Ch 99: The Big Dipper? A crazed woman
Zeng Yi, standing beneath the ladder, tilted her head slightly, and spoke with some puzzlement.
“Yu Guagua, you two, what are you looking for?”
Yu Guagua and Li Ziyi were seen standing on the ladder, a pile of disorganized books before them. In the midst of this enormous bookshelf, they appeared tiny.
“I want to look for a book, an astronomy book.”
Yu Guagua answered while flipping through the books; Zeng Yi placed a hand to her lips, lost in thought.
“Hmm…”
“Then Xia Xia and I will go play. Hurry up, you two.”
“Okay.”
The two nodded. Yu Guagua had a strange feeling; those stars were definitely not accidentally seen, but rather, with purpose.
“Found it!”
Li Ziyi held aloft an ancient-looking book, happily looking at Yu Guagua before climbing down.
“What?”
Yu Guagua climbed down and walked to Li Ziyi. Li Ziyi opened the book to the page on the Big Dipper.
The book recorded that the Big Dipper was regarded as a guardian constellation, representing a protective power.
It could guide people forward, offering direction in the darkness, symbolizing the guardian god hidden within people’s hearts, giving people the belief to realize their dreams.
People can determine the season based on the direction of the Big Dipper’s handle.
For example: “When the Dipper’s handle points north, winter comes to the land.”
At the same time, it was also an ancient standard star indicating the 12 months, used to formulate the calendar and guide agricultural activities.
“Here.”
Li Ziyi pointed at a location in the book. Unfortunately, there were no pictures, and the text was somewhat obscure for a six-year-old child.
“I don’t know how to read this.”
Li Ziyi was somewhat annoyed. He had seen these characters before, but he couldn’t recall them.
“I know.”
Yu Guagua stepped forward, furrowed his brow in thought for a moment, then pointed, rearranging the order of the Big Dipper stars, as they were jumbled in the book.
“It should be Tian Shu Star, Tian Xuan Star, Tian Ji Star, Tian Quan Star, Yu Heng Star, Kai Yang Star, and Yao Guang Star.”
“So that’s it. Guagua, what are you looking for these for?”
“Do you have some kind of…”
Before Li Ziyi could finish, Yu Guagua quickly covered his mouth, blinking rapidly.
Li Ziyi then noticed Shushu Mama standing behind them. Her amiable smile made Li Ziyi’s hair stand on end, as if he had fallen into an abyss.
“What are you two looking for?”
Shushu Mama picked up the book from their table and carefully examined it, scanning it for anything unusual.
“The Big Dipper?”
“It seems you two are quite studious.”
Shushu Mama put down the ancient book and patted both their heads.
“But you also need to balance work and rest.”
After Shushu Mama finished speaking, she turned and left. Seeing her leave, Li Ziyi finally relaxed.
He initially liked Shushu Mama, and he also liked the children here, but he noticed that more and more children were being adopted.
Originally, none of this meant anything, until Yu Guagua told him a terrifying truth: those children hadn’t been adopted at all.
So where did the unadopted children go? A terrifying thought emerged from Li Ziyi’s mind.
Before they could think further, the ground began to shake violently. The two put away their books and looked out the window; a giant monster appeared in the village.
They were stunned. Why was something they saw in a book appearing here!?
“Di Di, strange energy detected in the Child Area A.”
“Di Di, energy detected in Areas B and C.”
Shen Yizhi walked over with a serious expression, looking at everything displayed on the screen. A woman was shown on the screen, running frantically. She was the culprit behind this incident.
“Human emotions are truly complex.”
“Subdue it.”
As soon as Shen Yizhi finished speaking, the eyes of the Ultraman outside instantly lit up, and not just the Ultraman, but also the Mechanical Monsters.
“Guagua, where are you going!?”
Li Ziyi shouted as Yu Guagua ran away from his side.
“Zeng Yi and the others are still in the village!”
Hearing Yu Guagua’s voice fading into the distance, Li Ziyi gritted his teeth and ran after him.
Impreza was wreaking havoc in the center of the village. Some children who had never seen a monster before were instantly terrified and froze in place.
Only Zeng Yi and Wu Xiaxia were composed. Zeng Yi pulled the smaller children along, running towards the church.
Shushu Mama stood at the highest point of the church. Because of Impreza’s appearance, the Research Institute’s surveillance briefly lost control.
“Stop, sister.”
Shushu Mama looked at the crazed woman in front of her. Her gaze was calm; her expression unchanged.
“Ha, hahaha!”
But the crazed woman wouldn’t listen. She ran off again, only to be paralyzed by a bolt of electricity.
Her actions had already placed her on the God Sect’s kill list, and Shushu had to kill her today.
A knife plunged directly into the woman’s body. The crazed woman regained a little clarity. Her eyes expressed more pity than anything else, as she collapsed onto Shushu.
“Shushu…”
Shushu supported the crazed woman, her expression unchanged, as if she had done something trivial.
“Incident resolved.”
“Di, received.”
On the other side, an Ultraman suddenly appeared beside Impreza, delivering a flying kick that sent Impreza flying. Several of the already few houses disappeared.
Flames erupted from the rubble, along with the cries of a little girl.
“Waaah, I’m scared, Mama.”
Wu Xiaxia was pinned under a large stone. Her young face was covered in dust, and her hands were bleeding.
“Di, di, energy reaction reaching Level 14, about to break through to Level 15.”
“What?”
Shen Yizhi rushed over to check. He looked at the little girl in the rubble. The energy reaction was getting stronger and stronger. If it were released nearby, she could perfectly control it.
“Di, energy still rising!”
“Still rising!?”
“No, it seems to be falling!”
Yu Guagua ran quickly, dodging falling rocks, and then ran to Wu Xiaxia’s side.
“Xia Xia, don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid, I’m here.”
“Guagua, waaah.”
Seeing Yu Guagua, Wu Xiaxia cried even louder; her tears flowed uncontrollably.
“Guagua, it hurts so much, waaah!”
“It doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t hurt, I’m here.”
Yu Guagua looked at the enormous stone, gritted his teeth, and used all his strength to move it.
“Bang!”
Yu Guagua carried the crying Wu Xiaxia on his back and quickly fled the dangerous area, constantly comforting Wu Xiaxia even as he ran.
“Xia Xia, don’t cry, don’t cry…”
Meanwhile, Li Ziyi saw Zeng Yi, covered in dust, with a group of children behind her.
“Where are Xia Xia and Guagua?”
“I, I don’t know.”
Zeng Yi looked behind her. Wu Xiaxia was nowhere to be seen. Tears welled up in her eyes. She was, after all, only a six-year-old child.
“Run!”
A familiar voice suddenly came from the fiery ruins. Yu Guagua, carrying Wu Xiaxia, burst from the rubble, his body smeared with a red substance.
“Guagua!”
