Ch 371: Turns Out Eating Here Is A Real Workout!
Hearing Bal agree to dine there, Elder Turner immediately went out to instruct the Cyclops to prepare food, Phia whispering in Bal’s ear.
“Aren’t you afraid they’ll give you strange things to eat?”
“They shouldn’t. They’ve interacted with Humans before; they should know what Humans eat.”
“I still feel it’s a bit unreliable.”
“Don’t worry, if all else fails, we’ll just build a fire and cook our own food.”
“Alright.”
Phia walked to the side; she was looking at the scenery of this underground Tribe.
“Human friends, I heard from Zigressa that you want to go to the Wyvern’s Territory?”
Elder Turner came in from outside; he asked Bal, who nodded.
“Zigressa said the Elder here knows how to get to the Wyvern’s Territory.”
“I have a question. I want to know why you want to go to the Flying Dragon Territory.”
“That’s a long story.”
Bal told Elder Turner about the weather mutation and encountering the Small Wyvern. Elder Turner pondered for a while after listening.
“So that’s how it is. I understand your intentions. I’ll take you there after you’ve eaten.”
“Great, thank you, Elder Turner.”
“Hahaha, it’s only right to help Human friends, after all, Human friends have also helped us a lot.”
“What did the Humans who came here before do?”
“Well…”
Turner glanced outside the door.
“Human friends taught us the language to communicate, brought us Food, and taught us how to raise animals and grow Food. They even used precious Grain to exchange for those Stones we didn’t use.”
“Stones?”
Hearing Bal’s question about the Stones, Elder Turner took out a large Ore from a bag.
“This is it. At that time, these Stones occupied our living Space. The Stones accumulated as we developed our homes until the Human friends arrived. They said these Stones were useful to them, and they exchanged Grain for these Stones with us.”
Listening to Turner’s explanation, everyone gathered around the Stone. Bal glanced at Phia.
“Is it this Ore?”
Phia reached out and used Magic to analyze the composition of the Stone. After a while, she nodded.
“It is this Ore. My Armor is made from this Ore.”
Bal looked towards Elder Turner.
“Elder Turner, we don’t have anything to exchange. Could we have a few of these Stones?”
“No problem, you can have as many as you want. We still have a lot of these Stones; feel free to take them.”
“Great, thank you, Elder Turner.”
“Hahaha, you’re welcome. Helping friends is only right.”
Yselle touched the Stone, then walked in front of Elder Turner.
“Elder Turner, don’t you know the use of this Stone?”
“Use? What’s the use of this Stone?”
“This is called Ore. Technology can be used to extract the Metal inside to make Weapons and Equipment or some Tools.”
“This is called Ore?”
Turner’s question stunned everyone. Turner took out his Hand Axe, a Weapon every Cyclops had. Though called a Hand Axe, it was oversized for Humans.
“The Stone used to make this Hand Axe is called Ore. The Stone before you has too many impurities; refining it is too complex. It’s useless to us.”
“Then, could you please show us the Ore you use?”
Nia poked her head out from behind Bal. Since the Ore that could make Demon King Armor wasn’t considered a good thing by the Giants, what kind of rare treasures were the Ores they usually used?
“Bal, don’t you feel that Hand Axe is a bit like our Weapons?”
While Nia and Elder Turner were talking, Phia quietly tugged Bal’s clothes and asked him. Bal nodded.
“It does look similar. Black iron is too brittle and can’t withstand the Giants’ use. Other Metals aren’t that black. It should be the same Material as the Weapons we use.”
“I feel we shouldn’t provoke these Giants.”
“I agree.”
After their whispered conversation, Turner also agreed to Nia’s request to see the Ore the Giants used. He put everyone in a stone basket and led them towards a Place used for metallurgy.
“Tuhnaer, get a piece of Ore to show the Human friends.”
“Alright!”
The Giant called by Turner picked up a huge black Ore with a metallic luster and came before everyone. Bal immediately recognized it as the raw Ore of Orichalcum of Enchantment.
“Wow, it’s really Orichalcum of Enchantment. No wonder they don’t think much of Caesarite.”
After seeing the Ore the Giants used, Elder Turner led everyone back to his Residence.
“Friends, do you have any other requests?”
“No, no. We just want to ask where the Ore you use comes from.”
“Hahaha, these Ores are by-products of the lower mine.”
“By-products?”
“Yes, although we Cyclops can also eat Human Food, at the beginning, Human Food couldn’t fill our stomachs. Our original Food was Jewels. The energy contained in high-quality Jewels can allow us to survive for a long time. Although we now eat Human friends’ Food, the energy of Jewels is still indispensable to us. We developed the mine to mine Jewels.”
“So that’s how it is. Um, our lunch shouldn’t have Jewels, right?”
“Don’t worry, we know Human friends can’t eat Jewels, so we won’t serve them to you.”
“That’s good.”
After a while, Zigressa, who had led everyone here earlier, entered Turner’s Residence.
“Elder, the Human friends’ lunch is ready.”
“Good!”
Elder Turner looked at everyone.
“Human friends, please follow Zigressa to dine.”
“Okay, we understand. Thank you, Zigressa.”
“Oh, don’t be so polite.”
Zigressa led everyone to an open-air area, filled with Giants who came to visit Bal and others. On a huge stone table was a huge roasted pig and other extremely large portions of Food.
“Whoa, it’s so big!”
Seeing the Food that was almost as tall as themselves, they felt like they were the ones on the menu. Elder Turner followed behind Zigressa. After Zigressa settled everyone at the table, Turner instructed a Giant to get Cutlery for Humans.
“Some simple Food, please forgive us.”
“Elder Turner is being too polite. This Food would be considered a luxurious banquet in our place.”
“Huh? So things have changed so much outside? Oh well, let’s talk about it when we go to the Wyvern’s Territory this afternoon. Let’s eat, let’s eat.”
“Then we won’t be polite.”
Bal’s group received Human-sized Cutlery from a Giant. However, this lunch was quite strenuous. Everyone was sweating profusely after finishing.
“Fu…full. For the first time, I felt that eating was labor, burp.”
Nia leaned on Grey. Grey, having almost finished eating, sat there drinking a kind of Juice the Giants drank. Everyone was satisfied, although it was quite strenuous.
“Friends, did you enjoy the meal?”
“Yes, it tasted good. Thank you.”
“Hahaha, you’re welcome. Then I’ll take the friends to rest. After resting, we’ll set off.”
“Okay, thank you, Elder Turner.”
