Rest is complete, it’s time to continue our journey. This commission’s target is quite far; without a quick travel method, it will take us about a day and a half to travel there on foot.

Along the way, we chatted and laughed, and Levi was fantasizing about his future after his squad was promoted to A-rank.

“If our squad is successfully promoted to A-rank, we can take on those lucrative commissions. I’ve been wanting to buy some things lately; I’m so looking forward to it.”

“Oh? Levi, what do you want to buy this time?”

Zaranal looked at Levi with a gossipy expression, and Levi actually blushed!

“Oh my, oh my, Levi, you blushed. Could it be related to Akxiya?”

“What…what are you talking about! Zaranal.”

I blushed a little. I was about to have Levi refute it, but unexpectedly, Levi’s face turned even redder.

“N-no…no way…”

Levi looked at me, stammering.

“That…Akxiya…I have something I want to discuss with you…”

I knew what he was going to say. I had never considered this matter before because adventurers live a life on the edge; one might be fine today, but dead tomorrow.

“I…I’m willing…”

I didn’t wait for Levi to continue, I immediately agreed to his request.

“Really!?”

His eyes started to shine, further confirming my thoughts!

“Yes.”

“Yay!”

Levi directly hugged me; he seemed very excited.

“Le…Levi…it’s a little tight…”

Levi was still wearing his armor. He hugged me directly, making me feel a little uncomfortable. After I made a sound of discomfort, he finally let go.

“Sorry, Akxiya.”

“Phew, I’m alive…”

I patted Levi’s shoulder a few times, and he just smiled.

“Oh, I thought you wouldn’t agree.”

“What are you talking about? Of course I’m willing to marry you.”

“Huh? I meant cohabitating.”

“Huh? Wasn’t it marriage?”

He was a little embarrassed but still explained.

“I think it’s better to live together first. Marriage is a bit too early. I just saw a nice house; let’s live together!”

“Okay, but why are you blushing?”

“It’s my first time cohabitating with a girl.”

“So that’s it. I didn’t expect Levi to be so innocent.”

Zaranal came closer, smiling mischievously at the two of us.

“Go, go, go. What’s it to you?”

Levi flicked Zaranal’s forehead, and Zaranal covered her forehead and hid behind me.

“Akxiya, control your husband. He’s too violent! He actually hit a girl!”

“Wh…what husband…we’re not married yet!”

I anxiously refuted Zaranal’s words, but she didn’t care.

“You’re going to live together with Levi; it’s no different from marriage.”

“There’s a difference, okay!”

“Humph, I won’t disturb you newlyweds. I’m off.”

Zaranal walked away, then went to bother Hien.

“Oh, when will my destined prince appear?”

We didn’t encounter any trouble throughout the noon and afternoon. It’s strange. There were so many monsters in the morning; why is there no sign of them in the afternoon?

Because the journey is long, we made preparations to camp out in the wild.

“Kodov, help me set up the frame.”

Levi placed the tent frame beside Kodov. Kodov nodded, placed his large shield against a tree, and then started assembling the tent frame.

“Hien, isn’t it troublesome to stay in the tree all the time?”

Zaranal stood under a tree and looked up at Hien above. Hien wasn’t on guard; it was just a habit of his; he liked to stand high up and watch the sunset.

“…Get me my water bottle.”

“Got it!”

Zaranal walked to where Hien had placed his luggage, picked up his water bottle, and returned to the tree.

“Hien, catch.”

Zaranal directly threw the water bottle up, and Hien hooked the water bottle’s strap with his sheathed dagger.

“Hey, Hien, you still haven’t told me if you’re not tired of sitting in the tree?”

“Habit.”

“So cold. Forget it, time to cook!”

Zaranal returned to the area between me and Levi. After adding magically created water to the pot, she began to boil the water.

“Zaranal, why do you want a boyfriend so badly?”

I walked over and sat beside Zaranal, and then asked her. She just smiled.

“It’s because I want one.”

“Such a perfunctory answer.”

“Do you want to know the real answer?”

I nodded, staring straight at Zaranal.

“Not yet. I’ll tell you before we go to sleep tonight.”

“Okay.”

After dinner, everyone helped set up the tents. I took out the monster-repelling magic item and placed it around our campsite. This magic item cost us a lot of money; hopefully, it’s effective.

The weather is good tonight; the moonlight is plentiful, and the stars are very bright. I followed the footprints in the mud to Zaranal’s side.

“The weather is nice tonight, don’t you think, Akxiya?”

Zaranal, unlike her usual cheerful and optimistic self, now has more sadness on her face.

“Yeah.”

“Want to know why I’m so eager to find a boyfriend?”

I nodded without speaking.

“I don’t have much time left.”

“Huh?”

Zaranal looked up at the starry sky. Just then, a cloud covered the moon, making it impossible for me to see Zaranal’s expression clearly.

“A while ago, I wasn’t feeling well, so I went to a clinic. Guess what the doctor said? He said I have an incurable disease that will slowly drain my life force. He said I only have one month left. I want to find a boyfriend and have a passionate love affair in the last month of my life. That way, I’ll have no regrets in my life.”

After Zaranal finished speaking, the cloud drifted away, and the moonlight shone on Zaranal’s face again. I could see two tear tracks on her face. I didn’t know how to comfort her, so I just hugged her.

“Hey, Akxiya.”

“What’s wrong?”

“I envy you.”

“Seriously, you’re still saying this now?”

“Don’t tell everyone about my condition. I don’t want them to be sad.”

“I promise you.”

“That’s great. You’re my best friend. If only I could borrow your husband.”

“Zaranal, even if you’re seriously ill, you can’t do that.”

“Hehe, you didn’t fall for it.”

“Hmph, okay, let’s go to sleep.”

“Yeah.”

I stood up, reached out, took Zaranal’s hand, and pulled her up. The two of us walked toward the tent. I guess I’m going to have insomnia tonight.
