Ch 61: Go To A Mental Hospital If You’re Sick
The car suddenly stopped. Xiao Yao anxiously looked around. It was a secluded street; the flow of traffic at the street’s end was visible at a glance, but very few pedestrians came here.
She was forcibly pulled from the car and then shoved into another SUV.
Besides the driver, there was a man and a woman in the SUV. The woman had fair skin and beautiful features, wearing heavy makeup with lips as red as blood. The man was tall and strong, with dark skin, looking like a bodyguard.
The woman stared at Xiao Yao, her eyes terrifying, like they contained venom. Before Xiao Yao could react, she suddenly extended a hand with long, sharp fingernails, seizing her chin and yanking her forward. “With this appearance, there’s nothing special about you. How did you attract his attention?”
Caught off guard, Xiao Yao’s skin was scratched, and the pain caused her to push the woman away forcefully. “Are you crazy? Who are you? Why are you doing this to me?”
“Because you’re cheap! You seduced someone you shouldn’t have, so you deserve a beating!” After saying this, she slapped Xiao Yao hard across the face.
Xiao Yao blocked the blow, her whole body trembling with anger. “You’re crazy!”
“Ban Wu! Hold her down! I won’t feel better until I ruin this face!”
The tall, dark man immediately leaned forward to restrain Xiao Yao. Xiao Yao turned around and tried to open the door, but it was already locked. She frantically swatted at the man named Ban Wu.
“Don’t touch me! Get away! Get away!”
Her hands were still restrained. Ban Wu grabbed the back of her neck, bringing her head before the vicious woman. The woman smiled ferociously, suddenly pulling a gleaming, sharp knife from her backpack.
Xiao Yao’s complexion immediately changed. She struggled even more violently. “Don’t come near me! What you’re doing is illegal! You… you don’t even know me! Did you get the wrong person? There must be some misunderstanding. My surname is Xiao, my name is Xiao Yao. I’m definitely not the person you’re looking for!”
“No mistake. It’s you,” Zhong Lingxiu said, her teeth itching with hatred. “I’ll ruin your face right now, and see what you use to seduce him!”
Just as Xiao Yao watched the approaching knife tip with fear and trembling, there was a loud collision; a car crashed hard into a van behind them, which then pushed the SUV.
The people in the car swayed violently. Zhong Lingxiu’s knife almost stabbed Xiao Yao in the eye. Fortunately, Ban Wu subconsciously pulled Zhong Lingxiu into his arms, protecting her; otherwise, Xiao Yao would have lost her eye.
Even having escaped that danger, she was still so frightened her face turned pale, her soul leaving her body.
Up ahead, Qian Si and some subordinates were fighting with someone. Xiao Yao saw a familiar figure and immediately rushed to the window, shouting, “Zhuang Lingyun!”
Zhong Lingxiu’s expression changed slightly. “He came so fast?”
Zhuang Lingyun kicked Qian Si five or six meters away. Qian Si tumbled several times before landing on the ground. Ban Wu couldn’t stand it anymore. “I’ll go check it out.”
“No…” Zhong Lingxiu grabbed Ban Wu, instructing the driver, “Drive! Drive quickly! He can’t know it was me!”
Ban Wu frowned. “Are you still trying to deceive yourself? If he didn’t know it was you, how could he have found us so quickly?”
“No! He can’t know! Drive!” Zhong Lingxiu practically roared at the driver.
Seeing her expression and her conversation with Ban Wu, Xiao Yao suddenly realized something! Her misfortune wasn’t random? It was because of Zhuang Lingyun?
This woman wanted to ruin her face because she was with Zhuang Lingyun! She was so jealous and hateful…was she Zhuang Lingyun’s unwillingly mentioned ex-girlfriend?
The driver had just started the car when Zhuang Lingyun grabbed Qian Si by the neck and pressed him onto the SUV’s hood. His cold, dark gaze pierced through the window, directly into Zhong Lingxiu’s heart!
With Zhuang Lingyun’s appearance, Zhong Lingxiu no longer cared about Xiao Yao; her facial expression was unpredictable.
The driver asked if he should ram into Zhuang Lingyun. Zhong Lingxiu slapped him. “You want to kill him! I’ll kill you first!”
The driver shrank his neck, instantly silent.
“I’ll go down,” Ban Wu suggested again. “He can’t beat me.”
“Don’t hurt him at all!” Zhong Lingxiu swallowed hard, seeming to make a decision. “Open the door, I’ll go down.”
Ban Wu opened the car door. Xiao Yao was the first to get out, but before she took a step, Ban Wu grabbed her by the back of her collar. “Behave yourself!”
Zhong Lingxiu slapped Ban Wu’s hand away. “What are you doing? Don’t hurt her.”
Ban Wu:……
Xiao Yao:……
What did this sudden change of face, this gentle, neighborly big sister demeanor, mean?
Finally seeing Xiao Yao, the worry and fear in Zhuang Lingyun’s heart temporarily subsided, replaced by blazing anger.
He threw Qian Si aside and strode forward, pulling Xiao Yao into his arms and hugging her tightly. “Are you alright?”
Xiao Yao’s mood was complicated; she didn’t want to talk to him. Especially after subconsciously confirming there was no danger, the pain in her body intensified, making it difficult to stand.
Zhuang Lingyun hugged her tightly, seeing the scratches on her swollen cheeks. His eyes turned red. He abruptly looked up at Zhong Lingxiu and said through gritted teeth, “What the hell are you doing! Are you sick?! Zhong Lingxiu, if you’re sick, go to a mental hospital, don’t run around causing trouble!”
Zhong Lingxiu’s forced smile trembled slightly. “Lingyun, are you misunderstanding something? I just wanted to chat with her.”
Xiao Yao choked, turning her head from Zhuang Lingyun’s chest to look at the woman’s hypocritical face. “Trying to slash my face was just part of the chat?”
Zhuang Lingyun’s heart skipped a beat. He quickly cupped her face. “Where did she cut you?”
“She hadn’t started yet, then you came.” It was timely; otherwise, she would never forgive him.
For her first eighteen years, she had a smooth life, was kind, rarely argued with anyone, and had never encountered such a terrifying kidnapping and beating. She was utterly heartbroken.
And the source of it all was because of him…
Hearing this, Zhuang Lingyun breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank goodness.”
“Not at all good,” Xiao Yao pointed to her stomach, vehemently demanding to call the police. “I was kicked countless times; I’m in excruciating pain, and I suspect I might have internal injuries.”
Zhuang Lingyun became nervous again, but he couldn’t openly lift her clothes to examine her abdomen. Still, considering her pretty face, now swollen beyond recognition, these people were ruthless; internal injuries were certainly possible.
“Let’s go to the hospital. These people won’t get away, don’t worry.”
Xiao Yao looked at him doubtfully, but didn’t object. She was in too much pain to care about anything else.
Zhuang Lingyun was incredibly distressed. He bent down and scooped her up into his arms, holding her tightly. He looked up at Zhong Lingxiu, who seemed lost in thought, and her lackey, Ban Wu.
Truly a den of vipers! Disgusting!
