Ch 34: Warehouse Magic
Bal ran back to the inn. After ordering several dishes Phia loved from Gu’er, he carried the food upstairs. He knocked on the door, but found no one answered. So he put the tray on the floor and went downstairs to look for his room’s window. After locking onto his target, he got up, leaped, and grabbed the window. The catgirl in front of him was very engrossed. He had no choice but to ask Moony to call Phia for him.
After Moony tried many methods, Phia finally focused her attention on herself. Disturbed by Moony, Phia looked up and saw a familiar person looking at her from the window.
“Good noon, my dear Wife.”
Phia quickly got up and made room for Bal. After Bal entered the room through the window, he opened the door and placed the tray on the round table.
“I didn’t expect you to be so engrossed in your research.”
Hearing Bal’s words, Phia blushed.
“S-sorry. I was too engrossed and didn’t hear you.”
“It’s okay, it’s okay. Let’s eat quickly. I specially ordered your favorites.”
Seeing that the table was filled with her favorite food, Phia’s eyes sparkled. The brainpower consumption of the entire morning made her eat even more heartily. Seeing Phia eating happily, Bal also began to eat.
After the meal, Bal took the tray to the kitchen to wash the plates and bowls before returning to his room. By this time, Phia was already sitting back at her desk, analyzing her magic bag. Seeing that he couldn’t help and didn’t want to disturb her, Bal lay on the bed, looking at the cat with a serious expression in front of him. Before long, Bal fell asleep.
Not long after Bal fell asleep, Phia completed all the reverse engineering work on the magic bag’s principle. She was about to show off her intelligence in front of Bal, but when she turned around, she saw Bal sleeping. She smiled, then took a blanket and covered Bal, then burrowed into Bal’s arms, and took a nap with him.
The two of them slept on the bed like that. Bal woke up after sleeping for two hours. As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw silver hair scattered across the right half of his body. He touched the catgirl in his arms; she subconsciously rubbed against his hand. Then he put his arm around Phia’s shoulders and closed his eyes to continue resting.
After more than ten minutes, Bal, with his eyes closed, noticed the movement in his arms. He knew Phia was about to wake up, so he opened his eyes and looked at Phia gently.
The fluffy cat ears twitched, and then the cat paw curled up on Bal’s chest stretched out. The cat leg pushed, and then she opened one eye. She rubbed her unopened eye with her hand, making a “meow” sound from her mouth. Then she sat up, stretched, and lay back in Bal’s arms.
“Awake, Darling.”
Hearing Bal’s voice, Phia rubbed against Bal’s chest, making a cute “meow” sound.
“Meow~ Sleeping in Dumb Dog’s arms is so comfortable meow.”
“You only act like a cat at this time.”
“Like meow?”
“I like you no matter what you look like, Darling.”
“Smooth-talking.”
Stopping their affectionate conversation after waking up, Phia sat up and turned to Bal.
“I have some good news for you. I’ve figured out the principle of this magic bag.”
“Oh? That’s impressive.”
“Isn’t it? Don’t forget who I am.”
As usual, Phia proudly raised her head; her nose and tail were almost pointing to the sky.
“I knew my Wife was the best. So, after figuring out the principle, can you mass-produce magic bags?”
“No.”
“That’s right… Wait, what did you say? No? Why?”
Phia had expected him to ask this, so she calmly began to explain.
“First, the principle of the magic bag is simple, but it’s very difficult to make. It’s possible, but making one would take a lot of time.”
“Then why don’t you just make one and keep it on yourself?”
“That’s my second point: I don’t need to make one at all.”
“Why?”
Looking at Bal’s puzzled face, Phia burst into laughter.
“You’re usually so smart, why are you suddenly acting stupid? I said I’ve already figured out the whole principle. That means I don’t need to imitate this magic bag; I’ve learned a new magic, [Storage Magic].”
“[Storage Magic]?”
“That’s right! From the name, you should know that this is the magic version of the magic bag. I found that the magic bag essentially compresses an other dimensional space into a bag. This other dimensional space only consumes magic power when taking out and storing items. So why don’t I directly use magic to create an extradimensional space first, and then use another magic to connect this dimension and the extradimensional space? Thinking of this, I started experimenting. Finally, I created this magic. It can be used anywhere, and I don’t need to search for items inside. I just need to put a magic mark on the items I want to put into the extradimensional space, and then lock onto this magic mark when I want to take them out.”
“That sounds very complicated.”
“It is. Constructing that other dimensional space is indeed a complicated task, and it also took me a lot of time to write the magic, but after it’s completed, it’s easy to learn and very convenient. Let me demonstrate it for you.”
After Phia finished speaking, she picked up a book and a pen. Then she activated her magic power, and a magic formation appeared on Phia’s hand, swallowing the book and pen. Then Phia got out of bed and walked to the dining table, a magic formation appeared near her, she reached towards the magic formation, and then took out the book and pen from the magic formation. The whole set of movements was smooth and fluid.
Bal was stunned by this scene. This is a magic that can change the world, especially for the transportation industry; this magic is a dimensional strike.
“Teacher Phia, what is the time flow rate of the extradimensional space?”
“Good question! Depending on the magician’s magic power, the size and time flow rate of the created extradimensional space will be different. I used a lot of magic power to create this extradimensional space; the capacity is about the size of a standard warehouse, and the time flow rate inside is one-twentieth of the real world. I don’t think anyone in the world can surpass me.”
Bal was completely stunned by Phia’s magic. He pulled Phia into his arms, kissed her chubby little face, and hugged her tightly.
“Sure enough, having you is my good fortune. But you must promise me that you can’t spread this magic, or that you shouldn’t use this magic in front of outsiders. If you really need to use it, just use a bag to pretend you’re using a magic bag. This magic is too advanced; it’s not suitable to appear in front of people yet. Can you promise me?”
“No problem!”
Phia leaned against Bal, rubbed against him, and then looked at Bal.
“Speaking of which, isn’t it almost time to see Grandpa Kofit?”
“Yes, I visited him today, and he said we can go get the weapons tomorrow morning.”
“Yay!”

The scene shifts to the Ferenti Kingdom.
The Kingdom’s Chancellor received a report from Temur City. He glanced at it, then dismissed the people around him, leaving only one aide.
“Bal is dead, and Udel has defected. What do you think?”
The aide, questioned by the Chancellor, calmly replied.
“Send a clean-up squad to find Udel’s whereabouts. This man knows too much. Now that he’s missing, if he runs to another country, it won’t be good. We must capture him, ask him if he leaked any secrets, and then eliminate him.”
“Yes, I’ll do it right away.”
The aide left the Chancellor’s room and slowly walked towards the clean-up squad’s quarters. In the room, the Chancellor muttered to himself.
“I never thought Udel could kill Bal, but the Commander of the Dragon Knight Corps still used that power. What a pity. Now we’re short a trump card. What if another Bal appears next time?”
Soon, the borders of the Ferenti Kingdom were put on high alert, and everyone entering and leaving was subjected to strict questioning and investigation. At the victory banquet, the King acknowledged Bal’s merits in exterminating the Demon King, and also expressed his regret for Bal’s “sacrifice for the country.”

The perspective shifts again to a mysterious pink-haired woman.
“Humph, a bunch of good-for-nothings. Bal couldn’t have died so easily. Bal, wait for me; I’ll be right there.”
The pink-haired hooded woman rode her horse, continuing towards Guangyue Town, the border town where Bal was located.
For Bal, a new surprise is about to arrive.
