Ch 121: A Hero’s Margin
Today’s morning was sunny and bright, the cold winter was coming to an end, and the temperature was slightly milder than before.
“Mommy! Hungry!”
Philia opened Phia’s door and jumped onto the bed, burrowing into Phia’s futon, crying that she was hungry.
Phia rubbed her eyes, opened her sleepy eyes, and looked at the extra little darling in the futon, looking pitiful.
“Mmm… Philia?”
“Mother, I’m hungry.”
“Go find Xiaoyue to make you breakfast.”
Phia was about to turn over and close her eyes, but Philia wouldn’t let her.
“No, Philia wants to eat breakfast with Mommy.”
The mother and daughter’s conversation woke Bal from his sleep. He opened his eyes, looked at the two cute ones, big and small, and directly hugged them both.
“Good morning, Philia, Wife.”
“Let go…”
Because Bal was holding the two people, Phia was very close to Bal; she could even feel a certain heat source, so she blushed and tried to break free from Bal’s embrace.
“Father, good morning. Philia is hungry and wants to eat breakfast with Father and Mother.”
Seeing Bal awake, Philia immediately went over and pushed Phia, who had been trying to struggle, into Bal’s arms.
Bal smiled and rubbed Philia’s head.
“Philia, have you washed your face?”
“Not yet.”
“Then go wash your face first, and we’ll get up and make you food later, okay?”
“Okay!”
Philia obediently got out of bed and went downstairs to wash up. Bal watched Philia leave, his gentle smile turning into a mischievous grin. He rested his chin on Phia’s shoulder, Phia trembling.
“Darling, it’s time to get up.”
“Get off… Aren’t you going to cook…? Mmm…”
Bal hugged Phia tightly again, and Phia immediately surrendered.
“It’ll be quick.”
Bal rolled over, pinning Phia beneath him, starting a morning battle.
More than half an hour later, Bal carried Phia downstairs. He saw Philia sitting on the sofa, so he put Phia on the sofa.
“Father is so slow!”
“Sorry, sorry, do you want a sandwich?”
“I want extra butter, and if possible, a layer of cheese on the meat!”
“No problem! Father will do it right away.”
“Yay!”
Bal went into the kitchen to cook. Philia snuggled into Phia’s arms and started acting cute.
“Mommy~”
“Hmm? What is it?”
Looking at Philia sitting on her lap, Phia’s maternal instincts were aroused. So she hugged Philia and began to hum a song, and Philia listened quietly in Phia’s arms.
“Good morning.”
Grey came down from upstairs, yawning and greeting everyone, looking like he hadn’t slept well, his dark circles heavier than usual.
“Good morning, Uncle Grey.”
“Forget it, just Uncle. Good morning, Philia.”
Grey sat on the sofa, poured himself a cup of hot water, drank it down in one gulp, took a deep breath, and finally woke up.
“You look very tired.”
Phia looked at Grey with some concern.
“Hmm? I’m alright, it’s just that I play with Philia all day and get dragged away by Nia to work at night.”
“Eh? What does Nia want you for at night?”
Grey looked up, a happy expression on his face. Phia thought they had gotten intimate and blushed.
“No… Could it be adult things?”
“It could indeed be considered adult things.”
“Eh?!”
Phia was shocked. She thought Nia was only outwardly powerful but inwardly very pure, but unexpectedly, she was so proactive.
“Uncle Grey, what are adult things?”
Philia tilted her head and looked at Grey, children always have boundless curiosity.
“It’s work, of course. Like repairing wardrobes, being a clothing model for Nia, testing potions, that sort of thing.”
“Whew, so that’s what adult things are.”
Phia breathed a sigh of relief; she had been prepared to cover Philia’s ears.
“Does Nia still have you test potions?”
“That’s not a big problem; the potions she has me test now are those that promote blood circulation, remove blood stasis, and refresh the mind. If I look like I haven’t slept well, it’s mostly because I’ve been testing potions. Don’t worry, I’ll catch up on sleep after lunch.”
“That’s good. But still, pay attention to your health; don’t spoil Nia too much.”
“Don’t worry, Nia isn’t that kind of bad child.”
Grey smiled, then fell asleep on the sofa, it seemed he really hadn’t slept well last night. Phia shook her head, covered Grey with a blanket, and planned to talk to Nia about this when she came.
Speaking of Nia, Phia remembered the potion she received after dinner last night; she decided to test it on Bal. Phia got up, poured a cup of hot water, added two drops of the potion while Philia wasn’t looking, and then asked Philia to take it to Bal.
