Remilia followed Bal and Phia back to the inn where they were staying.

“What are your thoughts?”

Bal sat on the chair and looked at Remilia. She was now being targeted by a Priest, and her actions would be restricted.

“I… I want to kill the Okto Priest.”

Bal pushed chairs together to prepare to lie down and spend the night. Remilia looked at Bal’s actions with some confusion.

“I can’t sleep with you, my wife is still here.”

Bal had just lain down when he stood up again. He put on his cloak and went out. Remilia watched Bal leave, then turned to Phia.

“Don’t you need to follow him?”

“If he really plans to take action, taking down this entire city alone wouldn’t be a problem.”

Bal passed the Clock Tower and arrived at the rooftop of a house near the Great Temple.

Looking at the Guards patrolling around the Great Temple, Bal shook his head.

“So where is Kurodo Prison?”

The two looked towards the source of the sound. It was Bal, wearing a cloak and hood, his eyes shining with dangerous red light.

Bal carried the two over the outer wall of the Great Temple. He carried them to a quiet alley he had scouted out during the day. After tying them up with hemp rope from his magic bag, Bal stuffed cloth strips torn from their clothes into one’s mouth, then woke the other one up.

“Wake up, hey, wake up.”

Bal slapped the Guard’s face. The Guard opened his eyes groggily.

“Who am I? Where am I? Ouch… my head hurts.”

After seeing Bal, the Guard just opened his mouth to call for help when Bal pinched his jaw joint.

“I advise you not to shout, it’s for your own safety. Blink if you understand.”

Bal’s grip on the Guard’s jaw joint was painful, so he quickly blinked. One gold coin in wages, why risk your life?

“Is the security there strong?”

After knocking the Guard unconscious, Bal left the alley alone. He used the cover of night to climb back into his room through the window. Phia was still reading her magic book. She closed the book after seeing Bal climb in through the window.

“Did you get the information?”

“Yeah, let’s leave early tomorrow morning. The children are in the prison in the Western Suburbs.”

“Good.”

Bal went to the chair and lay down. He said to Phia.

“Get some sleep, goodnight.”

“Yeah, I’m going to lie down too, goodnight.”
