Ch 62: Hey, you two, charge towards the Jeep!
Surrounded by a crowd, Ye Wusheng watched Chen Yi leave, escorted by several people, and felt a pang of envy.
Li Qu smiled with relief, saying nothing more, but silently memorized both their names.
Li Qu initially disliked Ye Wusheng’s formal demeanor; he admitted he seemed to have misjudged the man.
Both their personalities and abilities were exceptionally outstanding.
If Hua Country had more people like these two, how could those wandering souls ever lack a home…
“Beep, morning time 8:21, Xingyun City.”
Three days had passed since the National Mecha Simulation Competition. Chen Yi sat in a Jeep, contemplating the Intermediate Stage Stone and various strange items in his hands.
The container holding these treasures bore a signature: Ye Wusheng.
“This is yours; you likely need it more than I do.”
Feili wouldn’t care about such things, directly extending a large hand from under the Jeep to engulf everything inside.
“Wait, wait…”
Chen Yi sighed, “You gluttonous fellow!”
“Chen Yi, what are you doing up there?”
Zhou Chuyi watched Chen Yi from afar, asking in confusion.
“Aren’t we supposed to be training today?”
“Isn’t this about the prerequisites for swordsmanship practice?”
Gu Le, beside Zhou Chuyi, looked puzzled. Where were their swords?
“We’re training. Why wouldn’t we be?”
Chen Yi offered a strange smile, unsettling the two women, who wondered if he was up to something mischievous.
“Let me tell you, this thing is very fast. You need to concentrate.”
“Focus and reaction time, as well as your body’s instinctive response, are extremely important.”
“Wh-what?”
Zhou Chuyi and Gu Le were momentarily stunned. What was Chen Yi saying?
Chen Yi slammed the accelerator, and the mid-size Jeep roared like a sports car.
The familiar sound reminded Chen Yi of something. Feili, good job.
“Whoosh!”
The next second, the Jeep, as if fitted with a rocket, shot forward instantly.
“Wh-what!?”
Their eyes fixed on Chen Yi, who suddenly drove the Jeep towards them. Their survival instinct forced them to dive and scatter.
This was still the sandy area Chen Yi had chosen; both were covered in dust.
“Chen Yi, are you crazy!?”
Zhou Chuyi yelled at Chen Yi, her emotions running high. She was very particular about cleanliness.
Even Gu Le was puzzled; this was incredibly dangerous.
Chen Yi ignored them, the Jeep continuing its roaring charge.
Chen Yi had taken their Crystal Cores, rendering them unable to summon their mechas.
“Chen Yi, damn it, are you insane?!”
As they ran, they cursed at Chen Yi, fearing a hospital visit, or worse…
“It’s fine, you won’t end up in the hospital. I’m here.”
Chen Yi smirked, the steering wheel spinning constantly, the Jeep’s roar echoing across the sandy expanse.
“Don’t run! Come towards the Jeep!”
“Damn it, who’s crazy enough to do that?”
Zhou Chuyi and Gu Le dodged and yelled, their voices trembling.
“Don’t run away! Come towards the car!”
Chen Yi followed them, cursing from the car, then realized he didn’t have his cane. He’d been careless.
In their current state, they’d entered a survival mode, activating all parts of their bodies.
Normally, they wouldn’t have been able to dodge these attacks.
Zhou Chuyi saw the Jeep suddenly appear, her eyes widening, her mouth slightly open. She leaped, using the hood to propel herself to the side.
The previously delicate girls were now covered in dust, their faces etched with terror.
The next second, the Jeep, with a roar, reappeared before them.
“Chen Yi! I’ll never forgive you!”
“I’ll kill you, Chen Yi!”
If looks could kill, they might have beaten Chen Yi to a pulp, but he ignored them.
“Hee hee hee, the Jeep’s coming!”
Two hours later…
Chen Yi sat in the car, watching them from a distance, keeping his distance to avoid a beating.
Zhou Chuyi and Gu Le, disregarding the dirt, collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath, their hateful gazes fixed on Chen Yi.
Their faces were bruised; Chen Yi could feel their resentment from afar.
Chen Yi smiled. The effect seemed excellent. The Jeep was reinforced; they’d actually managed to dodge.
Chen Yi took out a toy Yu Guagua had given him: two miniature figures, one Feili and one Chen Yi.
These small figures were simple to operate, using fingers to manipulate wooden boards connected to the dolls by strings. Quite amusing.
“Beep, beep, monsters are about to appear in the east district of Xingyun City. Requesting support.”
“Beep, beep, monsters are about to appear in the west district of Xingyun City.”
“Monsters?”
Chen Yi paused, throwing the Crystal Cores to them. They caught them, summoned their mechas, and charged at him relentlessly.
“Hiss…”
“Feili, run!”
Chen Yi gasped. The two girls were like they’d been injected with adrenaline, missiles exploding behind Feili.
“Quick, quick, run, Feili!”
Chen Yi’s eyes bulged. He hadn’t expected their hatred to reach this level. Feili initiated a space warp and vanished.
“Damn it, let that bastard escape.”
Zhou Chuyi took a deep breath, ignoring the dust on her, and headed towards the monsters.
“He can’t escape.”
Gu Le said emotionlessly, following Zhou Chuyi, harboring a vicious plan.
Chen Yi drove Feili to the east district, finding that Chai Lang had already eliminated all the monsters there.
There were only strange insects, which turned into black Qi upon death.
Seeing Chen Yi arrive, Chai Lang approached, peering into the car, but didn’t see the two women.
Chen Yi put the car away and asked,
“Brother Chai Lang, what happened?”
“Some Level 2 small monsters, nothing to fear.”
“But it’s strange; there seem to be more and more of these insects in the city.”
“These insects are unknown in origin. They turn into black Qi after death, but leave behind a puddle of green liquid.”
Chai Lang shared his observations, squatting to examine the dark green liquid on the ground.
Chen Yi recalled the things he’d seen those days. He stood beside Chai Lang, lost in thought…
