After all, these were things in different time periods, and even if there were the same people, some minor differences seemed reasonable.
After thinking for a moment, he stood up and walked towards Brother Hu’s villa. He knew that during this period, he had not yet gone to sea, and Brother Hu naturally would not know an unknown person like him.
When he arrived at Brother Hu’s villa, the scene before him surprised him. It was just a slightly larger mansion; there were no bodyguards standing guard at the gate, the wall was not as high as he remembered, and there was a two-story small foreign-style building in the courtyard.
While he was staring at the courtyard carefully observing and speculating, a bald-headed man suddenly came out of the gate. This man’s appearance looked quite fierce; although he was wearing a suit and leather shoes, he still gave off the aura of a complete villain.
Jiang Feng secretly exclaimed in his heart: “Brother Hu?”
This bald man was indeed Brother Hu, but at this time he was only known as Tiger, just a thug under someone else.
Tiger walked out of the door and saw Jiang Feng staring blankly at his own gate. He immediately glared and fiercely scolded: “Stinky kid! What are you looking at?”
Jiang Feng was startled by this sudden rebuke and subconsciously turned and left.
Seeing this, Tiger chased after him in a few steps, stopped him, and shouted: “Hey! Who told you to leave? You’re sneaking around in front of my house, what do you want? Are you trying to steal something?”
Jiang Feng was a little panicked, but still pretended to be calm and said: “I’m a tourist, just passing by. I saw your house was quite imposing, so I couldn’t help but take a few more looks. I’ll leave right away.”
“Tourist? What kind of tourist? I think you’re a thief! Look at your sneaky appearance. Come on! Go with me to the police station!” Tiger said, grabbing Jiang Feng’s arms forcefully and dragging him into the house.
Jiang Feng already had a shoulder injury; this forceful pull by Tiger caused a sharp pain. He was forcibly brought into Tiger’s courtyard, and then Tiger turned around and locked the door.
Tiger let go, took out a cigarette from his pocket, lit it, tilted his head, and asked with a fierce look: “Do you know who I am? You dare to have ideas about my house? Tell me, do you want to go to jail, or do you want to pay a fine?”
From the moment he entered the gate, Jiang Feng had been quickly scanning the scene in the courtyard. He found that there was no one else in the courtyard, and there was no movement in the rooms; it seemed that only Tiger was at home at the moment.
A bold idea suddenly flashed in his mind: “This is a good opportunity. As long as I kill him, Hu Yueqian might not die, and my fate might change because of this.”
This thought arose in his heart and could no longer be suppressed. He slowly reached behind his waist and touched the dagger he always carried.
“Are you Brother Hu? Do you know Brother Long?” Jiang Feng tried to calm Tiger down while looking for an opportunity to strike.
“Brother Long?” Tiger was stunned and asked with a puzzled look, “Which Brother Long are you talking about?”
“Jin Long.”
“Little Jinzi? What kind of Brother Long is he? Are you his man? You don’t look like his subordinate at all!” Tiger looked Jiang Feng up and down, his eyes full of suspicion.
“Do you know Hu Yueqian and Yang Lan?” Jiang Feng continued to probe.
“Hu Yueqian? Who is Hu Yueqian? I know Miss Yang very well. Are you really Little Jinzi’s man? What are you doing at my house? Who sent you?” Tiger’s gaze was fixed on Jiang Feng.
“Of course I’m Brother Long’s man. Brother Long asked me to deliver something to you.” Jiang Feng said, clenching the dagger.
“Oh? He’s sending me something? What does he want to send me?” Tiger narrowed his eyes slightly, a hint of vigilance on his face.
“Sending you to the West!” As soon as Jiang Feng finished speaking, he suddenly pulled out the dagger and stabbed fiercely at Tiger.
Tiger’s reaction was extremely fast. Seeing the flash of cold light, it was too late to dodge. He instinctively raised his hands to meet the blow; just as the tip of the knife pierced his abdomen, he grabbed the dagger tightly.
The sharp blade of the dagger instantly cut through his palm, blood gushing out and dripping to the ground.
Jiang Feng never expected that his sudden attack would be blocked. He knew that there was probably only one such opportunity; if the assassination was unsuccessful, Tiger’s revenge would certainly await him.
At this moment, he held the dagger tightly and desperately continued to push forward. Tiger’s strength was clearly much greater than Jiang Feng’s, and with one of Jiang Feng’s arms injured, he couldn’t exert his full strength; the tip of the knife slowly retreated from Tiger’s abdomen.
Seeing this, Jiang Feng made a decisive decision and abruptly pulled back the dagger. This time, it cut even deeper and longer wounds on Tiger’s hands.
Tiger’s hands were covered in blood, but he showed no sign of retreating. Seeing Jiang Feng pull back his knife, he seized the opportunity and kicked towards Jiang Feng’s chest.
After Jiang Feng pulled back his knife, he immediately stabbed again. At this moment, he saw the other party’s kick coming, and subconsciously stabbed at Tiger’s foot.
The actions of both sides were completed in the blink of an eye. Only after the knife and foot collided did both of their brains get a clear response. Tiger cried out in pain, lost his balance, and fell heavily to the ground.
Jiang Feng charged forward with the knife, ready to deliver another blow. At this moment, he heard a car pull up and stop outside the gate.
Jiang Feng secretly felt bad and quickly looked back. Without thinking too much, he turned and ran towards the gate.
As soon as he ran out of the gate, he met two people getting out of the car. One of them was Yang Lan, and the other was a stranger.
As Jiang Feng ran past them, Tiger shouted from the courtyard, “Catch him!”
Yang Lan and the stranger heard the shout and immediately chased after him.
Yang Lan ran in front and kicked Jiang Feng down.
Jiang Feng hurriedly shouted, “Yang Lan, it’s me.”
He tried to escape while Yang Lan was stunned, but Yang Lan and the stranger did not give him the chance.
The two were agile and quickly subdued Jiang Feng. They stripped off Jiang Feng’s coat, tied his hands behind his back, picked up his dagger, and pushed him back into Tiger’s courtyard.
