Ch 110: Walking Into A Trap

The next day, Aguena had the soldiers ambush by the City Gate. She walked to the City Gate and started chatting up the Guard Soldier.

“Young Man, I have some things I want to ask you.”

Aguena acted flirtatiously in front of the Guard Soldier, and the Guard Soldier was captivated.

“Hehe, Young Lady, what do you want to ask?”

“Have any children come here recently?”

Upon hearing about a child, the Guard Soldier became vigilant. Bal had previously contacted the Self-Defense Force, instructing them to watch out for strangers asking about children.

“Why are you asking this?”

The soldier’s expression was somewhat serious.

“I got separated from my child when we came here. I don’t know if anyone has seen that child.”

Aguena put on a pitiful act, and the Guard Soldier’s heart softened.

“What does your child look like?”

“She’s a girl, about five years old. Black hair and golden eyes.”

“Never seen her.”

The Guard Soldier actually knew very well that the child she was talking about was Philia, whom Bal had recently adopted. He kept a close eye on her, planning to report to his superiors after this woman left.

“That’s a real shame.”

After Aguena finished speaking, she left. The Guard Soldier was just about to inform his Companion when he found himself unable to move.

“Wh…what’s going on?!”

It turned out that while chatting, Aguena had already used Magic Threads to bind his body. He would soon become Aguena’s Puppet.

Just then, Randall arrived with his Team Members, preparing to leave the city to continue the extermination of Tree Demons. They greeted the Guard Soldier, but the soldier was being controlled and did not react for a moment. Randall walked to his side, and Katerina, sensing the Magic Fluctuation of the Curse nearby, began chanting Dispel Magic to release the Guard Soldier from control.

“Phew…what just happened? I couldn’t move for a moment.”

“You were cursed. I dispelled the curse for you. Don’t thank me.”

The Guard Soldier was about to say something, but he couldn’t remember what had just happened, so he had to give up and watched Randall and his team leave the city.

Aguena watched Katerina dispel her ability. She thought Katerina was the powerful presence she had sensed in the Guild. She then ordered her Puppet Soldiers to find an opportunity to eliminate Katerina.

Aguena followed Randall and his team to the place where they had exterminated the Tree Demons yesterday. At her signal, her two Puppet Soldiers rushed out intending to ambush them.

Nick was as usual. He blocked the attack with his Large Shield and with a forceful push sent the two attacking Puppet Soldiers flying back.

“What’s going on? The feel is wrong, but it also feels familiar.”

Nick looked in the direction of the Puppet Soldiers that had been sent flying. There stood a Tree Demon. After pointing out the Tree Demon’s location to Randall and his team, he began to draw the Tree Demon’s attacks.

Aguena looked at the Puppet Soldier whose neck had been broken by Nick’s shield. She was surprised.

“What kind of Monster is this? Two elites can be killed with just a shield strike?”

Nick didn’t know. He thought it was the Tree Demon’s attack, which is why he had pushed his shield without hesitation.

After dealing with the Tree Demon and the two Puppet Soldiers, Randall Squad continued exploring the Forest to exterminate Tree Demons. Aguena kept a close eye on things and followed them. She found that the Healer in Randall’s team seemed to be a pushover. She then ordered her Puppets to capture the Healer and use them as hostages.

Sera was recovering the team’s consumed stamina. She heard the sounds of movement in the Forest and immediately became alert. She pointed in one direction, telling the Team Members to be ready. Everyone looked in the direction Sera was pointing, holding their Weapons ready to fight at any time.

However, it was only a false alarm created by Aguena’s Puppets. When everyone was attracted by the noise, two Puppets suddenly rushed out from the Forest behind Randall and his team toward Sera. Coincidentally, an Elite Tree Demon pierced the bodies of the two Puppets with Vines. Sera noticed this commotion and turned her head to see two people being dragged away by the Elite Tree Demon’s Vines. She immediately screamed.

“Aaaaaahhhhhhhh!”

Reynard quickly turned around. He chopped the Vines with an axe and, with Nina’s cooperation, killed the Elite Tree Demon that had saved Sera.

“Alas, I was still too slow. I didn’t save them.”

Reynard sighed, looking at the dead Puppets. After a brief moment of silence, Nina and Katerina worked together to burn the two bodies.

Aguena was furious. Why was every Action ruined by those damned Tree Demons? So she sent the remaining Puppets to clean up the surrounding Tree Demons first, then deal with these people.

