Ch 23: I Said Massage My Legs, Not Lick Them!
Two People walked to the Inn marked on the Map. The Inn’s lobby was brightly lit, with many Humans and Demon Race members eating and drinking together. The Two People went to the counter, but they did not see Old Lady Gu’er, whom Anda had mentioned, and they looked around questioningly for her.
“Don’t look, I’m here. You two seem to be new faces. Are you here to stay or eat?”
Seeing the Two People she didn’t recognize seemed to be looking for her, Old Lady Gu’er got up from a place where Guests were gathered, sizing them up while inquiring about their purpose.
Bal and Phia looked at the Woman before them, quite surprised. They had imagined a middle-aged farm woman, but the newcomer was a young and beautiful woman. The horns on her head and her vertical pupils revealed her Demon Race Identity.
“Hello, Gu’er… Miss?”
Bal spoke first, pondering how to address the woman.
“Alright, alright, you’re quite sweet. You can call me whatever you like. Don’t let my young looks fool you; I’m over two hundred years old. You two seem to be new here.”
Gu’er laughed heartily, telling them not to mind her title, then went to the counter.
“Okay, you haven’t answered my question yet. Are you here to stay or eat?”
“Both. We just arrived and have no place to stay. Miss Anda at the Adventurer’s Guild said this place provides accommodations for newcomers, so we came here. Plus, we haven’t had dinner, and we’re starving.”
Phia, sitting on a Chair in front of the counter, explained their intentions to Gu’er.
“Oh~ So you were introduced by little Anda? I understand. Will you be sharing a Room or staying in separate Rooms?”
Gu’er narrowed her eyes at the two, a smile playing on her lips.
“We’ll share a Room. And, if possible, could you get us a Perch for our birds? These two birds are our Companions.”
“Chirp!”
Bal stood behind Phia, his arm around her. Two Fairy Birds perched on Bal’s shoulder; hearing that they could stay with the two, they chirped happily.
“No problem, leave it to me. You two seem to be very close. And these two Fairy Birds look very fond of you; it’s the first time I’ve seen Fairy Birds so attached to people. You must be quite capable. Hey! Alright, just write your names on this Room Deed. This is your Room key. Hot water for showers is available from 8 pm to 10 pm. If you need anything, you can ask me; I’m quite capable, you know.”
“Fairy Birds? Are these two little guys Fairy Birds?”
Bal, holding Phia, wrote their Aliases on the Room Deed. Phia looked up and asked Gu’er.
“Huh? You brought them along without knowing their Identity?”
“Chirp! Chirp Chirp!”
“We found them on the way here. They were hungry and wanted to eat the fish we caught. After we shared our fish with them, they followed us.”
“Chirp~”
Phia explained the Fairy Birds’ origins, and the Fairy Birds responded with cute chirps.
“It’s my first time hearing Fairy Birds chirp. It seems you won’t let me get bored. Finished? Let me see… Miss Fei’er and Mr. Buck, right? Okay, I understand. Do you want me to bring your dinner up or will you come down to eat?”
“We’ll come down ourselves; we won’t trouble you.”
“Mr. Buck is quite polite.”
“Not at all. By the way, the Room fee is…”
Seeing Bal’s troubled expression, Gu’er smiled.
“Don’t worry. You’re newcomers. For the first three months, it’s only one Gold Coin. Since Anda introduced you, you must be Adventurers. I welcome Adventurers who can contribute to the Town. After three months, if you want to stay, it’ll be one Gold Coin a month.”
“Thank you very much! Here’s the Room fee.”
Bal immediately placed a Gold Coin on the counter.
“Thank you for coming!”
Gu’er took the Gold Coin, poured herself a Beer, and watched the two go upstairs while drinking.
“What an interesting pair.”
Bal opened the Room door. The Room was small but had everything it needed: a double bed against the wall, a desk by the window, a small round table in the center of the Room with four Chairs, a coat rack by the door, and a large Cabinet by the bed for Clothes. As Anda had said, the Room was well-equipped with basic necessities.
Phia lay on the bed. After putting the Luggage in the Cabinet, Bal sat beside her. Looking at his adorable Fiancee resting on the bed, he hesitantly stroked her head.
“Mmm… Meow~ What’s wrong? Finally couldn’t contain your desires and decided to make your move?”
Phia raised her head, rubbing against Bal’s large hand, then smirked mischievously.
