Ch 7: Not of the Huo Family
Huo Xingye was equally surprised, but he quickly reacted—Gu Qingyin had come to perform Exorcism.
Immediately, his face darkened, and anger flashed in his eyes.
Gu Qingyin was moving so fast that she thought she was seeing things, after thinking for a few seconds, she determined that she must have been mistaken.
I’m out here making money, what right does he have to be angry? Not a single word for three days straight, and he still dares to be angry!
After a few seconds of silence, Xu Shaocheng bent down to pick up the car keys, lowered his eyes, and stepped aside from the doorway, saying in a low voice, “Taoist Priest Liu, please come in.”
Huo Xingye also stepped aside, and a middle-aged man wearing a bright yellow Taoist robe and a bun walked in, it was Taoist Priest Liu.
Taoist Priest Liu was holding a compass in his hand and carrying a long cloth bag on his back. As soon as he entered the door, he turned around once, and finally stood where the female ghost had dissipated. “The Yin Energy is extremely heavy here.” He looked at the compass again and made a sound of surprise, “The Yin Energy has faded.”
“The ghost ran away?” Taoist Priest Liu frowned. “That shouldn’t be, the compass is pointing right here.”
“Is it possible that the ghost is already dead, and the Yin Energy is slowly dissipating?”
Taoist Priest Liu suddenly understood upon hearing this. “That’s right, that must be it.” He looked up in the direction of the voice, and when his eyes met Gu Qingyin, his pupils contracted, and he exclaimed in shock, “Qingyin?!”
Gu Qingyin raised her eyebrows in confusion.
Huo Xingye narrowed his eyes and stared at Taoist Priest Liu’s back.
The Xu family of three and Qin Zhen were also attracted by the attention.
“Taoist Priest Liu and Master Gu know each other?” Old Xu forced a polite smile.
The shock of what had just happened was too great, he had forgotten about inviting Taoist Priest Liu. Now that the person had arrived, but the ghost was gone, he was afraid that Taoist Priest Liu would have a problem with him. It would be easier if the two knew each other.
Taoist Priest Liu came back to his senses, carefully looked at Gu Qingyin, and hesitantly shook his head. “I must have recognized the wrong person, the one I know should be over forty years old this year.” Although the person in front of him looked very similar, she was too young.
“Liu Ergou?”
Taoist Priest Liu’s whole body shook, his eyes widened. “It really is you?!”
Gu Qingyin smiled from the bottom of her heart. “It’s me.”
She was happy, but also felt emotional. Twenty years had passed, and sure enough, things were different, and the changes were too great. She felt that she needed to organize an old friends’ reunion, otherwise, she wouldn’t recognize her old friends if she met them on the street one day.
“How are you the same as you were twenty years ago? You haven’t changed at all!” Taoist Priest Liu excitedly took a few steps forward. “Where have you been for the past twenty years? Why haven’t we heard from you at all? We looked for you for several years!”
Gu Qingyin waved her hand. “Let’s talk about that later.” She looked at Old Xu. “The ghost is gone, the little girl will wake up tomorrow, shouldn’t the Affinity Fee be settled?”
The work was done, the gossip was heard, it was time to take the money and leave.
Old Xu was a little dazed, he said “oh, oh” twice before taking out his checkbook. While writing, he was still thinking, who would have thought that Taoist Priest Liu, who seemed like a transcendent master, would have such a down-to-earth name! Truly, you can’t judge a book by its cover!
Gu Qingyin smilingly took the check. “Then we’ll meet again if fate allows, no need to see me off.”
Old Xu smiled wryly, he hoped he would never see her again in his life.
Gu Qingyin slowly walked out, Taoist Priest Liu wanted to follow without thinking, but Huo Xingye cut in and squeezed him to the back.
Taoist Priest Liu cursed in his heart, and after steadying himself, quickly followed.
Before long, only the Xu family and Qin Zhen were left in the room, the atmosphere was so oppressive that it was suffocating.
Qin Zhen couldn’t take it anymore, he wanted to leave, but the matter hadn’t been resolved.
