Ch 534: Water Pool
Daoist Changhua almost opened his eyes, but remembering the fate of those he had seen before, he forcibly restrained himself, merely letting out a cold humph. Without a word, he blasted another wave of killing aura towards Jiang Nanyu’s location!
The killing aura was blocked by golden light. Jiang Nanyu made a spell gesture, and the Demon-Slaying Sword zipped towards Daoist Changhua. Then, just as he prepared for resistance, it veered around to his rear and above him. Following Jiang Nanyu’s control, it swiftly released the yin energy that had been absorbed but not yet released.
The yin energy posed no threat to Daoist Changhua in his current state. He stood firmly in place, allowing the yin energy to envelop him, his face like a skeleton wearing wrinkled human skin, yet bearing an eerie and terrifying smile.
“Looking for death!”
“Whether I’m looking for death or not is yet to be seen. Old man, look behind you!” Jiang Nanyu shouted.
Daoist Changhua naturally wouldn’t fall for it.
Unbeknownst to him, all this yin energy was the mist previously absorbed by the Demon-Slaying Sword. After the Demon-Slaying Sword expelled this mist, the mist that had been trying to consume Jiang Nanyu, seemed to find companions and surged towards Daoist Changhua’s location.
The General roared, and under its intimidation and driving force, those things rapidly closed in on Daoist Changhua, surrounding and enveloping him.
Faintly, countless grayish-white hands emerged from the mist, reaching for Daoist Changhua, tugging at his clothes, and various sounds intertwined around his ears.
The Demon-Slaying Sword took the opportunity to slide back into its scabbard and returned to Jiang Nanyu’s hand.
“Shu girl, what are you still doing? Hurry and run!”
Before leaving, Jiang Nanyu quickly retrieved from her backpack the “gift” she had prepared for Daoist Changhua.
A wooden puppet tied with a red rope, with the three characters “Peng Lufei” written on it.
Although she didn’t know Peng Lufei’s birth date and time, it didn’t matter. Sometimes, you don’t need a birth date and time to do bad things, especially since her goal was merely to provoke Old Thief Chang Hua and disgust him.
After Jiang Nanyu’s series of actions, the General had already dug a pit nearby, quickly tossing the wooden puppet inside. Then, she threw in some recently deceased animal corpses, and covered the pit.
She then performed a spell gesture and dropped a talisman. The talisman ignited a flame upon impact, rising into the air and emitting thick smoke. The smoke gradually condensed into a blurry shadow, ultimately becoming a “shadow.”
A shadow that looked strikingly like Peng Lufei.
Jiang Nanyu gave Chang Yinzi the middle finger, making an international gesture. The General appeared beside Jiang Nanyu, who expertly leaped onto its back, allowing it to carry her away in the chaos.
Before entering the Bewitching Ravine, the Old Taoist had warned her that if she encountered an enemy, she should not engage in prolonged combat. In the Old Taoist’s words: “Running away from danger is not shameful. When you’re dead, it’s not shameful anymore; there won’t even be any bone fragments left.”
This place is the Bewitching Ravine; dealing with someone here shouldn’t be difficult, right?
Jiang Nanyu wasn’t worried at all.
After putting distance between herself and those things, Jiang Nanyu immediately removed the cloth from her eyes, carefully observing her surroundings. After confirming her temporary safety, she couldn’t help but ask: “Where’s my old man?”
The Feather Fan suddenly appeared, waving in mid-air: “Here, here! Come quickly, I’ve found the entrance!”
Jiang Nanyu didn’t hesitate and immediately ran forward.
Shortly after, she carefully navigated through the thorny bushes and finally saw the Old Taoist in front of a small waterfall.
To call it a waterfall is an exaggeration; it was more like a small mountain spring, slowly flowing downwards and gathering in a water pool.
The water pool wasn’t large, but the water was exceptionally clear, allowing one to see the fish swimming and the water plants swaying. At first glance, the scenery was beautiful and eye-catching.
If Jiang Nanyu were an ordinary person, she might have been deceived by the scenery, immersed in such beauty. But as a member of the Occult Sect, she saw through the beautiful faรงade and perceived the terrifying sight hidden beneath.
What she saw was actually a blood-red pool of water emitting a foul smell. The cheerfully swimming fish were corpses with only their skeletons left, and the swaying water plants were nothing more than hair left behind from long-decomposed skeletal remains…
Everything was terrifying.
Jiang Nanyu covered her nose and recoiled in disgust.
“If an ordinary person saw this, their first reaction would be to drink the water from the pool, right? If they drank this corpse waterโฆ” she shuddered, unable to imagine the consequences.
Chang Yinzi chuckled, raised his feather duster, and swept it forward. The previously calm water pool instantly changed. The water flow became rapid, and soon, bubbling blood mixed with white smoke continuously welled up.
This scene continued until nightfall.
Once darkness completely descended, the mist miasma once again enveloped the entire Bewitching Ravine, and the water pool finally revealed its true, ultimate form…
