Ch 504: A Prophecy From The Goddess Of Fate

Bal heard the explosion and rushed out of the study. Ignoring the height of the floor, he jumped directly from the corridor down to the backyard. Although there were no scorch marks, there was some heat remaining that was inconsistent with the season. Bal anxiously searched for Philia and Xiao Jiu, and soon he saw them near the target.

“Philia, Xiao Jiu, are you alright!”

Bal rushed over and hugged them. Philia tilted her head, unsure why Bal was reacting so strongly.

“Philia and Xiao Jiu are fine, Father, what’s wrong with you?”

“It’s alright, it’s alright.”

Bal looked up. There were some marks on the target behind Philia. He thought of Xiao Jiu.

“Did Xiao Jiu cause that explosion?”

Bal picked up Xiao Jiu and looked into its eyes. Xiao Jiu tilted its head, looking innocent. Bal glanced at Philia.

“Yes, Philia was just teaching Xiao Jiu magic, and Xiao Jiu is surprisingly powerful.”

Philia answered while stroking Xiao Jiu’s head. Xiao Jiu seemed to enjoy it, opening its mouth as if smiling. Hearing Philia’s explanation, Bal finally relaxed. He put Xiao Jiu down.

“It’s alright, it’s alright.”

“I’m sorry, I worried Father.”

“It’s okay, maybe I’ve been too sensitive lately.”

Bal stood up, took Philia’s hand, and returned to the house. Philia sat on the sofa with Xiao Jiu, and the father and daughter enjoyed afternoon tea.

“Next time, we should have Mother set up a soundproof barrier when you practice.”

“Um, Philia will be more careful next time.”

“It’s okay.”

After finishing their tea, Bal ruffled Philia’s head. Her horns had grown considerably; the dragon horns had broken through her hair and become noticeable.

“I’ll go back and tell Mother that we’re safe. You two continue playing, and don’t get hurt.”

Bal finished his pine needle tea and returned to the study. Phia and Nia were still resting on the sofa in the study. Seeing Bal return, Phia turned to him.

“What happened just now?”

“Philia was teaching Xiao Jiu magic. Xiao Jiu has a lot of magic, and she must have used too much force. Nothing serious.”

“That’s good. Seeing you jump out like that, I almost followed, but thankfully Nia stopped me.”

“Don’t mention it. Older Brother acting impulsively is one thing, but Sister-in-law can’t be impulsive!”

Nia lay on the sofa, her lazy appearance reminding Bal of the girl who hadn’t yet undergone Beast God Possession. He walked to Nia and pinched her cheek.

“You, if you keep lying down like this, you’ll get fat.”

“Humph, you always say I’m fat. When have I ever actually gotten fat? Really.”

Nia hit Bal’s leg with her tail. After a while, the two returned to the secret chamber.

“The analysis should be complete. Let’s go back and take a look.”

“Mm-hmm, be careful, stay safe.”

Bal left the study. He glanced at Philia, who was still playing with Xiao Jiu in the backyard, and a feeling of loneliness washed over him.

“Let’s go for a walk.”

Bal went downstairs. Xiaoyue was holding Hiel and feeding him milk.

“Master?”

“It’s nothing, I just want to go for a walk.”

“Okay.”

Bal walked out into the street. He looked up at the clear blue sky; the sun was still bright.

“Since I’m immortal, what about Nia, Philia, and Hiel……”

Bal started to overthink again. He wasn’t afraid of loneliness, but he was afraid of separation. Parting from his friends always made him feel bad. He thought about this the whole way, completely unaware that he had already walked to a place that wasn’t Guangyue Town.

“Bal, what are you thinking about?”

Hearing a familiar voice, Bal looked up. He realized he wasn’t in Guangyue Town but in another familiar place—Sphia the Goddess of Light’s God Realm. Sphia was waving to him from a pavilion in her God Realm.

“Mom? Did you bring me here?”

“Yes, I wanted to see what my son was doing. You look worried. What’s wrong? Can you tell me?”

“I’m thinking… I’ll eventually be separated from my family, and I’m starting to worry about the future.”

“So you’re afraid of the lifespan issue.”

Sphia smiled and snapped her fingers. In an instant, they were in another unfamiliar place, where a woman was sitting by a loom, examining threads.

“Why did you bring me here?”

“A reassurance. My dear son can’t be frowning all day. I want him to be the optimistic and cheerful child he used to be.”

“What do you mean?”

“Just follow me.”

Sphia pulled Bal towards the woman examining the threads on the loom. Bal felt that the woman looked familiar, but he couldn’t remember who she was.

“Noren, I’ve brought him here.”

Sphia greeted the woman. Hearing Sphia call her Noren, Bal remembered something.

“Is… is this Noren, the Goddess of Fate?”

Noren nodded. Two chairs suddenly appeared beside her, and then she gestured for them to sit down. Sphia pulled Bal onto a chair. Once they were seated, Noren finally spoke.

“What do you need this time?”

“Nothing important. I just want to show this child how far his family will accompany him.”

Sphia laughed triumphantly; she didn’t seem to worry about Noren giving bad news at all. Noren thought for a moment and pulled out some threads to examine.

“First, the winged woman. She already has an endless lifespan. The Black Disaster brought her and you all together. You’ll have a long journey together.”

“Is that Yselle?”

Noren didn’t answer Bal’s question. She continued recounting everyone’s future fates.

“The woman who united with the Elf King… they won’t live as long as you, but they’ll also live fulfilling lives.”

“Selena and Ken…”

“The last Dragonkin woman will accompany you forever.”

“That’s good, Philia won’t leave before us.”

“The woman favored by the Beast God and the Overseer. The Beast God won’t abandon that man, and likewise, the Overseer loved by that man will accompany her to the end of the world.”

“Phew, Nia and Grey can go that far too.”

Bal felt much more reassured.

“Those criminal sisters… they have about 300 years left.”

Bal was finally relieved. He didn’t need to worry about Hiel, because Hiel was his child with Phia, and his future was bound to be bright. But remembering Noren’s mention of the end of the world regarding Nia and Grey made him uneasy.

“Goddess Noren, what is the end of the world?”

“It cannot be spoken of. But when that day comes, the world will collapse.”

“It should still be a long time, right?”

Bal stared at Noren. Noren didn’t reply for a long time. Then, Sphia intervened.

“Alright, alright, Bal. Just be glad your family is alright. You’ll only remember this as a dream. You should go back now.”

Sphia flicked Bal’s forehead, and before he could react, he disappeared from Noren’s God Realm.

“Noren, you let it slip.”

“Sorry.”
