Chapter 246: Confident in Doing Well
The next day, Song Chu brought everyone to the convention center where the trade fair was held.
They first went to submit the application materials. Xu Ting happened to be there, so he took them to their assigned booth.
Right now, it was just a partitioned empty area, nothing was there, but the location was obviously very good. Although it was not at the center of the main entrance, it was close to the center and quite prominent.
Xu Ting said, “The trade fair can provide light steel keel frames to set up your booth, but you will need to take care of the decoration yourselves.”
Song Chu nodded, “Okay, please help us set up the booth frame when the time comes, and we will take care of the decoration.”
“If you need any help, just say so,” Xu Ting added.
Song Chu smiled, “Don’t worry, I won’t be shy about asking.”
Xu Ting had helped a lot with this exhibition, and she kept it in mind.
Xu Ting then took them around the exhibition hall, explained some precautions for participating in the exhibition, and left since he had work to do.
Song Chu instructed Wei Ran and Ding Peng, “Starting tomorrow, the two of you will bring people here to oversee the booth setup. I will spend the next few days with Gu Yue, Yan Fei, and Song Ping to make some other preparations.”
She had already figured out how to decorate the booth, and it was a good opportunity for Gu Yue to take some time to go to the farm.
Wei Ran and Ding Peng now had great faith in Song Chu. “No problem, we guarantee to complete the task assigned by Director Song.”
They had also fought to come here first this time, and they would definitely learn a lot.
“I have confidence in your work,” Song Chu nodded, then took them back to the booth and explained in detail what she roughly wanted.
This would need to be discussed further with the exhibition’s construction staff, but Wei Ran and the others needed to understand it since they would be supervising.
The two listened very carefully. Song Chu also gave them a drawing to study.
The people who came from the factories were even more impressed with Song Chu, feeling that she was truly omnipotent.
They also came over to listen carefully, as it would be good to learn more.
In the afternoon, after finishing his work, Xu Ting came to find Song Chu and Gu Yue, inviting them to his home for dinner.
Song Ping, as Song Chu’s secretary, was responsible for coordinating work. She took the initiative to take everyone back to the hotel and arranged everything properly.
Her work ability had improved a lot now, and she had become capable of handling things independently after being trained by Song Chu.
Song Chu also deliberately gave her many such opportunities, as independent arrangements and negotiations would lead to faster progress.
Yan Fei had to find friends he knew in Guangdong Province and left separately.
Song Chu and Gu Yue brought two large bags of local specialties from Nan Province and products from the food processing factory, such as oil-preserved fermented tofu and vacuum-packed chicken and duck meat, to the Xu family.
The Old Lady was very happy to see Song Chu and the others. Seeing them carrying so many things, she chided, “You should have just come, why did you bring so many things?”
Song Chu smiled and said, “These are all local specialties from our hometown. I brought them especially for you to try. Please don’t be shy about accepting them.”
The Old Lady took them, “Alright, I consider you as my adopted daughter, so I won’t be shy.”
She really liked Song Chu very much, not only because she saved her on the train but also because she felt a connection with her.
Xu Ting was speechless, “Grandma, if you take Song Chu as your adopted daughter, wouldn’t that mess up the seniority?”
He couldn’t let that happen, otherwise, he would have to call Song Chu, who was younger than him, Little Aunt? What a joke.
The Old Lady playfully slapped him, “You’re so troublesome.”
Putting the things down, the Old Lady pulled Song Chu to sit down, “If this kid bullies you, just tell me, and I’ll deal with him.”
Song Chu affectionately held her hand, “Brother Xu is very good to us, don’t scare him.”
“That’s right, Chu Chu is still the best,” Xu Ting said with a grin.
Seeing that the two had a good relationship, the Old Lady smiled deeper, “That’s good. Anyway, just treat him as your brother in the future, and ask him for help if you need anything.”
She had originally intended to take Song Chu as her adopted daughter, but after her grandson mentioned it, it seemed that the seniority was indeed a bit inappropriate.
It would be good for her grandson and Chu Chu to get along like siblings, and he could take care of her more in the future.
“That’s great, I’ll treat him as my brother,” Song Chu nodded with a smile.
The Old Lady’s gaze circled between Song Chu and Gu Yue, “Are you two dating?”
She felt that the atmosphere between the two young people had become more harmonious since they arrived this time, and their eyes were filled with tenderness when they looked at each other, so she asked.
Song Chu smiled and said, “You are so perceptive. I was just about to tell you about this.”
“I’ve lived for so many years, I’m experienced,” The Old Lady looked at Gu Yue again and said to Song Chu, “You two are a good match.”
“Thank you, Aunt Pang,” Gu Yue said with a smile first.
Although the Old Lady asked Song Chu to treat Xu Ting like a brother, they didn’t formally acknowledge the relationship, so he still addressed her as before.
The Old Lady was very happy, as if her own daughter had found a partner. She kept talking to Song Chu and Gu Yue, and then went to cook herself.
Soon, Xu Ting’s father and mother came back from work.
They joined the chat together, and after the meal was ready, they ate and chatted together.
Xu Wei said to Gu Yue, “Little Gu, our Foreign Affairs Department would like to ask for your help as an interpreter for this trade fair. Would that be okay?”
Since Gu Yue helped translate and secured the production line last time, they hadn’t found anyone stronger in this area, so they had been hoping to ask Gu Yue for help.
Gu Yue first looked at Song Chu. Seeing her nod, he smiled and agreed, “Sure.”
“Haha, then I’ll thank you in advance,” Xu Wei raised his glass and said.
Gu Yue also raised his glass and clinked it, “You’re welcome.”
“How are the preparations going on Little Song’s side? Is there anything you need help with?” Xu Wei asked Song Chu.
Song Chu put down her chopsticks and smiled, “The preparations are almost done. I haven’t encountered any problems yet. If I need anything, I’ll come to you.”
Xu Wei was one of the people in charge of this Import and Export Trade Fair.
“I’m very optimistic about the exhibition projects you submitted,” he nodded with a smile.
Song Chu had previously sent a down jacket to each member of their family. He hadn’t paid much attention to it at first, but after wearing it, he found it really comfortable and warm. He thought it might become a highlight in the clothing category of this trade fair.
Song Chu smiled confidently and said, “I’m also confident that our exhibition projects will do well.”
“Haha, then strive to export directly. Once successful, the added value of your products will be much greater,” Xu Wei said meaningfully.
Song Chu understood his meaning, “Yes, we will work hard.”
In this era, exporting abroad was a relatively difficult thing for the people of the country. If it was accomplished, it would become a topic of conversation.
People would also have a mentality that if even foreigners valued something, it must be good, so they would buy, buy, buy.
