Ch 149: Lost Leo’s power
“Tick, tock.”
The pointer on the electronic monitor moved rhythmically, emitting a regular sound, as if it were a countdown to the revival of life.
“All vital signs normal, recovering.” The intelligent medical system’s cold electronic voice echoed in the quiet ward, accurately reporting various information.
“Awakening imminent.”
“Beep!”
A crisp beep broke the final silence. Chen Yi suddenly opened his eyes, his gaze fixed on the familiar ceiling.
As if confirming whether he had truly returned to the real world.
His chest heaved violently, and he took a deep breath. The smell of disinfectant in the air made him feel incredibly real.
Chen Yi slowly turned his head, only to see Yu Guagua lying soundly asleep in his arms.
Her small body rose and fell slightly with her breath, her face still bearing a trace of childish innocence.
Chen Yi’s eyes twinkled, as if he had suddenly thought of something fun. A mischievous smile curved his lips as he reached out and gently pinched Yu Guagua’s nose.
Yu Guagua’s breath hitched, and she suddenly woke up. Her originally hazy eyes instantly widened, and she glared angrily at Chen Yi, her cheeks flushed slightly with anger.
Then, her small fists rained down on Chen Yi’s chest, muttering, “I, I hate you!”
She paused, her voice tinged with a hint of grievance, “You made Mom sad!”
But as Yu Guagua continued to punch him, her hands slowly retracted, as if she had suddenly remembered something, or as if she was afraid of losing the person in front of her.
She suddenly burrowed into Chen Yi’s embrace, hugging him tightly, as if this would give her enough security.
Chen Yi gently stroked Yu Guagua’s hair, his movements gentle and soothing. He looked at her with a half-smile, his eyes full of indulgence.
Then, Chen Yi turned to look at his mother, who was still resting on the side of the bed.
His mother’s hair was slightly disheveled, and her face bore an undeniable weariness. The worries and labors of these days had left deep marks on her face.
Chen Yi sighed softly, then calmly looked at the ceiling, his thoughts drifting far away.
“Beep, Tianxing City, 9:21 AM.”
“Good morning, Older Brother. This is Blue Star Calendar 2028.”
“Morning, Feili.”
Chen Yi nodded slightly and walked towards the Space Teleportation Station.
Time passed quickly. It is now Blue Star Calendar 2028, three years since the last great war.
Chen Yi stood by the roadside, looking up at the sky, his eyes piercing through the planet until he saw beyond the universe.
After a while, he looked at the pendant on his chest. It wasn’t time to leave yet.
Transversing the universe requires interstellar wormhole travel. Feili’s device is still unstable and needs further strengthening.
But everything here is still unresolved. The monster meteorite that Chang Ze Yue mentioned hasn’t been found yet.
And the faint sense of crisis in his heart.
Feili’s current level is SP+ Level Nine Stage, with an energy reaction at the minimum T1.5.
Because Feili absorbed some strange metals: Impreza, King Joe, and Galactron King…
Chen Yi raised his right hand. The Lion’s Eye on his ring finger lost all its luster, and the ruby was cracked.
“Whoosh!”
A gust of air accompanied by a low engine roar swept past. A luxurious and technologically advanced extended aircraft landed steadily in front of Chen Yi.
The smooth metal lines shimmered with a cold luster in the sunlight, showcasing its extraordinary status and cost.
This sudden scene instantly caught everyone’s attention. For a moment, there were gasps of amazement all around.
Passersby stopped, their eyes filled with shock, whispering speculations about which great personage had arrived.
The aircraft slowly lowered its hatch, emitting a slight mechanical whirring sound.
Zhou Chu Yi’s youthful and energetic face appeared in everyone’s sight.
With a sweet smile on her lips, but a mischievous glint in her eyes, she playfully said, “Get in, Teacher Chen?”
Chen Yi was startled at first, then looked away, a hint of helplessness flashing across his face, before slowly getting in.
