Ch 5: A Dramatic Soap Opera

The three of them arrived together outside Xu Juanjuan’s room, and the door opened automatically.

Inside, a middle-aged woman wearing a cheongsam lay quietly on the bed, as if asleep, while a young girl sitting beside the bed held her hand tightly.

“Wife!” Old Xu was shocked and tried to walk past Gu Qingyin to get to her.

“Don’t come over!” The girl by the bed suddenly spoke.

Old Xu froze in place. The voice sounded familiar, but it was definitely not his daughter’s. His expression changed drastically. That ghost had completely taken over Juanjuan’s body!

Qin Zhen also reacted and anxiously called out, “Master Gu!”

Gu Qingyin stepped forward, her eyes calmly watching Xu Juanjuan.

“You’re a Taoist Master?” Xu Juanjuan’s expression was wary, with a hint of disdain. She had seen so many Taoist Masters these past few days that she couldn’t count them all on one hand, and not a single one of them was effective.

Gu Qingyin silently sized her up, finally focusing her gaze on her abdomen. A look of realization dawned on her. No wonder this ghost was so difficult to subdue; there weren’t one, but two.

Xu Juanjuan subconsciously covered her stomach, looking fierce. “What are you looking at!”

Gu Qingyin tugged at her lips, adopting a negotiating stance. “State your demands.”

Xu Juanjuan was taken aback for a moment, then looked at Old Xu and said bluntly, “I want to marry him.” This was her obsession as a ghost. If this Taoist Master couldn’t help her achieve it, she would do it herself.

Gu Qingyin blinked, turning her head suspiciously to look at Old Xu, who was sweating profusely. “An acquaintance ghost, huh? No wonder she’s not targeting anyone else, only your daughter.”

Qin Zhen was also surprised, but then a look of understanding appeared in his eyes, and his expression became complicated.

“The child in her belly is yours?” Gu Qingyin guessed reasonably.

Now that things had come to this, there was no point in denying it. Old Xu nodded with a wry smile. “It’s mine.”

Gu Qingyin asked again, “Did you kill her?”

“I didn’t!” Old Xu retorted loudly. “She died in an accident!”

“Scumbag! Bastard! I lost my innocence, I lost my future, why should you still have a happy and fulfilling family, as if nothing ever happened? You think you can get rid of me with money? Dream on!”

Old Xu also got angry and roared, “If I hadn’t seen that you were sensible back then, do you think you could have climbed into my bed? I gave you a car and a house these past few years, but you were never satisfied, and you even fantasized about being Madam Xu! Take a good look at yourself, what are you worth? Are you worthy?”

Xu Juanjuan was probably enraged, letting out a sharp scream, releasing Madam Xu’s hand, and charging towards Old Xu. Her momentum was fierce, but as soon as she got close, she was bounced back by a golden light.

Old Xu smirked, pulling out a jade Guanyin from his collar, and holding an amulet in his other hand, taunting, “Come on if you’re not afraid of death!”

Xu Juanjuan looked like she was going to die together with Old Xu, charging up again regardless.

Qin Zhen was very anxious watching from the side, shouting, “Old Xu, dodge! That’s Juanjuan’s body!”

Gu Qingyin took the opportunity to bypass them, walked to the bedside, first used a Yin Gathering Talisman to absorb the Yin energy from Madam Xu’s body, then used a Soul Stabilizing Talisman to stabilize her three souls and seven spirits, and finally stuffed an amulet into her hand.

By the time Xu Juanjuan woke up from her rage after being knocked back, she realized that the hostage she had just obtained was gone.

Gu Qingyin smiled. “Now it’s time to solve your problem. A coldness flashed between Gu Qingyin’s brows. “Courting death.”

She slapped the baby ghost away, and with a “bang,” the baby ghost exploded directly, turning into pure Yin energy that dissipated in all directions.

“Ah! My child!” Xu Juanjuan screamed wildly, her eyes bloodshot as she lunged at Gu Qingyin. “I’m going to fight you to the death!”

Gu Qingyin took out a seal from her satchel and pressed it down on Xu Juanjuan’s forehead.

The next second, Xu Juanjuan’s body shook, and a blurry shadow was shaken out of her body. It was the female ghost who had possessed her.

Gu Qingyin took out a bottle from her satchel again, pointed the mouth of the bottle at the female ghost, and the female ghost screamed instantly, spinning as she was sucked into the bottle. Then, a Yellow Talisman sealed the opening, and the bottle was casually put back into the satchel.

“Carry her onto the bed.” Gu Qingyin pointed to Xu Juanjuan, who had fallen to the ground.

Old Xu snapped back to his senses and was about to step forward, but Qin Zhen took the lead and picked up Xu Juanjuan, carefully placing her on the bed.

Not to mention Gu Qingyin, even Old Xu was a little stunned.

Gu Qingyin blinked, her gossipy heart stirring, but the timing wasn’t right, she had to save the person first.

She walked to the bedside, looked down at Xu Juanjuan, and sighed regretfully.

“What’s wrong? Is Juanjuan’s condition very bad?” Qin Zhen asked nervously.

Just that simple?
