Ch 142: Sowing Discord
Ji Mi felt he wasn’t very lucky.
“You want the Meng Warrior duty roster?” Having just finished his guard shift in the Detention Room, Ji Mi was caught off guard when he was stopped in a corner. He thought he was about to be subjected to campus violence by Wu Ke Na Na’s radical fans.
—This was even worse than campus violence.
Frantically shaking his head, he tried to wriggle out of the group’s encirclement, but Mi Ya Xing pulled him back.
“Oh, we’re all friends. Besides you, we can’t think of anyone else to ask for help.”
“Anything else is fine, but not this.” No way, if Flame King found out, he’d kill him!
“Really not?”
“Really not!”
“Anything else is fine?”
Seeing that they were willing to let him go, Ji Mi quickly nodded, then realized something was wrong halfway through.
Mi Ya Xing snapped his fingers: “Well, you nodded yourself into this.”
Something was wrong!
He lifted his foot to run, but Mi Ya Xing had an arm around his shoulder, Jian Ni had a faint glow of fire in his hand, and Eric was standing nearby watching him like a guard.
Oh dear, everyone said the Meng Knight Captain and Student Council President Wen He was polite and gentlemanly. Where did the Star of Illusion’s sense of morality go when he was calmly watching this violent incident unfold?!
With no choice, Ji Mi closed his eyes with a resigned expression: “Just say it.”
Detention Room.
Wu Ke Na Na couldn’t tell if the gloomy, cold feeling was an aftereffect of her nightmare or if the Detention Room was always like this.
She recalled the contents of her dream: a familiar path, as if she had walked it many times; the incessant, annoying sound of dripping water; and…
That figure.
It was no longer a blurry back. After turning around, she clearly saw the mocking sneer on the corner of the mouth under the hood.
Shaking her head to try to shake off the shadow of the nightmare, she huddled in the corner, hugging herself tightly. Logically, she shouldn’t be having another nightmare so soon. She had drunk the potion from Ou Pa not long ago.
Her thoughts were too chaotic from the nightmare to allow for rational analysis. She would wait for Wu La La and the others to come… yes, a little light appeared in her muddled brain; she wasn’t alone.
At that moment, she felt two inexplicable touches on her shoulder.
Was it a nightmare again?
Had she been in a nightmare this whole time?
She closed her eyes, constantly hypnotizing herself: it’s all an illusion, it’s all an illusion… but the pokes on her shoulder got stronger.
“She doesn’t seem to be asleep. Could she have gone crazy from being locked up…?” How could she atone for her crimes and restore her image in Pa’s eyes?
A very faint whisper.
Wu Ke Na Na slowly raised her head: “Head Nurse Da Tiantian!”
It wasn’t a dark nightmare, nor was there the shouting of the Dark Emperor. This was a familiar figure.
“Oh, my poor child.” Da Tiantian hugged Wu Ke Na Na, relieved.
Thank goodness, it seemed she hadn’t been controlled by the Dark Gene. When Wu Ke Na Na suddenly hugged her, Da Tiantian almost thought she was going to die.
This Dark Gene wasn’t as scary as Pa had said.
“It’s strange. From what I understand, it shouldn’t be acting up so… so… irregularly.”
Theoretically, it should be getting progressively worse, but from what Wu La La described, Wu Ke Na Na had been well-controlled before. Why did it suddenly get out of control last night?
“Maybe it’s individual differences.” Not wanting to dwell on things she couldn’t understand, Da Tiantian took out her masterpiece. “This is a potion I carefully prepared for you. After drinking it, you absolutely won’t have nightmares for a while.”
It wasn’t just one bottle; Da Tiantian also stuffed several small sample bottles into her arms, just in case.
Before leaving, she also left a table full of food for her.
…
“You mean, Rui Rui’s divination for Wu Ke Na Na showed a result of ill fortune with a hint of good fortune?” Turning the Magic Cube, what exactly did this good fortune refer to? The imminent appearance of the Ten Stars, or—
Mi Ya Xing thought of the 《Dark Archive X》 still in the Magic Warehouse.
That book must contain information about the Dark Gene.
But it was indeed as dangerous as Facebook said, and he hadn’t been to the Magic Warehouse after reading it once.
But if he was mentally strong, not contaminated by the Dark Aura within, found the answer, and immediately closed it, there should… be no problem, right?
It was just a rough result of a divination. Looking at the constantly rotating Magic Cube, Rui Bu Si couldn’t imagine what Mi Ya Xing was thinking about for so long.
She flipped through next week’s schedule; the first thing she saw was History of Magic.
“Oh, tomorrow is Teacher A Lu Ai Ta’s last class this semester.”
Rui Bu Si felt a little anticipation.
She was still very curious about the question regarding Yan Si, and what answer A Lu Ai Ta would give.
As for how to explain it to Mi Ya Xing later… Oh well, that’s not important, she’ll think about it later.
Mi Ya Xing also looked at it: “Not only that, oh, there’s also a Demonology exam tomorrow.”
His tone was gloating, but when he met Rui Bu Si’s quiet gaze, he quickly added, “Actually, I’m very worried I won’t pass.”
“Humph!”
Rui Bu Si snatched the Magic Cube from him and twisted it randomly to vent her emotions.
It didn’t matter if it got broken; after all, he had several spares in his dormitory.
Though he didn’t care in his heart, Mi Ya Xing looked at his “beloved” Magic Cube with a very worried expression on his face.
“Oh, come on, the Demonology teacher isn’t strict with grading. At worst, if you fail, she’ll just say a few words.”
Rui Bu Si replied in Miao Miao Kaidi’s tone: “Humph! Humph! Humph!”
Ba Bi, who was reviewing her lessons at the other side of the classroom, alertly raised her head, looked around, saw no familiar figures, and put the cat teaser back down.
Gui Gongzai walked towards Mi Ya Xing with his own worries:
“Hey, if I refuse to become one of the Ten Stars at this time, wouldn’t that make me seem disloyal?”
Hmm…
After a moment of silence, Mi Ya Xing replied, “I think your worries are a bit unnecessary.”
Gui Gongzai suddenly looked up: “What do you mean? You don’t believe in my abilities?”
“Of course not, I…”
“Yes, he doesn’t believe in you. He’s said so many bad things about you in private.”
The fire-starting expert put down the Magic Cube, and after Mi Ya Xing repeatedly begged for mercy, she gave Gui Gongzai a sincere smile: “He also said that you getting top marks in every subject doesn’t count for anything and that he wants to compete with you.”
“I didn’t…”
At this moment, any explanation seemed particularly pale and weak.
“Fine! Mi Ya Xing, since that’s the case, let’s bet on tomorrow’s Demonology exam!”
Hypocrite!
Gui Gongzai glared at him fiercely, then strode away with increasingly heavy steps.
Mi Ya Xing took his Magic Cube back from her desk.
“You’re stirring up trouble.”
“You’re bringing this on yourself.”
