Ch 95: Loss and Clarity
According to Count Gulak’s inquiry to the Infinite Egg, Rui Bu Si is currently lost in her own memories.
“Why did you do this?” The fist clenched at his side rose, the Shi Juan Shi hadn’t yet mobilized, Mi Ya Xing’s companion held him back and shook her head.
A look indicated: This is the Principal’s Office; Principal Kendouji is still here.
“She said she wanted to return to a certain time in the past, so I let her go back,” a shrill and piercing laugh echoed in the Principal’s Office. The Infinite Egg was very pleased with its great masterpiece.
Confined in a cage with a magic seal, it now only focused on whether it could be born, unmoved by everyone’s anger: “I want to consume desires, Gulak, quickly find a way to let me out!”
Gulak remained kneeling on one knee: “Great King, you are loyal…”
Interrupting Gulak’s profession of loyalty, Kendouji vetoed: “Impossible, the Infinite Egg can only stay in the Principal’s Office until our Meng Academy students recover.”
“It’s simple to restore the classmates; you just need to make a wish, right?” His tone was full of incomprehension.
As long as a wish is made, his great King can obtain energy, and that Quark Clan classmate he dislikes can also recover—a win-win situation; why not?
“Count Gulak, we cannot possibly wish to the Infinite Egg.” The usually amiable person turned serious, displaying a different kind of majesty. “Also, He Yan said that you cooperated with the Dark Great Emperor and opened the Underground Waterway. Should you explain that?”
Gulak:……
The confined Infinite Egg flickered, emitting an alluring light: “If you’re going to make a wish, hurry up and make it. Otherwise—your dear classmate will be forever lost in her own memories, you know.”
“Forever lost?” Wu La La grasped Kendouji’s hand. “Grandpa, what does forever lost mean? Will Xiao Luo Bu never wake up again?”
“Of course not,” soothingly patting Wu La La’s hand, his calm expression conveyed reassuring strength. “I’ve entrusted this matter to Dr. Victoria. I believe our teacher will soon find a way.”
As Kendouji said, Victoria did think of a way.
“Too much time has passed; the outside world cannot directly awaken her. Now, someone familiar with Student Rui Bu Si needs to enter her deeper consciousness and bring her back to the real world.”
“I…”
“No, don’t rush,” interrupting the Meng Knights’ eagerness to volunteer, Victoria explained, “There are only two slots, and these two classmates must be very familiar with Rui Bu Si; otherwise, entering her deep consciousness will cause her strong resistance.”
“Otherwise, she won’t wake up.”
Having explained the seriousness of the situation, she looked at the Meng Knights and continued, “Now you can decide who goes in.”
“Teacher Victoria,” exchanging a look with Lan Bao, their gazes firm, Mi Ya Xing stepped forward, “Let Lan Bao and I go.”
They both met Rui Bu Si at the start of school. Of everyone, they are the most familiar with her.
“Of course.”
Flip-phone-shaped magical artifacts were given to the two Meng Knights:
“I know you are all excellent students who care about your classmates and are not afraid of sacrifice. However, you only have twenty-four hours inside. When the time is up, I will call you. Even if you cannot bring her back, you must answer the phone and come out immediately when the magical artifact’s ringtone in your hands sounds. Understood?”
Her tone was gentle but firm. When their eyes met, it was as if she saw through Mi Ya Xing and Lan Bao’s thoughts: “Otherwise, all three of you will never wake up.”
On the other hand.
The unfamiliar path felt somewhat familiar; it was very similar to Meng Academy.
But it shouldn’t be similar to Meng Academy.
At every entrance and exit were student guards, standing solemnly in place, unmoved by any disturbance.
Rui Bu Si walked slowly through the crowd. Everyone seemed to be unable to see her. They walked in twos and threes or alone towards their destinations, exchanging inaudible words.
“Hmm…” Her gaze swept across every place without pausing; it seemed as if she was in a hurry to go somewhere, yet she didn’t seem to have a destination.
“It seems that everything here is based on my memories.”
Everything unreasonable was rationalized, like the environment extremely similar to Meng Academy, and her inability to see anyone’s face clearly.
“It doesn’t seem like much time has passed here, but how long has it been in the outside world?”
The person who should have been lost in her memories had clear eyes. She finally stopped, standing in the center of the bustling crowd, looking upstairs.
Behind the railing on the second floor, a person stood, their gaze slowly meeting hers. The person looked at her, expressionless.
But here, only his face was relatively clear.
“Long time no see, An Ye.”
She never expected that in her memories, this person, who could barely be considered an old acquaintance, would still have clearly defined features.
She thought she had long forgotten him.