“Looks like the Kitten doesn’t object. Shall I begin then?”
Seeing Phia teasing him, Bal emboldened himself and hugged her. Looking at the struggling Catgirl in his arms, he pretended to start.
“Wait… wait! We’re not officially married yet; we can’t do this!”
“If you really wanted to refuse, you wouldn’t react like this. You’re looking forward to this, aren’t you? Little~ Cat~ girl~”
Bal mischievously blew on the Catgirl’s ear, and she immediately softened.
“Mmm… ear… breath… can’t…”
Phia’s eyes grew hazy, her ears and cheeks flushed red with shyness, she wriggled in Bal’s arms.
Bal stopped, releasing the Catgirl, and gently kissed her face.
“Okay, I’m not teasing you anymore. Let’s rest and go downstairs for dinner. The two little guys must be hungry too.”
“Chirp!”
The Fairy Birds, having watched the couple’s playful interaction, quickly flew to Bal’s shoulder.
“Hmph… you Bad Thing!”
Phia, flushed, threw a Pillow at Bal. Bal caught it and put it back, then picked Phia up to go out.
“Put me down; I can walk myself.”
“No.”
“You!”
“Oh, you two lovebirds are so affectionate~”
Gu’er saw Bal carrying Phia downstairs in a princess carry and shouted playfully.
“Oh! Young Man, your Wife is so cute!”
“Yeah, yeah, Young Man, you’re lucky!”
Amidst the diners’ teasing, Phia shyly buried her face in Bal’s chest, whispering to him.
“You’re going to pay for this tonight!”
Seeing his Catgirl was extremely shy, Bal started to protect his Wife.
“Go, go, go, you bunch of drunkards, drink your drinks.”
Seeing Bal’s protective stance, the onlookers scattered.
“What would you like to eat?”
One of the instigators of the commotion asked Bal what he wanted to eat, placing the menu in front of them.
After ordering some Food, Bal also asked Gu’er for two fresh raw fish to reward the Fairy Birds.
“Buck, shouldn’t we give them names?”
“Chirp!”
Hearing Phia’s suggestion, the Fairy Bird on her head chirped happily.
“Yeah, we should give them names.”
Bal started thinking about names for the Fairy Birds. After a while, he looked up at the Fairy Birds perched on the table.
“You’re both white; how about Snowdrift for this one and Moony for that one?”
He named the Fairy Bird that frequently perched on Phia’s head Moony, and the one on his shoulder Snowdrift.
After receiving their names, the two Fairy Birds flew around happily.
“Coming, coming, here’s your dinner, and the fresh fish for the Fairy Birds~”
Gu’er approached with a Tray, placing their dinner down and two Beers.
“These two drinks are on me.”
“Thank you!”
Phia thanked Gu’er politely.
After their satisfying meal, the two returned to their Room.
“Hmph, Dumb Dog, you made me look so foolish; you must be prepared for my revenge.”
“Phia, it was a joke, a joke.”
A cold sweat ran down Bal’s face. He knew this little Demon King had a strong vengeful spirit, and he sensed that he would be in for it tonight.
“Dumb Dog, massage my legs.”
Phia took off her shoes and socks, pulling up her skirt to her knees, revealing her white, slender legs and delicate feet.
Bal swallowed. This wasn’t punishment; this was a Reward.
He gently massaged Phia’s legs, relieved to see her comfortable expression. Suddenly, Phia lifted a foot and placed it on Bal’s face.
“Hmph, were you thinking this was a Reward? You foot fetish Hero~ Yah!”
Phia thought this would humiliate Bal, but he unexpectedly licked her foot, catching her off guard.
“Darling, you’re rewarding me.”
Bal looked down at the Catgirl, softly speaking, a mischievous smile on his face.
Furious, Phia vowed to make this perverted Hero pay. She withdrew her foot, getting up to change Clothes. Bal turned his back to her to change as well; his Heart was pounding. His boldness had given him the upper hand, but thinking about Phia’s potential revenge, he decided to be good tonight and not provoke this little Demon King.
After changing Clothes, they lay on the bed, placing a Cushion on the table for Snowdrift and Moony to rest.
“Goodnight, my little Demon King.”
Bal kissed Phia’s forehead.
“Hmph, Goodnight, Dumb Dog.”
Phia nuzzled against Bal’s chest.
The two embraced and slept; their faces relaxed and happy in their sleep.
