Ch 272: If A Witch Interferes, Eliminate The Witch
Phia and Grey watched the inn across from the tavern’s main gate. After waiting for about ten minutes, the guards came out of the inn.
“Can you hear what they’re saying?”
Phia asked Grey, staring at the main gate. Grey shook his head.
“No, there’s magic interference, and there’s a risk of exposure if we eavesdrop again.”
“What weapon will you use?”
“What?”
“What weapon will you use? We might have to fight soon.”
“Why?”
Grey had just asked the question when several guards poured into the tavern’s main gate.
“Everyone, don’t move! We’re searching for spies!”
The guard at the front shouted, ordering everyone in the tavern to stay still. Everyone in the tavern stood in place.
“Daggers, short swords, long swords. I’ll use these three.”
“Okay, put your hands under the table.”
Grey put his hands under the table as Phia instructed. Phia used her magic to conjure a short sword and handed it to Grey. A guard at the entrance saw Grey moving and immediately approached.
“Don’t move, you two! Stand up!”
Grey and Phia exchanged glances; they didn’t move. Seeing that the two were disobedient, the guard drew his long sword and pointed it at them.
“Don’t make me say it again, get up!”
“Sir, don’t be angry. We were just sitting here drinking.”
Grey tried to appease the guard with a forced smile, but the guard was unmoved, insisting that the two get up and come with him. At this time, other guards also surrounded them, their weapons pointed at Grey and Phia.
“Alright, alright, getting up, getting up.”
Grey got up, smiling. The moment he stood, he used the magic short sword Phia had given him to slit the guard’s throat.
“Grab them!”
Someone shouted, and all the guards in the tavern ran towards Grey and Phia.
“Kneel.”
Phia simply said a word, and all the soldiers knelt down due to gravity. She also healed the guard who had fallen to the ground after Grey slit his throat.
“It’s a sorceress!”
“Bullshit! I’m a Magical Girl, at least!”
Seeing this, Grey quickly grabbed Phia’s arm and whispered in her ear.
“Let’s get out of here. Something might have happened in the city. We need to find Bal and Nia and rethink our strategy.”
“Understood.”
Phia turned to look at the guards kneeling on the ground.
“Hmph, this Magical Girl doesn’t have time to waste on you lot.”
“Where are you going?”
“None of your business.”
The kneeling guards could only watch as Grey and Phia left the tavern, only able to stand up with difficulty after being bound by gravity for half an hour.

Let’s rewind time and see what happened inside the Great Temple.
After the priest who was being eavesdropped on by Grey left the God-Emperor, he went to see Freddy.
“Is Freddy in?”
The priest knocked on a room’s door. After a while, a flamboyant woman in revealing clothing opened the door.
“What can I do for you, Okto Priest?”
“The prisoners from Kurodo Prison escaped, and the Holy Knight and Raymond are missing. I suspect Erdos is behind this, and the God-Emperor sent me to you.”
“Hee hee hee, come in.”
As soon as Okto entered the room, Freddy immediately closed the door.
“Do you know you were being eavesdropped on?”
“What?!”
“Relax, this room is protected by a barrier; the person eavesdropping on you can’t hear anything.”
“What’s going on? Can you find the person who was eavesdropping on me?”
“I can, but…”
Freddy looked at Okto meaningfully; she reached out and touched his face.
“The price, you know.”
Okto’s face was full of disgust. He knew that the price was one-tenth of his property and sleeping with Freddy. His disgust stemmed from two points: he was very distressed about losing his property, which he had painstakingly obtained through corruption; and Freddy, while seemingly beautiful, was actually sadistic. Men who slept with her would suffer varying degrees of injury.
“Okto, recall everything you’ve said since returning to the Great Temple, and think about whether you’ve leaked any information.”
Okto’s face turned pale. Although he didn’t know who was eavesdropping on him, what he had told the God-Emperor was already a leak. Even though the person eavesdropping on him was one of the masterminds behind the prison riot.
“Tsk, suit yourself.”
“So straightforward, I love men who are straightforward and easy to control.”
Freddy pinched Okto’s waist, then walked to a table with a crystal ball. As she chanted softly, the entire Holy City was enveloped in a magic interference barrier.
“Okay, the person eavesdropping on you can no longer eavesdrop. I’ve also found their location; go and order them to return immediately.”