“Let’s get divorced.” Madam Xu said in a faint voice, “We’ve already reached this point, living together in the future will only be mutual torture, let’s let each other go.”
Because of the previous interruption, Madam Xu had regained her senses from the brink of madness, and quickly entered the “whatever, I’m tired” stage, now she just wanted to get rid of this mess and start over.
Old Xu subconsciously wanted to keep her, but when he saw Qin Zhen out of the corner of his eye, he couldn’t utter a single word.
“Let’s divorce.” Xu Shaocheng’s voice was hoarse. “We should have divorced long ago.”
Old Xu was stunned when he heard this, and then sighed in despair.
Qin Zhen looked left and right, wanting to say something but shrinking back, he really wasn’t in a good position, he had no right to speak at all.
After leaving the villa, Taoist Priest Liu finally found a chance to bypass Huo Xingye, stood in front of Gu Qingyin, and took out his phone. “Let’s add each other as friends, it’ll be easier to contact each other later, I have something to do later.”
Gu Qingyin readily took out her phone and showed her QR code.
While scanning, Taoist Priest Liu asked, “Do you need to keep your return a secret?”
“No, there’s no need.” Gu Qingyin only remembered to ask after saying that, “Is that idiot Dongfang Ran still alive?”
Taoist Priest Liu nodded. “Not only is she alive, but she has also become an Elder of the Mystical Arts Association.”
Gu Qingyin raised her eyebrows and sneered. “That’s all she’s ever wanted.”
Taoist Priest Liu put away his phone, stared at Gu Qingyin, his eyes full of melancholy. “You left without saying goodbye back then, I didn’t expect to see you again after twenty years, if I had known…”
“Mom, let’s go home.”
Huo Xingye stood by the car and suddenly spoke.
Hearing this, Taoist Priest Liu froze.
Gu Qingyin turned her head back in surprise and said “En!” very enthusiastically. “Coming!”
Taoist Priest Liu was heartbroken! Taoist Priest Liu couldn’t accept it!
“Where did you get such a big son? You haven’t been out of the mountains for twenty years, could it be that you secretly got married and had children?!” Taoist Priest Liu asked with the last shred of hope, “Is he your godson?”
Huo Xingye walked over, put Gu Qingyin behind him, and provocatively curled his lips. “I am Gu Qingyin’s biological son, carried for ten months.”
Gu Qingyin poked her head out from behind Huo Xingye and nodded with a smile. “Xingye is the eldest of the triplets, when my other two sons come back another day, I’ll introduce you to them, you can prepare a meeting gift in advance.”
Taoist Priest Liu was dazed when he left.
His first love when he was young had already married and had children twenty years ago, and only he was still foolishly waiting in the same place, waiting for twenty years.
Wah—! He needed to find a place where no one was around and cry himself to death!
Huo Xingye snorted coldly in his heart, what kind of person was worthy of having designs on his mom.
After getting in the car, Gu Qingyin looked at Huo Xingye with shining eyes. “Say it again, let me hear it.”
Huo Xingye didn’t say anything with a cold face.
The corners of Gu Qingyin’s upturned lips slowly flattened. “Are you angry? Did I offend you?”
Huo Xingye still didn’t speak.
Gu Qingyin shrugged, sat up straight, took out her phone, and started watching short videos, full of handsome guys and delicious food, making her drool non-stop.
From time to time, she heard a “slurping” sound in her ear, Huo Xingye finally couldn’t bear it anymore and asked in a cold voice, “Who told you to take on Exorcism jobs? Did you tell me that you were going to perform Exorcism? Did I agree?”
Gu Qingyin was stunned. “No, why would I need to tell you about taking on jobs? That’s my job, I’m going out to make money!”
Huo Xingye sneered. “The Huo Family doesn’t lack that little bit of money.”
Gu Qingyin nodded in agreement, and then corrected with a serious expression, “But ah, son, you need to know one thing. Although I gave birth to you three with your dad, we didn’t get a marriage certificate, strictly speaking, I’m not of the Huo Family.”
Huo Xingye choked, was that the point? The point was that he didn’t want her to go out and take on jobs!
