Ch 88: The Rescue Plan
Lorin’s words had just fallen when Kathlyn, as if recalling something, said, “Putia flowers? I’ve heard that your father, Andre, also loved this kind of flower.”
Hearing this, Lorin looked at Kathlyn with a puzzled look on his face and asked, “How did you know?”
Kathlyn smiled slightly. “Of course it was my aunt, your biological mother, Deina, who told me when she was lucid.”
Lorin realized that it had been a long time since he had visited his biological mother, Deina. He wondered if her madness had improved?
“So that’s how it is…” Lorin muttered to himself.
Thinking about this, perhaps Marjorie’s deep admiration for her father led her to also love this Putia flower.
Everyone had finished talking about their favorite flowers, and they started talking about other topics.
As everyone chatted, Kay couldn’t help but ask Lorin.
“Lorin, when we went to the Underground Casino, you made an agreement with the Casino Owner to participate in ten Mech Duels. Have you thought it through? In a place without legal constraints, are you really going to keep the appointment?”
Lorin nodded firmly. “It’s my own decision, and I should fulfill it.”
Alaya suddenly reached out and tugged on Lorin’s sleeve, saying hesitantly, “Um… Master, could I ask you a favor?”
“What is it?”
Alaya said, “Every time I recall the Imperial Constabulary arresting my father and me, it feels like a nightmare! They imprisoned my father, causing our father-daughter separation. They also sold me to that terrifying Underground Slave Auction House.”
She took a deep breath and continued to recall, “I clearly remember being imprisoned in a huge and gloomy underground prison. There, the light was so dim that it was almost impossible to see anything around me. And there were many helpless girls like me imprisoned there, I don’t know where they were captured or sold from.”
Gratitude shone in Alaya’s eyes: “However, Heaven still favored me, allowing me to meet you, Master. But, although I gained freedom, there are many girls like me in that prison in the Auction House, they may not be as lucky as I am. If only I could save them all…”
As soon as she said this, everyone fell silent, lost in deep thought.
Especially Lorin, Kay, and Owen, their minds filled with the scenes they had witnessed in the Underground Casino.
There, the lights were bright, the music and dancing were lively, but behind this prosperity lurked endless depravity and decay.
Amidst the dazzling lights and intoxicating drinks, indulgence in sensual pleasures and unrestrained desires created a scene of debauchery and extravagance that was unbearable to witness.
But what was even more unforgettable was the tragic scene they witnessed at the terrifying Slave Auction House.
One by one, young and beautiful slave girls, their bodies bound by heavy chains, stood on the stage without dignity, allowing the greedy nobles and wealthy merchants below to examine and comment on them at will.
These girls were like commodities, casually selected and bought and sold. The fear, despair, and helplessness in their eyes deeply pierced the hearts of Lorin and the others.
At this moment, Lorin began to question himself. Saving these poor girls would also comfort his conscience.
Thinking of this, he unconsciously reached out and gently patted Alaya’s shoulder, comforting her in a firm yet gentle tone:
“Don’t worry, Alaya. I will do my best to find a way. That inhuman Slave Auction House should not exist, and as for those girls you mentioned who are suffering there, we will definitely find a way to rescue them!”
“Thank you, Master.”
Korvi stood quietly to the side, her gaze fixed on Lorin, never moving. Her beautiful eyes revealed complex emotions, trust, and a trace of imperceptible admiration.
She had heard from Kathlyn about the various scenes of the Underground Slave Auction House. That place was full of darkness and depravity, and countless innocent lives were traded like commodities, at the mercy of others.
Every time she thought of these things, Korvi would feel a chill down her spine.
If Lorin hadn’t stepped forward to stop her father, she might not have escaped the fate of becoming a pitiful girl at the auction. Thinking of this, Korvi’s gratitude to Lorin grew even stronger.
The blond youth before her had clear and firm eyes, radiating a reassuring force.
Korvi couldn’t help but think: Perhaps it was this kindness and reliability that made her fall for him.
However, despite the myriad thoughts in her heart, Korvi maintained a smile, saying nothing, silently gazing at Lorin, as if she wanted to deeply imprint his figure in her heart.
Lorin looked at everyone and said.
“Although we don’t have a plan yet, I still have to participate in ten duels at the Dueling Arena. I will first negotiate with the Casino Owner, then slowly plan, and then find a way to gradually rescue those girls who have been taken to the Auction House.”
“Hmm.” Kay nodded, putting his hand on Lorin’s shoulder.
“I’ll go with you to the duel.”
Owen said the same: “I, I, I’ll go with you too. We three brothers agreed that no matter what happens, we’ll solve it together.”
“Good.” Lorin stood up, picked up the wine glass in front of him, and said:
“With you, I’m at ease. I won’t say any more, let’s toast!”
“Cheers!”
Lorin, Kay, Owen, Korvi, Kathlyn, Shirley, and Alaya stood up from the table together and clinked their glasses.
The gathering continued late into the night. It was getting late, and it was time for everyone to say goodbye.
“It’s about time. If we have time in the future, let’s get together again. Let’s say goodbye for now, everyone. See you tomorrow.” Lorin said.
Everyone said their goodbyes and came to the entrance of the Flower Shop.
Just then, Korvi was seen walking over carrying a large bouquet of various flowers.
Then, she walked in front of everyone and gave each person a bouquet.
There were roses for Kathlyn, irises for Kay, sunflowers for Owen, violets for Shirley, and desert roses for Alaya—she had already received those earlier.
Finally, there was a delicate bouquet of Putia flowers, which Korvi handed to Lorin.
“Thank you, Korvi.”
Korvi didn’t speak, but silently smiled at everyone.
