Ch 254: Rabbit, Lies
Two replies mingled together, filling his left and right ears. Director Pa Hua Luo Di’s brain hadn’t yet sorted out what Teacher Da Tiantian was saying when another answer struck his soul.
“This, I, uh, Headmaster…”
“Director Pa, I think you should go see Teacher Da Tiantian first.”
A voice from beyond the world, like a flash of inspiration, cleared his muddled mind. His eyes lit up instantly, and he gave Xu Xingchun an approving glance: “Right!”
“Teacher Da Tiantian, quickly take me there, we’ll discuss the details on the way.”
“Yes, sir.”
So only Hou Sai Lei and Xu Xingchun remained in the office.
“You’re not going with them…?”
“I think I’ve seen you before?”
“Hm?” Xu Xingchun finally looked at him properly, then shook their head, “But I have no impression of you.”
“…Then I must have remembered wrong.” He awkwardly touched his elf ear, glancing at other parts of the office, occasionally glancing at her again, still feeling that she looked familiar.
But since joining the Elf Defense Force, he had always stayed at the Elf Station. This Meng Academy employee didn’t look very old, so there was no possibility of knowing each other…
Strange?
Could it be that too much has happened at the Space-Time Station recently, causing mental fatigue and leading to confusion?
Or has working with Jia Shang Xing, that hazy elf, for too long been contagious?
“Uh…may I ask your name?”
“Xu Xingchun.”
A completely unfamiliar name.
It must have been contagious from Jia Shang Xing.
“If you don’t go after them, you might not catch up.”
“Oh, oh, okay, okay.”
He hurried out, then remembered after going out: “Hey? Why should I go after them?”
He didn’t recognize any of the names the employee mentioned, and he wasn’t familiar with the roads of Meng Academy.
But going back now would be quite awkward.
Pa Hua Luo Di followed Da Tiantian all the way to the infirmary and saw Wu Yan tied up, with the Backlash Mirror beside them…and…
The Backlash Mirror!!!
“How is the Backlash Mirror here?”
Shouldn’t it be safely in the Headmaster’s Office?
Mi Ya Xing explained simply: “When I arrived, I saw Silent Nurse Wu Yan leaving with the Backlash Mirror; Teacher Kiki was unconscious on the ground at the time.”
Kiki was lying unconscious on a bed in the infirmary, her magic wand leaning against the wall; it looked like Mi Ya Xing had moved it there.
“You—” The pointer pointed directly at Wu Yan, “How could you do such a thing? You are a disgrace to the Quark Clan!”
“Right!” Tied to the chair and unable to move, for the first time since arriving at Meng Academy, Wu Yan openly expressed their anger towards their hated enemy, “It’s you who made me a disgrace to the Quark Clan!”
The air stagnated for a moment.
Teacher Da Tiantian’s gaze shifted between the two, remembering her duty and the fact that there was still a patient present: “Well, I’ll go check on Teacher Kiki’s condition.”
Outside the infirmary, Hou Sai Lei touched his ear and muttered softly, “Why do I keep running into awkward situations today?”
The voices inside were so loud; even from so far away, his ears were already starting to hurt.
“I made you a disgrace to the Quark Clan?” He desperately wanted to get to the bottom of it, but there were clearly more important matters at hand, “We’ll talk about your business later.”
“Mi Ya Xing, have you seen Haidisi?” With the Backlash Mirror here, what about Haidisi, which was also sealed in the Headmaster’s office…?
“Only the Backlash Mirror.”
So his gaze turned back to Wu Yan: “Where did you put Haidisi?”
The captive snorted coldly and turned their head, refusing to answer.
“Hey, what’s your attitude? I…”
“Director Pa, Silent Nurse Wu Yan did not steal Haidisi.”
“How do you know?”
Pa Hua Luo Di looked around without finding any clues, but judging by Wu Yan’s reaction, what Mi Ya Xing said should be correct.
“Oh, after tying them up, I asked that question and used Mind Reading.”
“Right,” Da Tiantian finished checking on Kiki, “Today, I went to the infirmary as usual to ask Head Nurse Xu Xingchun if she had any questions, and to see if Wu Yan had messed anything up. When I went in, I didn’t see…”
She described it with words and gestures, giving those who weren’t there a sense of being present.
“Teacher Da Tiantian, you already told me this on the way,” Pa Hua Luo Di interrupted, unable to bear it any longer, “Can you get to the point?”
But what was needed now was not a sense of being present.
“The point, the point! Don’t be so fierce. Um…the point is that I found Wu Yan hiding the Backlash Mirror, so the first thing I did was grab them and take them to the Teacher’s Office to await your punishment. But who knew that that cute and harmless-looking rabbit would attack so fiercely? I was scared, but when I thought of my beloved…”
“Stop—” Pa Hua Luo Di interrupted her and waved to Mi Ya Xing, “You’re on.”
“Me?”
He looked at the two teachers: “Teacher Da Tiantian, is that okay?”
Da Tiantian nodded reluctantly.
“The rabbit used Dark Magic to attack, which was blocked by Teacher Kiki, and Wu Yan took advantage of the chaos to steal the Backlash Mirror.”
Then Teacher Da Tiantian went to the Teacher’s Office to call for reinforcements.
The weight on Pa Hua Luo Di’s chest lifted considerably.
“I met Silent Nurse Wu Yan outside the infirmary. When I arrived at the infirmary, I only saw a ball of black mist hurriedly leaving…so that mist was the rabbit.”
He didn’t meet Teacher Da Tiantian on the way; Wu Yan must have deliberately taken another route to avoid encountering him, but ran into him on another path.
“The top priority now is to confirm whether Haidisi is still in place.” He glanced at Wu Yan, then turned his head. Pa Hua Luo Di walked out of the infirmary and saw Hou Sai Lei standing idly outside. “What are you doing here?”
“I…”
“Oh, right, the Space-Time Rift.” He slapped his forehead, feeling that as soon as the Headmaster was gone, everything came crashing down. “Mi Ya Xing, you should quickly summon the Meng Knights and Princess Naiya for a meeting.”
Everyone was in a hurry. Hou Sai Lei peeked into the infirmary. He had rushed over in a hurry, but suddenly felt that he wasn’t in such a hurry anymore.
