Ch 217: Lin Lulu’s Transformation
Lin Lulu felt her body rising higher and higher; the high altitude and blood loss made her vision blur.
She seemed to have ascended into the dense canopy of the Tree of Life, surrounded by intricate branches and leaves.
When she felt herself stop rising, Lin Lulu found herself in a spherical space enclosed by branches and leaves, and in the center of the space, a book was floating.
The ancient tome emitted a silvery glow, and she instinctively took the book into her hands.
As Lin Lulu held the tome, a light emanated from her body. Her hair lengthened and changed from black to silver; her clothes transformed in the light into a flowing, silk-like white gown, and ornaments with ancient patterns appeared around her waist and neck.
Elf-like wings sprouted from her back; her long, silver eyelashes gave Lin Lulu’s gaze a profound depth, as if she was no longer the impetuous young girl, but possessed a greater solemnity and gravity.
“I found you, Hero. I didn’t expect you to be so high up.”
Eruis’s cunning voice came from a distance. The surroundings were growing dark; sensing Lin Lulu’s location, Eruis channeled Dark Power to envelop the area.
He intended for Lin Lulu to die a desperate death in the confined darkness.
Lin Lulu, holding the tome, flew away quickly. The Dark Power was like ordinary smoke before her, unable to hinder her in the slightest. In moments, Lin Lulu flew above the Tree of Life.
She resembled a pure Goddess, half-closing her eyes as she looked down at Eruis.
“Is this the Hero from before?”
Eruis’s eyes were full of doubt, despite the obvious differences in clothing and hair, and the presence of wings.
But her face was exactly the same as the Hero from before. Eruis’s observation of human appearances was extremely detailed; through years of practice, he could almost transform into anyone.
“Even you can fly! So what if you can fly!”
An enraged Eruis unleashed a large amount of Dark Power to envelop Lin Lulu. After so many years of effort, he had almost mastered the use of his Dark Power like a Domain.
His body turned into black smoke and merged into the dark space. This was absolute darkness; it was difficult to find him in the darkness, much less defeat him.
“Holy Light, purify.”
Lin Lulu closed her eyes and spread her hands. A strong light erupted from her body, causing the darkness to recede wherever the light reached.
“Ah!”
Eruis let out a scream; his body was being burned by the light, emitting black smoke. This feeling was very bad.
Having lived so long, he had sensed the threat to his life from her. Eruis, transformed into black smoke, quickly sank towards the ground, trying to move along the shadows of the leaves and branches, hoping not to be discovered.
But Lin Lulu raised her hand and shot a beam of light at him. The shadows were powerless against this light; Eruis fell down in agonizing pain.
When Lin Lulu reached the ground, the person before her made her eyes widen.
The person she had longed for was standing there, but why did he look like his younger self?
“Ji Chuan!”
“Lulu… I missed you so much…”
Ji Chuan’s face was full of worry for her. Lin Lulu stood there, stunned, tears welling up in her eyes.
“Did I pass your test?”
There was a moment of hesitation in Ji Chuan’s eyes, then he nodded joyfully.
“You passed my test. I didn’t expect you to be so outstanding.”
Lin Lulu cried. Ji Chuan’s tests were always so difficult. Were these scenarios deliberately designed to stimulate her potential?
Although Lin Lulu didn’t know why she had transformed into this form, it must have been anticipated by Ji Chuan. She could already feel the powerful energy in her body.
Now that I’ve unlocked this potential, I should be able to help everyone, finally, I am no longer useless.
“What’s the reward for passing the test?”
Could this world also be a dream Ji Chuan had woven for me? Is it only here that I can undergo this transformation? I should be able to return to the Stronghold and reunite with everyone now.
“There is, of course, a reward, my dear Lulu.”
Ji Chuan’s tone became unusually gentle. Lin Lulu watched him approach her step by step; his gaze became somewhat ambiguous.
Lin Lulu unconsciously swallowed.
Ji Chuan gently took off his shirt, revealing his slender but well-defined body. He gently grasped Lin Lulu’s hand.
“Lulu, I love you the most. I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time. Do you love me too?”
Ji Chuan’s eyes were alluring, and Lin Lulu’s heart beat faster involuntarily. She placed her hand on his chest, feeling his own accelerated heartbeat.
“Every time I see you, my heart beats faster. You are the person I love most.”
Her silver eyelashes covered Lin Lulu’s eyes; her expression changed from shyness to coldness, even something frightening.
“What’s wrong, Lulu? Don’t you like me? I can fulfill any of your desires.”
Ji Chuan grabbed Lin Lulu’s finger and gently licked it.
“He has no heartbeat, and he wouldn’t say such things.”
Lin Lulu’s tone was flat. Ji Chuan stopped his actions, his face slightly embarrassed.
“Lulu, who are you talking about? This is a good time for us to be alone, don’t ruin our mood.”
Lin Lulu’s pupils emitted a strong light; her silver hair and white gown fluttered in the air. Ji Chuan was already backing away in fear.
“Lulu, what’s wrong with you? Don’t scare me.”
In a flash, the light exploded. Eruis had no time to react or escape. The Domain of Light hadn’t fully covered the area, and Eruis had turned to ashes in the light.
“Why… after enduring so much, I would die here… Am I really not a Greater Demon…?”
Looking at the ashes on the ground, Lin Lulu retracted her Domain.
Her expression was very despondent, a tear rolling down her cheek.
Even at the moment Ji Chuan appeared, she had a feeling he was disguised, but she wanted to deceive herself; perhaps Ji Chuan really had come to get her.
She hoped that this strange world and the events that unfolded were merely an illusion created by Ji Chuan for her, and that the illusion would disappear once she completed her task.
The members of the Stronghold were waiting for her there, ready to laugh at her for taking so long.
But it seemed that all of this was real. After killing this Demon, what then?
Her recruited companions were also dead; the brief time spent together had given Lin Lulu feelings for them.
Remembering Kaluo and Fuluoya’s deaths in protecting her, Lin Lulu raised her head, tears streaming down her face.
What exactly was Ji Chuan’s test? Should she continue searching for clues to the Round Plate in the forest…?