After the Puppets painstakingly cleaned up the surrounding Tree Demons, they were also seriously injured. Aguena was numb; why were there so many Monsters here?

Just as Aguena was about to abandon her Puppets and use threads to control Randall and his team, a roar of immense pressure came from the Forest.

“There are Experts?!”

Aguena hid in the Forest, extremely panicked. But Randall, not far away, was very calm.

“Is it showing up now? The Tree Demon King.”

That’s right, the Commission Randall Squad received today was personally issued by Bal: to exterminate the Tree Demon King. Bal felt that they had the sufficient ability and qualifications to face a Level A danger-level Monster.

The Tree Demon King ignored Randall and his team. It attacked the forest where Aguena was hiding with Vines.

“Why are you attacking me?!”

Aguena immediately stood up and ran. She had no Puppets, and her abilities were insufficient to deal with this kind of Monster. But the Tree Demon King didn’t care. Aguena’s Puppets emitted the same Magic as her. They were all seriously injured and dead after cleaning up the Tree Demons. The enraged Tree Demon King locked onto Aguena’s Magic Fluctuation. It was going to kill this Intruder.

Randall saw the Tree Demon King’s strange actions, but didn’t think too much about it, so he told everyone to proceed cautiously and prepare to take down the Tree Demon King together.

Nick struck the Tree Demon King’s trunk with a powerful Shield strike. The Tree Demon King merely retaliated with Bullet Vines. Enraged, it only wanted to capture Aguena first.

Randall and Reynard saw that the Tree Demon King was momentarily distracted, so they immediately rushed forward, cleaning away the Bullet Vines and Twigs from the Tree Demon King’s body using the method Bal had taught them. The Tree Demon King was finally attracted by Randall and his team’s actions, but it still wanted to catch Aguena. So it sent out two Vines to flank Aguena and used the remaining branches and Vines to attack Randall.

Seeing that the Tree Demon King was distracted by Randall and his team, Aguena stopped in place, ready to reap the benefits, but she was the clam. The Tree Demon King’s Vines quickly entangled Aguena and dragged her to its side.

Nick forcefully resisted the Tree Demon King’s attacks. Nina and Katerina continuously bombarded the Tree Demon King with Magic. Countless rays of light and Fireballs struck the Tree Demon King, and the entangled Aguena was also affected.

After the Mage Squad succeeded, Randall and Reynard attacked again. This time, they aimed directly for the Tree Demon King’s Core. Reynard split the trunk before Randall, exposing the Tree Demon King’s Core to the air. Randall followed Reynard’s attack, piercing the Core with his sword.

The Tree Demon King was defeated, its fallen body pinning down Aguena.

“Sa…save me…”

Aguena groaned for help. She hadn’t completed her Mission. She didn’t want to die.

Randall Squad quickly dismembered the Tree Demon King’s Materials. Because the Architects’ Guild had successfully improved its construction technology, they now needed a lot of these things, so Randall could only cry as he made a fortune.

“Hmm? I seem to hear a cry for help?”

Sera heard Aguena’s cry for help while assisting Reynard in stripping the materials.

“It’s probably just an illusion. It’s so dangerous here, besides us, no one else would come here.”

Reynard didn’t hear it. He was still working hard to cut the trunk.

“Sa…save me…”

“There really is a sound!”

Following Aguena’s cry for help, Sera found Aguena, who was now severely injured.

After everyone lifted Aguena out, Sera began using Healing Magic to heal Aguena.

“Doesn’t she look a little familiar?”

“Could it be Miss Ailena?”

“What is she doing here?”

Others whispered amongst themselves. After Sera finished healing Aguena’s injuries, Aguena regained consciousness. At this time, Randall approached her and knelt down.

“Miss Ailena, what are you doing here?”

The rescued Aguena was not a good person. She immediately used Magic Threads to bind Randall, preparing to control him to kill those who had made her suffer. But when she wrapped the threads around Randall and used her Magic to control him, a miraculous scene happened.

As soon as Aguena activated the Curse, her Magic flowed along the threads to Randall’s Armor, but Kofit and Phia had made special modifications to Randall’s Armor. The Armor emitted a faint White Light, and Aguena’s Curse was reflected back to her along the threads. Now she had become Randall’s Puppet.

“Miss Ailena?”

“…”

“What are you doing here?”

“I am Aguena, a Spy sent by Lord Guda to investigate D001.”

“…”

Everyone was speechless. They had to take the Materials and Aguena to Bal’s Office, and thus this scene occurred.