Freddy leaned close to Okto’s face, her body pressed against his.
“Don’t run away. I’ll also give you a gift, a gift that will allow you to gain merit in the eyes of the God-Emperor. There is a man and a woman in the Holy City, the man has black hair, and the woman has pink hair. Capture the woman and bring her to the God-Emperor, and you will receive his reward.”
“Why don’t you go capture them?”
“Oh, I’m just a weak woman; I don’t have the strength.”
“Hmph, you’re pretending.”
“I’ll wait for you to come back.”
Okto left Freddy’s room and ordered the guards to go out and arrest the people. However, the guards misunderstood, thinking that Bal and Nia were the spies.
After giving instructions to the guards, Okto returned to Freddy’s room. He had just reached the door when Freddy opened it.
“You’re punctual, come in.”
“Wait, you still haven’t given me an explanation about Erdos.”
Okto stopped Freddy, who was trying to cling to him.
“Hee hee hee hee, I’ll tell you after this is over.”
“Tsk…Sorceress…”
“Ha ha ha ha, even if I am a sorceress, I am a sorceress personally cultivated by your God’s Country.”
Freddy pulled Okto onto the bed; Okto was about to pay the price.

Bal, Nia, and Remilia took two unconscious trackers to a warehouse. Bal didn’t say much, first using a basin of cold water to wake them up.
“Hey, wake up.”
Bal slapped the two people’s faces, and they quickly woke up.
“Damn spies!”
“Hey, hey, hey, I’m not a spy! We’re just ordinary people here for tourism and pilgrimage!”
“Then let us go and let us take you back for proper investigation! Bringing us here doesn’t prove you’re not ordinary people!”
“Wow, you actually have a brain.”
Bal pointed at the two and looked back at Nia and Remilia. Remilia sighed and pulled Bal up.
“Hurry up and question them, don’t interrupt.”
“Understood.”
Bal squatted back down and stuck his short sword into the ground.
“Alright, I’m not kidding around anymore. Why are you following us? Who ordered you?”
“Why should we tell you?”
“Because of this.”
Bal pulled out the short sword from the ground, took out the two people’s weapons and placed them on the ground, then cut their weapons in half like cutting fruit. After the demonstration, Bal added fire magic to the short sword, and the blade immediately turned red. The distortion caused by the high temperature made the bound pair swallow their saliva.
“Speak quickly, I’m short on time. Think about your family, your wages.”
At Bal’s words, one of them immediately broke down.
“It was Okto Priest! He sent us to catch a man with black hair and a woman with pink hair! Don’t kill me, I don’t earn much, I have an eight-year-old mother and an eighty-year-old child, please spare me!”
“Hey! Why did you just say that? And didn’t you get your mother and child’s ages mixed up?”
His companion criticized his previous statement, but seeing that his companion had already spoken, he quickly confessed as well.
“Okto Priest also sent others to pursue another woman with white hair and a man with blond hair, saying that those two were also spies who had placed surveillance magic on him.”
Hearing the description, Bal froze. Only Phia and Grey had this ability. Although Phia’s presence meant they wouldn’t be caught easily, there was still cause for concern. Since Okto had quickly targeted his family, Bal sensed something was amiss.
“Older Brother, we’ve told you everything, please spare our lives.”
“Alright, alright, don’t argue, I’ll keep you two locked up for a day and then release you.”
Bal glanced at Nia, who walked in front of the two and cast a sleep magic (physical) spell on them. The two immediately fell into a baby-like sleep.
“It’s Okto again!”
Remilia clenched her fists, speaking angrily.
“Can you hear me? Hello? Can you hear me?”
Bal spoke into his bracelet, but there was no response.
“Tsk, problems at a critical moment. Nia, let’s go. Let’s infiltrate the Great Temple now, we can’t wait until night.”
“What about Sister-in-law and Grey?”
“They’ll be able to protect themselves, we need to hurry.”
Just as Bal and Nia were about to leave, Remilia stopped them.
“Please take me with you!”
“You?”
“My revenge isn’t over yet, you said you would help me, didn’t you?”
“Alright, then be careful. Come with us.”
“Pleased to meet you, Miss Nia.”
Remilia extended her hand towards Nia, and Nia shook it.
“Remember, don’t speak the language of God’s Country.”