“Father, drink some water.”
“Hmm? My little darling is so well-behaved today. Then Father will drink it.”
Bal took the water cup from Philia and drank it down in one gulp, then asked Philia to wait at the dining table to prepare for the meal.
Seeing Philia come out with the empty water cup, Phia felt that her little plan was successful, so she swaggered into the kitchen.
“Bal.”
“Hmm? What’s wrong?”
“Help me put on more butter.”
“No problem!”
Phia wasn’t sure if the potion had taken effect yet; she felt she should try again after dinner.
After breakfast, Bal and Phia went to work as usual.
“Good morning, you two.”
Anda greeted Bal and Phia with a bright smile. It was clear that her date yesterday had gone well.
“Good morning, Anda. Are you leaving early today?”
“Not today.”
“Then you’re so happy, could it be that Randall is coming today?”
“Hmm-hmm~”
Anda narrowed her eyes, took a sip of water, and said no more. Bal and Phia walked into the office, Selena had already started working.
“Hmm? Bal, good timing. I’m going to a meeting at the Council Hall later, you handle these documents.”
“Okay, go quickly, don’t be late.”
“Don’t leave me lunch; I’ll eat at the Council Hall cafeteria.”
“Okay, I understand.”
Selena put several documents in her bag, hugged the bag, and went out. Now only Bal and Phia were left in the office.
Phia sat on the sofa, glanced at Bal, confirmed that he was too busy to pay attention to her, then quickly added two drops of potion to the water. This time, however, she didn’t hand it to him directly; instead, she put it aside, waiting for Bal to get it himself. Bal wasn’t a fool; if she acted proactively like yesterday, Bal would surely notice.
After adding the potion to Bal’s water cup, she poured herself a cup of black tea. The fragrance of the tea leaves instantly filled the office; this was also Phia’s strategyโto make Bal want to drink water.
Bal sniffed the air, then got up and sat next to Phia.
“What are you drinking?”
“Black tea; make your own if you want.”
After Phia finished speaking, Bal picked up the doctored water cup, thought for a moment, then put it down. Just as Phia was wondering if she had been discovered, Bal kissed Phia’s mouth.
“Mmm!”
After their tongues tangled, Bal wiped Phia’s mouth.
“Hmm, it’s really good.”
“Make your own if you want! Lecherous Dog!”
Phia blushed and shouted at Bal. Bal just rubbed Phia’s head, then picked up the doctored water cup, drank the water, and asked Phia for tea leaves.
“Really, here.”
Phia took out a tea canister from the extradimensional space and placed it in front of Bal. On the surface, she was still sulking, but in fact, she was overjoyed inside.
Bal put the tea leaves in the cup, added hot water, and took the tea back to his desk to continue working.
“Dumb Dog, massage my feet.”
Phia started her revenge.
“Okay.”
Bal put down his pen, walked to Phia, gently took off Phia’s boots, placed those white silk-covered feet on his lap, and began to massage them.
“Mmm~ Perfect.”
After enjoying a foot massage, she continued to give orders.
“Massage my waist.”
“Yes.”
Phia lay down on the sofa, and Bal knelt beside her and began to massage her waist.
“You’re really wasting your talent not being a massage therapist, Dumb Dog.”
After massaging her waist, Phia began her real revenge.
“Kneel.”
Bal didn’t say anything and immediately knelt on the floor.
“Bark like a dog.”
Phia took out the record magic stone; she planned to record Bal’s embarrassing moments.
“It seems you’re having a lot of fun.”
“Eh?”
Bal got up, picked Phia up, and before she could react, placed her on the sofa. Bal kissed Phia, greedily sucking the air from her mouth, only ending the kiss when Phia was about to suffocate.
“You… you’re not… umm…”
“I’m not what?”
Bal mischievously pinched Phia. Phia felt an electric current run through her body; she lay on the sofa. Bal looked at the cute cat in front of him and pounced, beginning to devour her.
More than an hour later, Bal held Phia in his arms, pinching her face and continuing the conversation from before the battle.
“Say it, I’m not what?”
“Mmm… Meow…”
“If you don’t say it, let’s continue.”
“I’ll say it! I’ll say it… I added a potion to your cup that was supposed to make you obedient, but for some reason, it didn’t work…”
Bal laughed, holding Phia.
“Don’t forget, I’m a hero. Resistance to interrogation is basic; that kind of potion doesn’t work on me.”
“Mmm… I know.”
“Don’t do that next time.”
“Mmm…”
