Ch 73: The weather was perfect.
“I’ll ask you a question, do you know why vampires don’t like spicy food?”
“I don’t know.” Jian Ni shook his head and quietly asked Rui Bu Si, “What’s wrong with her?”
Ya Ya has been acting strangely all morning.
He might have chuckled at these bad jokes usually, but the Demonology exam is coming up soon, and he really can’t laugh at all.
“Because they like blood.”
Jian Ni: …
“Maybe they’ve studied themselves silly.” After going through the motions of laughing, Rui Bu Si answered softly.
Demonology, it’s normal.
“It’s not like they’ve studied themselves silly,” seeing that Ya Ya seemed prepared to tell many more, Jian Ni sighed, “It’s more like they’ve gone crazy studying.”
“Hey, you two, what are you whispering about?!” Ya Ya sternly knocked on the table and instructed Ya Ya to peck each of them once.
The two who covered their heads fell silent for a moment.
Lan Bao gloated.
Jian Ni knocked Lan Bao on the head.
All three covered their heads and didn’t make a sound.
Ya Ya cleared her throat and continued: “On a scorching summer day, two bananas were walking down the street, and one banana took off its clothes because it was too hot.”
How did a perfectly normal person end up like this?
Exchanging a glance, Rui Bu Si and Jian Ni silently and helplessly pouted in unison, then under Ya Ya’s intimidating gaze, they asked, “What’s next?” 🔵🟦🔵🟦
“Then the other banana fell down.”
Ha, haha…
“I still want to look at the Demonology books for a bit longer,” Jian Ni, quiet for only two seconds, leaned towards Lan Bao, pointed to his other side, and whispered, “We bet with that person over there, it would be so embarrassing if we lose!”
Even though they were very good brothers, Lan Bao didn’t really want Jian Ni to always include him in these kinds of things.
“What does the bet have to do with us?” Rui Bu Si, who heard them talking, leaned over, “Your Demonology is taught by Wu Ke Na Na, mine is taught by Mi Ya Xing, if we don’t do well, it just means their teaching isn’t good enough.”
“That way of putting it…”
“Makes sense.” Jian Ni covered Lan Bao’s mouth to prevent him from continuing.
In other words, even if he didn’t do better than Rui Bu Si, it would only mean Wu Ke Na Na is inferior to Mi Ya Xing, and it has nothing to do with him.
Maybe that’s not quite right either.
He even went to Mi Ya Xing yesterday at noon to get some materials.
Regardless, Jian Ni felt relieved.
“I vaguely heard you mention my sister as I passed by just now?”
Rui Bu Si: “No, we were listening to Ya Ya tell jokes to relax.”
Afterwards, Jian Ni pulled, Rui Bu Si embraced, and the bewildered Wu La La was half-pushed and half-pulled in by them.
Lan Bao frantically hinted, but Wu La La didn’t understand.
“What’s wrong with Classmate Lan Bao?”
“He’s too happy listening to the jokes.” Jian Ni quickly answered.
“Oh, I see,” Wu La La looked forward to Ya Ya, “What kind of jokes, can I listen too?”
Victim +1
“Of course.” Very satisfied that she had gained another audience member, Ya Ya continued, “Kimchi asked Onion, ‘Are you an onion?’ Guess what Onion replied?”
“What?”
Among the unison questions, only Wu La La was genuinely curious.
“Onion replied, ‘Onion oh~.’”
“So…” Wu La La quietly asked Jian Ni, “Should we laugh now?”
“Yes.” The answer came from three people without a hint of a smile.
“It’s almost exam time, the Old Man will be here to hand out the papers soon, shall we end here?” Unlike Jian Ni and the others, Rui Bu Si hadn’t stopped hearing these bad jokes since this morning.
She really couldn’t laugh anymore.
“Okay, then let’s tell one last one.” With a hint of regret, but regaining her spirits, Ya Ya vividly recounted, “Sunny and breezy, the weather was just right, I grabbed the person’s hair and threw that bald guy out.”
The audience skillfully put on a show of haha-laughing happily.
“How can a bald guy have hair,” Jian Ni casually said, “Let’s quickly sit…”
Wait, isn’t this joke a little too pointed?
Making eye contact with the Old Man who appeared in the classroom at some point, memories that were not very friendly to his grades appeared in his mind, as well as some fantasies that did not yet exist but were very likely to happen in the future.
“Old Man… uh… no, Teacher, good morning?” He didn’t know if the teacher had a good morning, but Jian Ni felt that he was having a rather bad one now.
Apparently, he wasn’t the only one who realized how pointed this joke was.
Ya Ya quickly sat down in the seat next to her, holding someone’s book and pretending she had been reviewing all along;
Rui Bu Si and Wu La La took out questions from somewhere and seemed to be thinking seriously;
After looking around, Lan Bao chose to join Rui Bu Si and the others in their “enthusiastic” discussion of the questions.
Jian Ni: …
“It’s not early, Student Jian Ni, after the exam it’ll be noon.”
“Y-yes, then I wish the Teacher a good evening in advance…” What is he saying, why is he the only one left fighting a lone battle?
Looking around, there wasn’t a single friend willing to help.
Even Mi Ya Xing, who had just entered the classroom, chose to enter through another door the moment their eyes met, completely ignoring him!
“Rui Bu Si.” Turning the questions they had held upside down, Wu La La originally didn’t understand why Rui Bu Si suddenly pulled her into a discussion of the questions before the jokes were finished, but now she seemed to understand a little.
She whispered, “Are our participation marks going to be completely ruined this time?”
