Ch 284: Ji Chuan, the injured one

Ji Chuan cleared the zombies from the elevator and escorted Zhu Zhu upstairs, then he knocked on Tang Yue’s door.

“All taken care of. I’m going to take a shower.”

Tang Yue looked at Ji Chuan gratefully; their leader was so reliable even without special abilities.

Ji Chuan was somewhat weary; the hotel was large, and he’d been busy almost all afternoon, pure physical labor.

Fortunately, his stamina recovered after a short rest; in the Different World, frequent use of special abilities left him so exhausted he could barely keep his eyes open.

Ji Chuan had seen Xia Yida’s private jet; it displayed her latest brand endorsement, making it quite conspicuous among the other planes.

Ji Chuan diligently searched and finally located it, but the tarmac was vast—a considerable distance.

He looked around, casually hacked down a few zombies in uniform, and then pulled out his mobile phone to call Xia Yida.

“Xia Yida, I’m at the airport. Have your pilot taxi the plane to the one o’clock position; there’s a small exit; my car is parked outside with its high beams on.”

“Okay! Okay!”

Xia Yida was very excited; she hadn’t expected A Chuan to come so quickly, risking so much to save her.

As the plane taxied, more and more zombies were attracted by the noise; zombies from several planes began walking toward the tarmac, and a dense mass of zombies in the distance began running here.

Ji Chuan frowned. Despite the dim light, he could see a vast, dark mass in the distance; these seemed to be the numerous travelers trapped in the airport; he hadn’t expected so many zombies to gather in just half a day.

Faster, faster, Ji Chuan prayed silently.

Even for him, this number was difficult to handle. He could only pray that Xia Yida’s plane could arrive quickly, and then he could drive her away from here.

Zombies ran at about the same speed as a person, much slower than a plane.

Zombies were already approaching. Ji Chuan swung his cleaver, his expression serious; that dark mass of zombies was very close.

“Take off your shoes and run!”

Xia Yida abandoned her planned entrance and hurriedly ran toward Ji Chuan; Wang Wei followed behind carrying a large suitcase.

She’d intended to strike a beautiful pose before rushing into Ji Chuan’s embrace, but she didn’t expect the witnesses to their reunion to be a dense crowd of zombies.

“Leave the luggage!”

Ji Chuan reminded Wang Wei, pulling Xia Yida toward the car.

He tossed the car keys to Wang Wei, “The one with the high beams on, not far. Start the car, I’ll cover the rear!”

After repeatedly hacking down several approaching zombies, Ji Chuan retreated to the pedestrian exit, swinging powerfully. Night had completely fallen; the high beams were somewhat glaring, but they easily illuminated the terrifying faces of the zombies.

“Damn it!”

Ji Chuan cursed; there were too many. Although he could use the narrow pedestrian exit to his advantage, it was difficult to find time to get into the car.

Gradually, some zombies noticed the two people in the car and tried to move towards it.

Xia Yida called anxiously. She ran out of the car, picked up her high heels, and went to Ji Chuan’s side, attempting to use them to attack the zombies.

“Dangerous! Go back!”

Wang Wei was very conflicted in the car; if he came out to help, he had no weapon. Moreover, if all three of them came out and tried to get back in the car, it would waste time, and they might be surrounded by zombies as soon as they got in.

If the two of them could escape and get into the car and close the door, he could speed off, giving them a better chance of survival.

“Watch out!”

Seeing a zombie about to grab Xia Yida, Ji Chuan instinctively blocked with his arm and then killed the zombie with a blow.

“Get in the car! I’ve been scratched by a zombie!”

Xia Yida cried, frozen in place.

“I told you to get in the car!”

If he turned into a zombie, with his physical abilities and the knife, no one here would survive.

He shoved Xia Yida toward the car; he already felt the burning in his body, and his consciousness was beginning to fade.

His pocket emitted a bright light; unbeknownst to Ji Chuan, the Moon Condensing Pearl in his pocket turned to dust.

The moon in the sky turned blood red.
