Ch 22: Apologizing in Person

When Gu Qingyin entered, Huo Xingye’s expression was already flawless. He sat calmly behind his desk and looked at her, “Weren’t you supposed to have dinner with an old friend? Why are you back so early?”

Gu Qingyin sighed. “It wasn’t anyone important. Just seeing them once was enough.”

She sniffed and asked, “Did you eat properly today?”

“Of course.” Huo Xingye said with a smile, “I’ve made it a habit these past few days.”

Gu Qingyin narrowed her eyes. “Really?”

Huo Xingye paused, then confessed helplessly, “Okay, it was just a little late.”

Gu Qingyin snorted softly, not pressing the issue. As long as he ate.

Huo Xingye breathed a sigh of relief.

Just then, Gu Qingyin suddenly asked, “Who is Miss Wen?”

Huo Xingye was silent.

“That friend living in your house?” Gu Qingyin pressed on. “Is she your girlfriend or a mistress you’re keeping? Are you breaking up now?”

Huo Xingye smiled wryly. How could he dare?

Chen Ming couldn’t hide his shock when he heard this, and Wen Ting was even more so.
