Ch 245: There’s A Coffee Out There For Everyone （allergies Aside）

Today is finally the long-awaited Light Moon Festival for the residents of Guangyue Town, and Bal finally finished his busy week. This week, Bal processed the magic pet application and Domestication Certificate for his little gryphon, Xiao Jiu, worked with Archie on the Great Gryphon’s air transport, ran errands for Nia and Cres Orphanage, and of course, dealt with the backlog of Guild matters.

“Ah, I’m dead tired, finally able to rest and relax.”

Bal sat in the office chair in the Guild Office, leaning back, raising his hands above his head and stretching.

“You’ve worked hard, Guild Master.”

Selena brought Bal a cup of nearly black liquid.

“Selena, what is this?”

“Try it.”

Bal picked up the cup and took a sip. The bitterness and a hint of sourness of the liquid jolted him awake from his fatigue.

“Selena, I don’t think I’ve done anything to offend you, have I?”

“What do you mean?”

“If you have any objections, just say it. I know I like to pile up work and often indulge Anda in shirking responsibilities, but you don’t need to punish me with this stuff.”

Bal was close to tears. After hearing Bal’s words, Selena burst into laughter.

“Hahahahaha, you’re killing me!”

“What are you laughing at?”

After Selena finished laughing, she brought some milk and sugar to Bal’s side, then poured the sugar and milk into the black liquid. After stirring, the originally black liquid turned brown, and the smell became more fragrant.

“Try it again.”

“No.”

Bal looked resistant; he was scared by the previous taste.

“Would I harm you?”

“Hard to say. A few times during overtime, I almost died from exhaustion.”

“That’s because you piled up too many things. Okay, take a sip, I guarantee you’ll be satisfied.”

After Selena’s repeated persuasion and assurances, Bal picked up the cup and took a sip.

“So what is this?”

“It’s called coffee. A shop in town recently got some, and I have a good relationship with the shopkeeper, so I bought some to brew myself.”

Selena opened the cabinet where the Office stored tea leaves. She took a can and placed it on Bal’s desk.

Bal opened the lid. The can contained beans with unique colors and shapes. The aroma of the coffee beans was intoxicating to Bal.

“Wow, fragrant, so fragrant.”

Selena closed the lid.

“Don’t even think about getting it from me; I won’t give it to you.”

“As expected of you, you actually predicted my thoughts.”

“Hmph, it’s too easy to understand what you’re thinking, since it’s written all over your face. I’ll tell you where the shop is; go buy it yourself.”

Selena put the can of coffee beans back into the tea leaf cabinet.

“Today is the first day of the Light Moon Festival, and there’s nothing much to do, you can go off work.”

“Hilarious, this is the first time I’ve seen an employee tell their boss they can go home.”

“So you mean you don’t want to rest? Okay, I still have some miscellaneous tasks here. Do you want to finish them?”

“No, no, no, I’m going home right away.”

Bal walked out of the office. In the Guild hall, Anda wasn’t shirking responsibilities.

“Huh? Why aren’t you shirking responsibilities this time?”

“What are you talking about! I’ve been working hard!”

“You look so pretty. Today is the Light Moon Festival, and there’s nothing much to do. Could it be that Randall is coming to have a date with you later?”

Anda blushed when Bal revealed her thoughts.

“Don’t… don’t talk nonsense.”

“Anda, I’m here. Oh! Master Buck is here too!”

As if summoned, Randall’s appearance confirmed Bal’s prediction, making Anda a little embarrassed. Fortunately, Bal wasn’t unreasonable; he gave Anda a day off.

“Enjoy the Light Moon Festival, young people.”

“Who are you calling young? I’m much older than you.”

Anda （seventy-plus years old） put her hands on her hips and glared at Bal. Bal quickly waved his hands.

“Okay, okay, go enjoy the festival.”

“Then we’ll go now.”

Randall took Anda’s hand and walked out. At the door, they waved to Bal.

“Anda went to enjoy the festival too. Speaking of which, where did Ken go? I haven’t seen him lately. Isn’t he close to Selena?”

While Bal was still wondering, the Elf King he was just talking about came to the Guild.

“My friend, haven’t you gotten off work yet?”

“I just got off work. I was just wondering why I haven’t seen you recently. It’s a bit strange. I didn’t expect that I was just thinking about you, and then you appeared.”

“Hahaha, I just have some things to prepare recently. Is Selena still in the office?”

“Yes, she is.”

“Then I’ll go find Selena. Have a happy Light Moon Festival.”

After saying goodbye to Ken, Bal returned home. Nia had been working hard to exterminate monsters recently, and Grey had been following her.

“It’s almost done.”

“Almost done with what?”

Phia patted Bal’s shoulder from behind.

“What’s wrong? Something on your mind?”

Bal hugged Phia and kissed her forehead.

“It’s still Nia’s matter. Have you thought it through?”

“Yes, I promise you.”

“Thank you.”

“We’re a couple, what’s with the thanks. Shouldn’t it be my duty to help you? A wife supporting her husband is a good feeling.”

“As expected of my little cat.”

Bal rubbed Phia’s head and pinched her ears.

“Where’s Philia?”

“She’s upstairs doing her homework. Let’s go out to play with her this afternoon.”

“Okay, let’s take Xiao Jiu too.”

“Okay.”

Because it was the Light Moon Festival, Bal gave Xiaoyue and Xiaoguang a holiday on the grounds of a holiday break. Unless there was something important, they had these three days to themselves. So, starting with lunch today, Bal had to cook his own meals.

“I received a letter at the Guild today.”

Bal said, looking at Phia.

“Hmm? Who wrote it?”

“Kofit.”

“Then I guess our weapons are ready.”

“That’s right, let’s go get our weapons.”

“Okay.”

After speaking, Phia directly used Teleportation Magic to teleport herself and Bal to Kofit’s Blacksmith Shop. Anyway, Kofit had been hanging a “Closed” sign recently, so there was definitely no one there.

Bal shouted towards the workshop but heard Kofit’s roar.

Bal and Phia entered the workshop. Kofit was hammering a weapon. Seeing Bal and Phia arrive, Kofit pointed to a wall where Bal and Phia’s weapons were hanging.

“Get them yourselves, I’m busy.”

“Whose weapon is this?”

“I don’t know. I received a letter a while ago asking me to forge a sword for someone today. They even detailed the forging method. I feel it’s a challenge to me.”

“Then good luck.”

“Hmph, you little brat, I don’t need you to say it.”

Bal and Phia took their weapons and walked towards the door, but they both stopped and turned to Kofit.

“What’s wrong? Did you forget something?”

“No, I just want to say happy Light Moon Festival, Grandpa Kofit.”

Bal and Phia offered Kofit their blessings for this year’s Light Moon Festival.
