Ch 146: The God’s Heart

“Lord Sphia, why is the Radiant God Realm so dark?”

Phia felt somewhat relieved after seeing Sphia’s Main Body. She curiously asked Sphia. Sphia, faced with Phia’s curiosity, appeared somewhat embarrassed.

“Sigh, don’t mention it. After winning the divine war, I brought light to this world, but the people of this world only remembered me for two thousand years and then forgot me. That so-called God’s Country and that Kingdom, one fabricated a new God of Light, and the other used my name for their Royal Capital, causing much of my power to dissipate. Now, my God Realm can barely be maintained.”

Sphia sighed in dejection. She waved her hand, and chairs appeared beside Bal and Phia. Sphia gestured for them to sit down.

“Although it’s somewhat impolite, I still want to ask, are you truly the God of Light, Sphia?”

Bal looked at Sphia before him, feeling that she was different from the Portrait he saw in school, but also feeling somewhat familiar and close to her.

“Your doubts are normal, because my current appearance doesn’t look like a god in the eyes of ordinary people. But I still have Divine Power, you know! Let me see… you have a sister; she is the Beast God’s Vessel…”

“What?! Is there such a thing?”

Sphia seemed completely unaware of what had happened in Bal’s world.

“I only sensed the aura of the Beast God nearby—yes, your sister. I thought the Beast God was here, so I opened a Portal. I didn’t know the Portal would cause this kind of situation.”

Sphia’s wronged expression made Bal believe she wasn’t lying, but since even a god didn’t know what was happening, how could he solve it? Thinking of this, Bal thought of a critical problem.

“Lord Sphia, how do we go back?”

Sphia panicked. She searched her entire body and the entire God Realm, but couldn’t find any trace of her Heart. Sphia sat down on the ground in frustration; she looked lost.

“Lord Sphia? Are you alright?”

Bal stepped forward to check. He waved his hand in front of Sphia’s eyes, but she didn’t react.

“What’s wrong?”

Phia watched Sphia motionless, puzzled.

“She’s not moving; that’s strange.”

Bal said, walking back to his chair. As soon as he sat down, the entire God Realm began to shake, and then a voice echoed throughout the God Realm.

“Hahahaha, foolish God of Light, I told you that you could recover by joining me. Now that your Heart is gone, you won’t live long.”

“Who’s there?!”

Bal raised his Long Sword, ready to strike. Phia also took out her Spear, preparing to unleash Magic. Hearing Bal’s words, the voice spoke again.

“Oh? This is a pleasant surprise. A stagnator and a chosen one in the God of Light’s God Realm. I am the Dark God Mephistopheles, or the Evil God as you humans call me.”

Hearing the words “Evil God,” Bal gripped his Long Sword tightly; its blade emitted a golden Light.

“Did you create the Dimensional Rift?! And what about Lord Sphia’s Heart?!”

“Hahahaha, I did interfere with the Dimensional Rift, but I didn’t steal her Heart. Although I am the Evil God in the eyes of humans, I still have the pride of a god! I am not like humans who break their promises.”

“Then why did you interfere with the Dimensional Rift?”

“Simple. I just wanted to help her retrieve her Heart. I presume my Subordinates have already invaded the human world, hahaha! Hey, where are my Subordinates?”

“Hmph, I killed all your Subordinates. Show yourself, Evil God!”

“You asked for it; don’t be scared!”

After the Evil God finished speaking, a wave of darkness erupted in front of the two, quickly dissipating to reveal a man in black robes.

“…Scary?”

Phia looked at the Black-clothed Man, speechless.

“Watch this!”

The Black-clothed Man removed his hood, revealing not a human face but a mass of Tentacles.

“How about it? Scared?”

“So disgusting.”

“Yeah, so disgusting.”

Phia and Bal calmly described Mephistopheles’ appearance. Mephistopheles, who was called disgusting by the two, seemed somewhat broken.

“You! Impudent! Nightmare entanglement!”

Mephistopheles raised his hand, releasing a black mist toward the two, but the mist dissipated as soon as it reached them.

“That’s it?”

Phia tilted her head, looking at Mephistopheles questioningly. Mephistopheles looked surprised as well.

“What’s going on? Why are my Divine Skills ineffective against you?”

“That’s because I’m protecting them.”

Sphia, protected behind Bal and Phia, spoke. She stood up and walked to Mephistopheles.

“Idiot! I told you not to bully Humans. Did you forget what I said?”

Sphia knocked Mephistopheles on the head. The Tentacles on his head scattered, revealing a human face.

“That hurt! You stinky woman, even without your Heart, you’re so cruel.”

Mephistopheles clutched his head and cursed at Sphia. Sphia merely raised her Fist at him.

“Hmm?”

“…Sorry.”

“That’s more like it.”

Seeing Mephistopheles bow his head, Sphia patted his head. A blush appeared on Mephistopheles’ face.

“You are my other half. You must obey me.”

Hearing this bombshell, Bal and Phia were stunned. Sphia only then realized there were two other people in this Space. She coughed twice and turned to look at them.

“Don’t tell anyone what you just heard.”

Bal and Phia nodded repeatedly. It wasn’t that they didn’t want to talk; Sphia’s fists were already glowing, and they dared not speak, lest they be silenced.

“That’s good. I just retrieved my Memory and found that my Heart seemed to have fallen onto a Grassland, which then transformed into a Maze, and my Heart became the Maze Core. What should we do?”

Hearing this, Bal took the Maze Core from his Magic Bag and handed it to Sphia.

“Is this it?”

Sphia looked at the Maze Core, and she exclaimed in surprise.

“Oh! That’s it!”

Sphia picked up the Maze Core. The Core, originally a Crystal, transformed into a Light Ball in Sphia’s hand. She placed the Light Ball on her chest; it immediately merged into her body. In a short while, the entire God Realm began to emit Light, and the surrounding scenery began to recover from its distorted state.

“Hmm, I feel much better. Thank you. I didn’t expect my Heart to be in your hands.”

“Um… you don’t have to thank us. I deserved it.”

Bal looked dejected. The thought of his Maze Plan being ruined made him regretful. Sphia saw through Bal’s thoughts. She went to the side, casually picked up a Pebble, which immediately glowed and transformed into a Crystal, and gave it to Bal.

“This is a Maze Core I made. Please accept it if you don’t mind.”

“Thank you very much, Lord Sphia! But your power…”

Bal was worried because he heard that Sphia was now weak.

“It’s fine, it’s fine. As long as one person remembers my appearance, I won’t disappear. Okay, I’ll send you back, Phia, Bal.”

After Sphia finished speaking, a White Fissure appeared in front of them. She pushed them into the Fissure, which was the Portal that would send them back to their world.

A flash of White Light, and Bal and Phia returned to the Main Gate of the Town. They looked back; the Fissure had already disappeared. Then Bal took Phia’s hand and walked home.

“Is this really alright?”

Mephistopheles, having shed his Tentacle form, revealed his true appearance: a man with black hair and black eyes, resembling Bal. He looked in the direction of the two departing, questioning Sphia.

Sphia, unlike her previous easygoing demeanor, looked kindly at Bal’s face, projected by her Magic.

“This is enough. It’s not the right time yet.”

“Alright, I’ll listen to you.”

Mephistopheles walked to Sphia’s side and hugged her.

“May your life be without regret and full of Happiness, our Child.”
