Ch 123: Star Power
“Dark Abyss Demon Alliance, what kind of power is this?” Yu Kai furrowed his brows, looking at Wen Chengzhi with a puzzled expression.
“The Dark Abyss Demon Alliance is an underground evil force in the Primal Chaos Immortal Realm. They frantically plunder and resell resources from various planets. The Heavenly Court has launched numerous crackdowns, but none have been successful. Three powerful Demon Venerables control the overall situation. They search everywhere for fallen Immortal Officials, rebellious evil cultivators, and Wu-Yao remnants, as well as some mutated demonic beasts, demonic puppets, etc. Together, they constitute the Dark Abyss Demon Alliance’s vast criminal force, posing a major threat to the Heavenly Court’s order and the peace of various planets.” Yin Ziling hurriedly explained to Yu Kai, her expression full of extreme disgust towards the Dark Abyss Demon Alliance.
“What are they doing on Venus?” Yu Kai asked Wen Chengzhi again, deep thought in his eyes.
“I think they’ve mobilized a large number of experts this time, likely intending to target the demonic beasts and mineral veins on Venus.” Wen Chengzhi replied, his face heavy with concern.
“What kind of experts did they send? How many?” Yu Kai leaned forward slightly, asking carefully.
“I saw their flags: Wang Meng, Liu Ruyuyan, and Zhou Lie. These three are all Saint King high-rankers, comparable to my Grandpa Jiao. Their flags were waving; there were probably no fewer than 100,000 soldiers.” Wen Chengzhi recounted seriously, seemingly still haunted by the massive battle array, his voice trembling slightly.
“You say you discovered them. As a Heavenly Court Commander, why didn’t you deal with them, but instead came to deal with me?” Yu Kai’s eyes widened in anger, his voice filled with fury.
Wen Chengzhi said somewhat awkwardly, “I did report the matter, however!”
“Clang!” Yu Kai kicked him to the ground. He got angrier the more he thought about it. Wen Chengzhi rolled clumsily on the ground, further aggravating his wound. He was in so much pain that he broke out in a cold sweat, his face instantly turning pale as paper, like autumn leaves struck by frost.
“What will they typically do once they reach Venus?” Yu Kai continued to ask, his gaze fixed on Wen Chengzhi, his eyes like two torches, threatening to ignite Wen Chengzhi.
“They’ll likely slaughter the demonic beasts living on Venus en masse, and will establish a long-term presence there, mining out all the metal mineral veins!” Yin Ziling answered urgently.
“Won’t that destroy the Star Power on Venus?” Yu Kai immediately asked.
“It will! As mining progresses, the Star Power will weaken. If the stars are depleted, the Star Power will also disappear.” Yin Ziling said softly, her voice filled with helplessness, and her eyes full of regret.
“How fast is their mining speed?” Yu Kai looked at her again, his eyes urgent.
Yin Ziling looked at Wen Chengzhi, who immediately said: “Fast. They have specialized mining equipment. They haven’t acted for so many years. This time, they’re making such a big fuss, so they must be well-prepared.” He swallowed, his Adam’s apple bobbing.
He paused and added: “They’ll likely succeed in mining and retreat before the Heavenly Court army arrives. Although they are powerful, they’ve mostly lost in their confrontations with the Heavenly Court, and they dare not engage in direct confrontation.” Wen Chengzhi said, a hint of disdain in his eyes, mixed with a trace of apprehension towards the Dark Abyss Demon Alliance.
“How long will it take to get there from the Heavenly Court?” Yu Kai asked again, his brows furrowed into a deep “V” shape.
“From the time I report it to the Heavenly Court assembling an army, it will take at least a month. Fifteen days have already passed.”
“Who might the Heavenly Court send?” Yu Kai became somewhat worried, silently calculating in his heart, his gaze sweeping across everyone’s faces.
“With this incident, it’s likely our elders, or possibly the top Heaven’s prodigies of our generation, the Heavenly Eye General—Yang Yufei, as well as Taiwei Immortal Lord—Jun Yao, and Starlight Heavenly Maiden—Xing Lan.” Wen Chengzhi said. The others also had their eyes shining brightly, looking worshipful, as if the mention of these names brought hope.
“Are they strong?” Yu Kai asked Yin Ziling and the others, his expression serious.
“Very strong!” Yin Ziling nodded, a trace of awe flashing in her eyes.
“How strong?” Yu Kai’s worry intensified, his heart rising to his throat.
“We can’t even beat their attendants!” Wen Chengzhi said, his tone heavy, as if recalling unpleasant memories, his facial muscles twitching involuntarily.
Yu Kai looked at Yin Ziling, who nodded. He then looked at Yin Wuji and Tu Yulang, and both immediately looked away. “My brother and Brother Tu once wanted to spar with Xing Lan, but were defeated by her attendant in two moves.”
Yu Kai looked at the two of them, his brows furrowed in thought. After a long while, he looked at the unconscious Niuniu and Wu Xiaohu, his gaze firming, his fists clenched tightly. “I won’t give up until the very end.” A powerful fighting spirit emanated from him, creating an invisible pressure, as if the surrounding air had become heavy.
Wen Chengzhi’s eyes changed when he looked at him, while Yin Ziling’s eyes were full of stars. “So cool!” Ripples arose in her heart, her cheeks flushed crimson like the sunset sky.
Yu Kai collected his thoughts and asked Yin Ziling again, “How do I get the Star Power to acknowledge me?”
Tu Yulang also saw Yin Ziling’s little thoughts, nudged her with his elbow, and she came to her senses. “What? What did you say?”
“How do I get the Star Power to acknowledge me?” Yu Kai repeated, his expression urgent.
“First, you need to master the Metal Law, and then you need to have very deep attainments. Aren’t you still thinking about that Star Power on Venus?” Yin Ziling said worriedly, concern in her eyes.
“I want to try!” Yu Kai said firmly, showing no sign of backing down.
“You don’t have to try so hard,” Yin Ziling said softly, looking somewhat shy, her cheeks flushed crimson. She lowered her head, unable to meet Yu Kai’s gaze.
“Mm! Mm!” Yin Wuji immediately stood up and pushed her back with his body. There was no need to guess what his little sister was about to say. He had already noticed that his little sister was interested in Yu Kai. But he absolutely disagreed. As the little princess of White Tiger Star and a disciple of Vermillion Bird Star, he would never allow his little sister to like such an unknown wild youngster.
Because of his last transformation and rebirth, Yu Kai had become less youthful, looking quite handsome, with added maturity and firmness.
“Brother, what are you doing?” Yin Ziling pushed him away, looking quite unhappy, stamping her foot angrily. Although it didn’t shake the ground, it showed her displeasure. She had finally found someone she liked, and her brother was interfering.
“What’s wrong with your brother?” Yu Kai softly asked, his gaze shifting between the siblings.
Yin Wuji kept winking at Yin Ziling, signaling her not to speak.
“Humph!” Yin Ziling glared at him. “He has an eye problem, let’s not worry about him.”
“Oh!” Yu Kai nodded and sealed the mouths of Tu Yulang and Wen Chengzhi. Seeing Yin Ziling’s pitiful look, he lowered his hand that was about to seal her mouth. “I need to take this time to thoroughly study the Metal Law, don’t disturb me.”
“Okay!” Yin Ziling said happily, “Don’t worry, I’ll be right here guarding you, I won’t disturb you, and I won’t let them disturb you either!” She clasped her hands in front of her chest, looking at Yu Kai expectantly.