Chen Yi came to his senses, looked at Zhou Chu Yi, who was smiling beside him, and asked with a puzzled look, “How are you here?”
Zhou Chu Yi blinked her eyes, deliberately playing coy, “Guess?”
Chen Yi turned his head, lay sideways, and turned his back to Zhou Chu Yi.
Seeing Chen Yi’s indifferent attitude, Zhou Chu Yi was suddenly amused. Pretending to be very angry, she puffed out her cheeks and pinched Chen Yi’s face.
It felt soft and squishy. She pinched it once and still felt unsatisfied, then used both hands at once, squeezing Chen Yi’s face towards the middle.
For a moment, Chen Yi’s face was squeezed out of shape, his eyes wide, his lips pouted, looking like a comical big pig’s head.
Chen Yi was helpless and could only turn his head, staring at Zhou Chu Yi expressionlessly, his eyes seemingly saying, “You’ve gone far enough.”
But Zhou Chu Yi acted as if she hadn’t seen it, her hands freely “toying” with Chen Yi’s face, pushing it up at one moment and pulling it sideways at another, playing merrily.
“That’s enough, I’m not Play-Doh.”
Chen Yi finally couldn’t help but speak, his eyes full of helplessness and indulgence.
Zhou Chu Yi reluctantly withdrew her hands. The two looked at each other, and for a moment, a subtle atmosphere filled the air.
Chen Yi looked closely at Zhou Chu Yi and suddenly felt that she was somewhat different from before.
There was a touch more girlish charm in her eyebrows and eyes, and her overall demeanor had subtly changed.
Huh? Why does she seem to be developing in the direction of a pure succubus?
Chen Yi was startled. It’s been three years, hasn’t it?
Chen Yi stared at Zhou Chu Yi and said in surprise, “You seem to have grown up?”
“Grown up?” Zhou Chu Yi was stunned at first, somewhat puzzled.
But the next second, she suddenly remembered what her older sister had told her, things like “girls change greatly at eighteen, becoming more and more charming,” and her chest inexplicably felt stuffy.
Her face instantly flushed red, and she hurriedly looked away at the window, secretly cursing in her heart, “This jerk! What is he saying!?”
At this moment, her heart felt like it was holding a little deer, thumping wildly, and her whole body seemed to be steaming.
It’s a good thing it was Chen Yi who said that. If it had been someone else, she would have probably punched them already.
Chen Yi looked at Zhou Chu Yi’s reaction and thought for a moment, seemingly realizing something.
Chen Yi slapped his forehead, thinking to himself that the issue of a girl’s age is a taboo. Did he offend her?
Thinking this, Chen Yi shrank his neck in shame and also turned his gaze to the window, not daring to look at Zhou Chu Yi again.
In fact, Chen Yi’s mental age far exceeded his appearance. Beneath his twenties-something looks, lay a heart that had weathered years.
Usually, he always treated Zhou Chu Yi as a younger sister, or a little girl who needed care.
After all, their mental ages differed considerably. In Chen Yi’s eyes, Zhou Chu Yi was just a little girl.
Not much different from Yu Guagua.
Especially when they first met, Chen Yi had no other thoughts.
Meanwhile, in the chaotic space of the universe, a wisp of black mist surged out from within.
The black mist formed a moon-shaped mark.
It looked around, as if searching for something. It quickly found its target.
The Shuangzi of the Mechanical God Cult were standing where the Rebranto Alien had died, digging something up.
Muttering something to themselves.
“I, I don’t want to die, don’t want to die…”
Everyone in their Mechanical God Cult had been implanted with the Rebranto Alien’s virus. If the Rebranto died, then they would all die.
And now, only one of them remained alive. A strong will to survive had kept him alive until now, but now he was at the end of his rope.
He looked down slightly. The Dark Spark, which had lost its light, was lying there.
His eyes shone with surprise. He gently picked it up, and a black mist descended from the sky with lightning speed, piercing into his body.
